Wow what an experiance. We took the kids as a treat before returning to school after the holidays, and they loved it. The coffee was a drip in the cup, which was a nice change to the normal kind of coffee. The food and dessert were amazing and also had some good interactive options for the children. We paid about £60 for 6 of is, which is normal because of our family size. Really enjoyed it and we will return soon. Thanks for the great service.

I'd give them 11-stars rather than just 5! Really nice ambiance, food selection is a class of its own, and the servings are presentable, tasteful, and worth every £. The staff are really helpful, approachable, and friendly, like hands down to that dude who really was dedicated to his work and got me there seated on table-for-1, an NHS staff (discount taken care of), got me a nice corner, didn't make me hurry or gave me enough time to digest that whole plate of pancakes and diabetes, like all in all I am looking forward to my next visit here (on off-duties). I want to say this with all honesty, but so far they're the best overall restaurant experience I have so far, yet, here in Newcastle (and this is me who's been working in this country for already 5+ years). Totally, fully recommend The Dispensary, I'd sign what I've said here with my NMC pin!👍👍

Kids portion French toast as it was bug enough and you get two slices covered in Nutella 🤣 pancake stack aswell both delicious solid 8/10 Trashbrowns dirty and greasy and good, could of done with more toppings tho ... Menu seems to have decreased , used to be so many options. Once had a breakfast loaded fries from here and another breakfast dish which were absolutely incredible but no longer on menu. Egg shack is now gone aswell that was unreal food. Drip coffees are good and Cloud 9 hot choc is fab. Deffo recommend.

Went for a little date on Saturday here. The Chicken Waffles were amazing, perfect combo of sweet and savoury with a touch of spice from the sauce. We shared the White Chocolate, Strawberry and Nutella pancakes and they were delicious! My partners Latte was perfect and my Candy Floss White hot chocolate was so sweet and tasty. Definitely recommend this little coffee house and eatery to my friends and family 💕

Seating - I booked a table before we went, glad we did because there was a queue outside in the rain. I didn't like the booking system though, i had to put in my card details and they saved them, which i didnt like. Staff - staff were friendly and helpful and worked well under the stress. Food - the pancakes were fluffy and the nutella and chocolate was PLENTY. But honestly i found it a bit sickly. Ate about half of it, scrapping off the topping. -My friend got the chicken and waffles, which looked lush, good chunks of chicken. -Got a portion of the trash browns and they were crispy and had a good topping of cheese and hot sauce.

As someone who is fairly critical of the coffee served by many cafés, the lattes of The Dispensary were definitely top notch. We used them to moderate the sugar content of a shared stack of Strawberry and Nutella pancakes which was still too much even for two of us! It was delicious but we were defeated. Couldn't help noticing that as 40-somethings we were definitely raising the average age, but the wait staff were great and it was a buzzy energetic vibe going on at Friday lunchtime, with very few free tables.

We came here for english breakfast and it was nice I think. Me and my partner both enjoyed it. We also were delighted by the man who served us. So thank you Dispensary in general.

O.M.W! This was the best breakfast food I've had for a long time! The staff are very friendly and the science based food and drink is exiting and decadent. A fancy meal all for a very affordable price. The French toast is divine, and it's very nice to find a halal establishment in the middle of Newcastle. I will 100% be coming back to this vibrant, welcoming and hands down exceptional establishment. AMAZING!!!

From the moment I discovered this place i turned it into a weekly ritual to have my weekend brunch here as everything on their menu is extremely tasty 🤩 they have both sweet and savoury options to meet everyone’s preference. It is recommended that you book in advance especially on weekends!

Tried this place for the first time today after wanting to go for a while and was definitely not disappointed. Ordered the Biscoff pancakes, they were excellent and the portion huge - definitely good value for money. On top of that the service was excellent, the best service I've had in a very long time from a really pleasant server called Zahra. She was really polite and attentive throughout and also recommended a really nice tea from their speciality menu which was really nice. 5 stars

Delicious food, fast service. Recommend booking because then you get to skip queuing outside it. A full plate of pancakes is quite a sweet-tasting experience, so we shared a biscoff pancakes swapped half-half with chicken and waffles. I enjoyed that ratio of sweet to savoury food more than I think I would have enjoyed a full plate of pancakes. Everything was lush though!

Situated below The View student accommodation. It's themed like an old fashioned chemistry lab complete with quirky syringes full of Nutella to coat your pancakes and other scientific implements. Staff greeted us when we arrived and were very friendly and helpful. Looking at the menu suggests a Halal influenced feel (ie chicken sausages, turkey bacon) but these worked beautifully. Really enjoyed our Brunch and would definitely go again. It gets busy so would recommend booking in advance, however we didn't and we were found a table.

Visited on pancake day as a group of 5 and were served by a lovely lady who was very patient and suggestive with our orders. We were quite fussy and she ensured us that changes were not a problem. Drinks and pancakes arrived quickly and exactly as ordered. Delicious. I believe she had dark hair and was around 5’2 but unfortunately we didn’t get her name. A beautiful little cafe that we found by accident. Right on the edge of Newcastle University campus. We went in for a coffee and were intrigued by the "Trash Browns". We weren't disappointed. A cheese lovers Best friend with a surprising but pleasant warmth of chilli flakes. We can't wait to come back and try their pancake stacks which come with the added flair and creativity of syrup served in a syringe!

First the positive: The Pancakes were really good :) Now the negative: When you ask for tap water you gonna get a carafe with water and paper cups. Why paper cups? I‘m sitting in a restaurant which presents itself as „instagrammable“ and fancy but they don‘t trust you with glas? Same for when you are ordering an orange juice. Wait, it’s actually worse because paper cups are more environmentally friendly than plastic cups! Thats not only bad for our planet but also looks cheap. Please change that because the atmosphere is great inside :)

The food here is GODLY. I have never eaten better pancakes in my life. I honestly cannot recommend this cafe highly enough. I will also mention that they do not take bookings for less than six people.

I got a candy floss hot chocolate and biscoff french toast. Slightly disappointed that they had no creme eggs left for a creme egg hot chocolate as I love them! However the candyfloss hot chocolate was still intriguing. It tasted delicious, not too sweet so it was easy to drink. I wish the hot chocolate had been a little hotter though as it got cold pretty quick, I assume they make it to a certain temperature as you have to pour the hot chocolate yourself from a beaker like a fun science experiment to melt the candy floss. I arrived at 2pm for my booked table appointment and when my biscoff order came the waitress said they ran out of bread so I had one less bread slice than usual. I was certain I wouldn't finish the whole plate anyways but thought it was a bit strange that they ran out of bread, I assumed french toast would be quite a popular option. I wish they had an option for Nutella or biscoff waffles! Not too sure if I like the idea of chicken and waffles haha. Overall it was a decent experience and I will probably return in the future. It's certainly a place designed to take some good photos for Instagram if you want some!

The candy floss with flask was good for a photo but more novelty than actually enhance the taste.

If you want something incredibly sugary this is the place to go. They have a great selection of fancy looking alternative drinks and their pancakes are lovely although hard to finish by yourself. It's the perfect brunch spot. I thought it was great that with the breakfast they offered extra hash browns if you didn't want an item which was nice not to have to ask. I like that you can now book a table as queues used to be big.

The Dispensary describes itself as a ‘coffee shop’ but it’s much more than that which contributed to the excellent and surprising first visit (on only their second day). We were welcomed in a friendly manner and were given seats on a small table near the window, although squashed, it was fine and we were understanding due to how busy they were. Throughout the waiters and waitresses were accommodating for all customers and regularly asked if their seats were okay and if they’d prefer a move to a different table if available. They were also very kind and friendly to an elderly lady who needed to sit down whilst a table opened up. The service was slower than I’d usually accept however understandable due to the ‘newness’ of the place. We also noted that they were training some members of staff ‘on the job’ in a calm and cool manner which was really nice to see and made us feel even more comfortable. The decor was modern and the finished is polished... in line with their menu, which is experimental yet comforting as it offers unique twists on classics and familiar flavours with their more unique dishes. We opted for their dirty breakfast fries, shakshuka and eggs florentine. All plates were filling enough for a morning breakfast and ticked all the boxes regarding flavours. I’d love to have a ‘sample option’ at The Dispensary... an opportunity to sample all plates on a given menu e.g the breakfast menu, for a set price in order to make a more educated choice next time.. they could all it ‘The pill box’ or ‘The Morning prescription’ to keep up the theme. Everything looks too good to choose between at the moment. I hope with the development around the area and the exciting menu, they continue to grow and stay relevant for all Tynesiders to enjoy for a long time.

Faultless! Went here for some breakfast pancakes. Went for about 10am on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy at all. It filled up fairly quickly but that's to be expected. Unique and reasonably priced spot for brunch in Newcastle. Very hearty portion sizes and most items around £7.50. Pictured is the raspberry pancakes, white chocolate pancakes and the candy floss hot chocolate (though there are plenty of savoury options too!) Recommended.

I suppose one order of pancakes is good for two persons 🥞. I asked them to make waffles with strawberries 🍓🧇 it is delicious (not exiting in the menu). The coffee is not perfect but was fine and my daughter enjoyed her drink (pink Carmel Frappuccino with sprinkles).

One of my go to places for nearly everything. Brunch menu is packed with sweet pancakes and brilliant savoury options like full English. You might think things are rather pricey but once you see the food all reservations go out the window, HUGE portions but is still presented beautifully nothing is too overwhelming. Evening menu is just as good, if not better with lots of options at fair prices for the huge portions. Service has always been impeccable with the nicest servers I've ever come across. Definitely go here.

Believe the hype for your rich food and coffees. Beautifully presented and tastes amazing. However, there is too much on your plate. For the price you pay I think it’s worth the money if there’s just one less of everything. One less bit of french toast, one less pancake and you’d leave satisfied rather than feeling sick.

Went here for brunch today. Waited for about 10 minutes to get a table and quite a while for our food, but not long enough that it was an issue. Food was nice and reasonable priced. Had the eggs Benedict with grilled halloumi. As a bread lover, the sourdough it was served on was delicious and made the dish for me. My boyfriend had a standard English breakfast, which was also nice (like any other English breakfast). Worth a visit but look out for when you go, we went on a Monday at about 11:30 and still had to wait a while for a table and the food.

The menu and food was displayed and served in a fun unique way. The coffee is really nice. The chicken and waffles I had were great. It’s very busy however. Line up out the door to get in. When you do get a table they just squeeze you in. The wait for the coffee and food is long. I guess they are just really popular. Happy I went.

Went for a birthday brunch. Nice relaxed atmosphere and the food was superb. About a tenner for a meal and coffee. I had Eggs Benedict and it was perfect. My daughter got an iced coffee which was like a huge test tube with the milk and ice in a glass. A great experience.

Wow.... Popped in today after seeing a few posts on Instagram. Staff where all amazing, very nice and very informative. They advised that pancakes can take a while but we wernt in any rush so ordered them for my little girl. I had the French toast, hubby had fried chicken and waffles and son had dirty fries. All where absolutely gorgeous. Very tasty, well presented and not long to wait at all. We had the drip iced coffee and I felt like a child again. Such a brilliant experience. Will definitely be trying the pancakes on our next visit. Thanks so much.

Nice place with unique breakfast/brunch options. Good sized portions and tasty pancakes. Staff were ok, sever at the till when I visited didn't pay attention to what I was saying and was quite frustrating but other staff were good. Prices are a bit expensive but portions are big so may make up for it. Nice place to try once in a while for something a bit different.

Creative food and unique. I am customer of dispensary since first they open I am come at least three time a week, and now ??? It’s WAY WAY different from what they used to be. Food quality went low. Pancakes took forever and when we got it it’s HARSH! Cold and we couldn’t even cut it and eat it. Table are not that clean when we got seated. Cutlery not clean at all, we had to ask them to change them twice!! It still had left over from food. I understand they clean it in dishwasher but at least check it before you put in table to serve customer. Breakfast in busy days become sooooo little portion from the usual which is unfair. I love dispensary, I just hope they be more caring about cleaning and their hospitality. We want dispensary to be one of the tops in newcastle !

This was myself and my mum's first time here, I had heard such incredible things about the food. My mum ordered the eggs and avacado toast however the eggs were cool not hot. I ordered pancakes with the berry compote which was extremely delicious, although they had forgotten to put the ice cream on top. However the lovely waitress brought it to the table and apologised. We has also ordered hash browns however they had been forgotten and did not arrive until we had nearly finished our food, by this point our drinks had gone cold. I would add that we waited half an hour for our food to be servered whilst 2 ladies seated next to us, who came in after, only had to wait 10 me minutes for their food. This may have been because they were friends with the chef on duty. I would most definitely try coming here again in order give a better review.

Absolutely AMAZING!!! Dirty fries loaded with mozzarella...Yummy! Pancakes with berries, ice cream and a loaded syringe filled with maple syrup... All very well presented! Extremely fast service and friendly, attentive staff. Chilled out vibes. Will most definitely be visiting again.

Coffee has a bitter, over-roasted flavour. Took a while to come out, and was lukewarm, possibly as a result.

Staff are very pleasant took my mother to show her the place as a treat after being at hospital, she didn't think it was wow but then again she only wanted a latte. However when she tasted my eggs Florentine on toast and not the muffin she thought it was beautifully cooked especially the hollandaise sauce. Only 4 stars as considering it was only me and my mother in at that time 9am the time it took for food was slow it still took 22minutes and previously when I was there we waited 45 minutes (same waitress served us me on both occasions so remembered me which was nice but also remembered the delay last time and again apologised for the delay..not her fault but I bet she's sick and tired of saying sorry to customers for the inefficient kitchen? I don't understand why service for the food is slow regardless if it's busy or not. But the waiting staff service and quality of food when it does arrive is what makes me return.

Went with the kids, was welcomed and seated within a minute of arriving,staff were friendly and attentive. Egg Benedict was delicious, cold coffee titration and candy floss hot chocolate was good but wouldn't exactly call it an experiment. Really only went because thought there would be more experiment type food for example may be a titration that change colours of coffee or something as you kept on pouring (That would have been a wow factor). Felt ..basically was nice but gimmicky with just syringe,chronicle flask water etc. Would have wowed me if things actually changed colours, flavours by using the science equipment.Also sweet waffle with chicken not a good idea, waffle on its on is good.Chicken felt like was not made fresh but rather refried from frozen.Also a bigger portion of ice cream would be good as too much pancake to go through just with 1 scoop of ice cream,or make pancakes thinner or 2 pancakes instead of 4.

Favourite breakfast cafe in the whole of newcastle. The ambience is to kill for! Students get 10% discounts too~ Pancakes are really good and filling (can never finish it, but I would if I could), the nachos are 100/100, and the french toast is yums yums~
