This should be your first stop when you go to Isle Of Wight the coffee is excellent! I do not have a pic of the outside but it’s a very cosy cafe with two floors. And their coffee merchandise is too cool! They sell coffee machines, their own coffee beans and much more! They also cater for soya and oat milk which was the biggest bonus. The coffee was so so delicious I am going back there before I finish off from my trip here. The staff was so friendly and took time to explain how the coffee makers work and which one is the best for beginners etc. They have won a lot of awards and have displayed them in the shop too! I’ll write another review after I’ve tried their cakes too!!!

Very tasty food at this downtown café. The place seems to be quite popular and the coffee was quite excellent. If people watching is your thing, sit by a window and watch the morning bustle. If not, it's easy enough to find a quiet corner to read or draw.

The staff was polite. I had difficulty finding out their drinks and asked a waiter where the menu was. Also, I did not receive a napkin when my latte arrived. However, the hazelnut latte I ordered was delicious and I highly recommend it.

Best coffee and the freshly roasted subscription service is amazingly useful. The caffe is spacious, efficient well stocked and has great live music on Sunday afternoons sometimes. We'll be back.

Great coffee, nice interior and good cake. The rest of the menu looked good and the staff were really helpful, too (thanks to the waitress who deconstructed my toast order so my youngest could avoid the peanut butter). Service was a tiny bit slow but it didn’t bother us and besides, I guess that’s what happens when you’re busy :)

Lovely ambience and decor and clearly well run and efficient. I went with a Black Americano, this was no novelty Coffee dressed up, it was a serious, serious beverage. Lovely roasted flavour with absolutely no bitterness. I can hand on heart say this is one of the best coffees I've had in the UK. My partner had a Latte and caramel slice which was also fantastic. Would definitely recommend!

This place looks nice, bright. The waitress was young and inexperienced but did a good job, very nice to their customers. The food was alright. We paid £5 for a panini with brie and cranberry and a toasted sandwich arrived with some salad and chips when we were expecting a half baguette, so a bit let down by the presentation. A cup of tea cost £2.20 and was enough for 2 and 1/2 servings, even though the teapot seemed to be able to host more water. So it came across overpriced. They are a new place so I think they will improve, the food it self tasted nice.

Wonderful experience. Really delightful cappuccino and cake. Even the porridge is a step above. This is a very good place for children. They have a good supply of high chairs, keep the place clean, and interact well with the kids. I even somehow ended up with a double order of my sandwich. Can't say that's a failing from my end!

Loved the setting. Amazing set up with the roaster upstairs and loads of coffee gear. Food was delicious. The main (constructive) criticism is that the coffee needs adjusting/sorting....it's being over extracted...therefore very bitter...I'm not talking dark roast balanced bitter...I'm talking Starbucks level simply bad coffee. I wondered if this was just a single occasion but the 3 times I've tried the coffee it's been the same. If that's sorted, this place will be perfect.

I knew this place when it was Beavis!! So glad the new owners left most of the building as it was with the gallery in the first floor. The food was very nice and tasty. Coffee was also very nice. Lots of local produce and fairtrade. The only not so good remark is that it took them for ever to serve some wraps. But when we got them they were extreemly nice.

Was really looking forward to coming back here now it has finally reopened. Cakes were as appetising as ever and the coffee fine (I prefer the blends they make for others like Peach, than what they serve in store) and in true Caffe Isola style, one of the staff members was surly, aloof and made us feel like she couldn't think of anything worse to do than seating us and taking our order and the other was fun, personable and a pleasure to talk to and have a joke with about our pretentious coffee order. I don't know why this place has such a high staff turnover but I suspect there is an abject failure of management in this regard. However, the building is, as ever, the star attraction and it will continue to be my favourite coffee haunt in Newport, even if just for the architecture.

Lovely location, but i find the Latte being served in a small glass tumbler is not only awkward but very small for the amount it is and its not a real Latte as its mainly just espresso with a tiny bit of milk.... Just trying to be trendy for trends sake, i love coffee and everything about it but have stopped coming here for this reason alone! Latte shouldn't be a small strong bitter tasting cup.

A lovely independent coffee shop in Newport making great use of an old building. The coffee is great, as is the selection of food and drink. The atmosphere inside is lovely too. Order at the till and your food / drink will be brought to you. It's rather nice to pop in for some great cake and coffee in between errands!

Caffè Isola is an oasis of peace and tranquility in an otherwise somewhat dreary Newport. The service is amazing, it might perhaps benefit from table service especially downstairs but not too much hassle to order at the counter. It is thankfully dog friendly and that is the one factor that might make a limited Table Service area a good idea. The food is stunning, be careful you'll want more of their cakes once you've tasted them.

Mid bike ride we were in dire need of cake and coffee, anywhere would’ve done really but we were very pleasantly surprised by Cafe Isola. Very tasty cake, coffee and yogurt/granola/fruit, but best of all there was a wonderful jazz duo playing guitars and singing. Both really talented and playing at just the right volume to provide a lovely atmosphere. Was a great surprise, will definitely revisit.

Lovely drinks.However sat in upper area overlooking the drinks being prepared and surprised to see one or breaches of hygiene ie Cups being picked up by the rim of the cup and not the handle.Trays in continuous use with being cleaned any way. Bearing in mind we are in the middle of a virus I was unhappy with what I saw. Mentioned it to a waitress, hopefully she passed on my comments.

Food was nice, but as we had to sit upstairs (no available seating downstairs), it would have been good if there were a specials board up there too. There were also no food menus on the table. I had to go back downstairs to get one. I ordered a cup of tea and the waitress forgot to bring me any milk or even ask if I wanted any. She just rushed off. I had to go back down again to get some, and when I did, they didn't give me a choice as to what kind I wanted. I generally prefer skimmed but they gave me semi-skimmed. So, the food was nice but just a couple little niggles.

Nice atmosphere and well set out. Disappointed with the tea, quite weak even after leaving it a while but the coffee (latte) was none of the best I've tasted in a cafe. My only moan is that it's served in a glass with no handle. Too hot to hold. My wife lent me a glove so I could drink it while it was satisfyingly hot. Food ok but I only had a wrap. Will try a doorstop sandwich next time as they looked great and I really liked the accompanying veg crisps, especially the beetroot and I normally detest beetroot. Overall a good experience but need to ditch the coffee glasses or get one's with handles.

Great new space/location . Been packed since opening and reflects what a great space it is - sit at bar to watch your coffee being made , sit people watching at a window seat or seat on one of the large slate tables with friends. They easily do the best coffee on the Isle of Wight . Service has been a little slow at times but think playing catch up since moving from a much smaller location

I found the latte being served in a drinking glass just silly posturing though the actual beverage was delicious. A delicious goats cheese panini made up for any irritation from the slow service as it was freshly made and beautifully served. If you are not in a rush and need a place to relax and have a spot of lunch I highly recommend this.

Excellent coffee not compromised by the move to larger premises. Can get crowded and at peak times is a little noisy. Has a continental feel that is supported by friendly and helpful staff, not something always found in most other Newport coffee shops. Isola is my first choice town centre coffee stop.

Spacious and warm venue, helpful staff and well behaved mutts welcomed at the front of the cafe near the sofas. Coffee is a decent blend with a bit of 'bite' - this is probably the place to get a selection of single estate and blended roasted beans, grounds too which I think they do on the premises. The yellow exterior cheers up this rather tired end of town too. This is vast improvement on the previous, cramped shop, and the buzz of conversation was kept to a dull roar. I'd like to see it host arts events , cabaret and intimate concerts in the evening too. Not sure if it has an alcohol licence, however. As a venue it has a lot to offer.

There's two entrances to cafe Isola (there's one round the side for wheelchairs and prams) which is ready handy. Also toilets upstairs and downstairs. Lovely cakes on offer and lots on the menu for food. I find the decaff coffee a bit bitter so that would be the only downside...

Food that is fresh, wholesome and delicious which caters for all sorts ~ gluten free, vegan and surprisingly for some, affordable ~ treat yourself. My doorstop breakfast, wholemeal bread with peanut butter, banana, honey and seeds was £3.75! I had always gone into cafe isola when they were in pyle street but i must say i was a bit disappointed when i went to their new larger establishment on Node hill , although the new place is very well laid out and airy with lots of staff , the 2 latte I ordered took ages to come and they were not hot, it was fairly busy so i didn't complain but hopefully it’ll be better next time i visit.
