What a smashing cafe!
I'd not been in years, so we dropped in for a little lunch: wow, the place has changed!
Very fresh looking cafe, nice outside space and plenty of seating indoors too.
Some delicious food, very friendly staff and the Island's biggest selection of cake, I am sure 😎
Fish finger sandwich delicious, as was the quiche of the day....nice coffee, & the cakes...well....try them all 🤷♂️
Highly recommended 👍

Happened to spot this place in passing with plans and intensions of heading to a different place but decided to stop here on the off chance.
What a fantastic place it's beautiful. The food was amazing and much bigger than expected, everyone in our group 7 of us enjoyed everything we had dished up.
They also have a large pottery section where you can paint ornaments and such and there were a few people there eating cakes whilst doing pottery decorating. Reasonably priced aswell depending on which pieces you choose obviously but our 3 lads did a piece each and it cost about £39 just over £10 each which I felt was very reasonable.
The staff were all very nice and helpful and all seemed genuinely happy and interested in their and your day.

Brilliant breakfast with family and incredible waffles!!
Called in for a late breakfast and although being busy all the staff were super attentive even coming out from the kitchen to check our order as we went a little off menu with some extras. First visit back here in a long time and it wont be our last.
C. G.
Simply amazing! On a sunny weekend day our cycling club arrived with 30+ people at the same time. The staff were friendly and food arrived quickly. Fantastic atmosphere and tasty food and oh how amazing cakes!!
c. g.
Came along here one morning without booking but they happily accommodated us, very nice fried breakfast for me and cake for the kids, coffee was very nice too. Kids then did a bit of pottery painting which they all enjoyed. Definitely go back here if we are on the island again.
A. O.
Lovely little cafe with indoor and outside space. The usual selection of meals, burgers, 2 types of salad and sandwiches and wraps with a kids menu too. They have a nifty alert system on the tables for you to let the staff know when you are ready to order and pay. The food was all good but the best thing about the place was the wonderful staff, all of which were particularly amiable and lovely. £35 for 2 adult meals, 2 kids meals and drinks.
R. A.
Incredible selection of cakes. We had sandwiches/ burgers followed by cake, there were over 20 to choose from, the blondie, Victoria and bread cakes were all spot on, the orange and almond was really tasty, just a tad too sweet but certainly nothing to complain about
P. N.
Had a really nice lunch and cake here as part of a big group. Food was great, really good selection of cakes and waiters friendly.
The experience was marred by who I assume was the owner or manager, who asked my wife to clean up the mess on the floor under a highchair from another member of our groups children who had already left. In fairness there was a fair bit of food on the floor, but it just needed a quick sweep up. We were quite taken aback by the request and the whole situation felt really awkward.
M.
Lovely experience! We went for lunch and then painted some pottery. Can’t wait to see the results!
T. K.
Absolutely superb cakes. Whoever makes these, i salute you.
Stopped here after quite a lively bike ride with my wife and had a slice of coffee cake.
One of the best, if not THE best. 🤤
F.
Very tasty cakes and we liked an exhibition of local artists and craft people.
K. S.
Pleasant place to eat or have a cup of coffee. The range of cakes is enormous and each piece we tried was delicious. Vegetarian breakfast wasn't as good as we expected but the full English breakfast was delish.
S. R.
Such a wonderful little cafe! We went in for some acrylic pottery painting, but there were glazed options too, however as collection had a 2 week wait we couldn't do that one. Staff were so lovely and I was well catered for as a coeliac with lots of gluten free options! Thank you so much for such a lovely, relaxing morning!
F. K.
Popped into the Chessell Pottery Cafe today. Had a fabulous lunch outside in the garden. The staff were helpful and the food was gorgeous (especially the brownies which were amazing). Will certainly be going back.
J. F.
Wow what a find..... amazing coffee and coffee cake and delicious prawn sandwich 🥪 with salad 🥗 cheaper if u don't have the chips 😋 will definitely be going again. Fab staff too and amazing choice of yummy scrummy cakes 🎂😋 you can sit inside or out... fabulous decor with tables and couches to relax.
G.
Stopped here on my morning RB ride! The cafe and location are lovely with parking facilities for cars and bike 🚲 racks allowing safe storage whilst you order your drink. Seating outside and cosy seating and sofas inside with a woodburning stove which would be great on cold ❄ mornings. Ordered a great coffee from a large selection and chilled in the peaceful atmosphere before riding off. Would recommend! 👌😁
J. F.
My friends and I visited Chessell Pottery Cafe on our way to Yarmouth and had a drink, if we had more time we would have loved to have a cake as they looked delicious, hence no stars for food as we didn't eat. The staff were really friendly!!!
J. I.
Gorgeous setting, gorgeous delicious food and friendly staff
A. R.
Stopped here whilst cycling round the IOW for a much welcome pit stop. Luckily made it 30mins before they shut.
Great cake as pictured, light and moist. Scone was a little dry and flaky for my taste though.
Plenty of space for the required social distancing measures etc.
Friendly and accommodating team working there as well.
I. M.
Great food. Stunning location. Highly recommend
K. A.
Delicious coffee and cake served in beautiful cups with friendly service. It was a real birthday treat for my mum.
H. M. Ş.
Everything is beautiful and delicious, the staff is always very polite and gracious.
S. P.
Great tasting, freshly made food, and friendly service in a stress free and family friendly location. Easy parking in free carpark on site.
R. R.
They had 20 different cakes to choose from. The hot chocolate was very well presented.
L. M.
Having never visited before I had been keen to visit and try out either their cake or their rather-more famous cream tea. The setting is very peaceful, somewhat quaint with a lovely sheltered garden and a light covered cafe.
Having been once, I've been back again and can say the cake selection is always great, and very tasty. The cream teas are awesome. You get to choose your scones, and they come with clotted cream and two types of jam (I had strawberry and lemon curd), with a plain scone and a lemon & poppy seed scone. The scones were massive, and if you're not one with a huge appetite for an afternoon tea then I'd suggest sharing with someone.
I'm looking forward to returning to try something else from their menu, and some more cake!
M. L.
Very helpful and understanding in providing my disabled wife with a good visitor experience. The food was of a good standard with a special mention of the cakes, which are all made on site. The baker definitely knows their stuff.
N. M.
You must not miss this delightful cafe. Excellent range of homemade, mouth watering cakes are on display as soon as you walk through main entrance. The bread pudding comes highly recommended!!!! All the cakes are made fresh each day. A great range of hot food and meals plus drinks of all sorts are available as well. A great ambience, plenty of seating area inside and out, quick at seat table service provided by a very friendly team of polite young people. Well done everyone.
A.
Love the country cakes and nice outdoor seatings especially under this magnificent giant tree with a huge canopy.
D. N.
This place is more than just a cafe, its a lovely venue, with excellent, attentive staff, your always met with a smile.
The cakes are plentiful, something for every taste.
The food menu is also varied. I had a potato and leak soup with crusty bread and can honestly say... "If Carlsburg made soups, they'd of probably made this one"!
R. H.
Dog friendly. Had the hot chocolate and a piece of Dorset Apple Cake. The cake was the best, I asked for the recipe but they wouldn't give it to me, so I will have to go back for another slice. Would definitely recommend, will be back.
J. P.
We had a wonderful afternoon tea. Abundance of sandwiches, warm huge scones with jam and clotted cream and large slices of four different varieties of cake. Pots and pots of tea. Everything beautifully served and presented. Good value at £20 per person. Still full at 7pm this evening!
S. C.
Great service, food and drink. Cyclist friendly and close to the round the Island route.
M. D.
The parking will need improvement if popularity increases. Also when potterh painting prices are a little tricky as you pay for the item your painting, which is fine, but then the price of the paint is added on top after, might as well buy the item then paint it at home.
B. W.
A beautiful place to eat, with gluten free options (including cake). Well worth a visit. And you can even choose a piece of pottery to paint and take home. The kids loved it, one painted a mug the other a bowl. Definitely going back, especially as the Pottery is a great gift when the kids have painted it.
C. B.
Excellent and cosy coffee shop! Staff were lovely and cakes amazing.
Didn't realise you could paint pottery until finished. Lovely experience however ahould advertise the pottery more!
Will definitely go back again
N. C.
I used to always go to Chessell Pottery Cafe. It was shut for quite a while. But it recently re opened. The café is now bigger and they serve wonderful food and drinks. I love this place. I really recommend it and it’s great for an afternoon tea.
R. W.
Great cakes, lovely staff!
Edit; great breakfasts too, and loads of it. I'm going to take off a star though - sorry Chessell. The bacon, though tasty, had that horrible white slime on it that you sometimes get when you grill bacon, and one of my pet hates - packet culture. I really don't want to spend minutes fighting my way into tamper-proof sauce sachets just to get a teaspoon or two of ketchup! Bad for the environment, wasteful, expensive too presumably, and customer-annoying. Just provide it in bottles!
S.
Stopped here with the children. I would have rated it higher, the lady who set us up for painting didn't inform us of the sur charge of £5 for each item. I guess this is to cover the price of paint etc. This said the place was nice and they did nice cakes.
K. G.
Lovely place to go to meet with friends or family. Good food, amazing selection of cakes I've ever seen in one place, and staff so friendly. Well done Chessell.
B. L.
Lovely place to sit on a sunny day. An incredible selection of cakes. The inside seating area looked inviting too
S. B.
Lovely enviroment to eat lunch, excellent easy to use table service, just press the button.
Service was very good and reasonably quick for food cooked to order.
And the food was very nice could not complain.
Fairly small menu for lunch which is sensible to keep standards high and was impressed with Vegitarian options which were different "not just mac cheese or salad" home made and according to my Daughter best veggie burger she's ever had.
Will be returning soon.
M. E.
Always an amazing selection of great cakes available and such a welcome stop for cyclists who need a break before embarking on the next stage of their ride. It's a short and very worthwhile diversion from the Tennyson Trail for walkers and the cafe is dog friendly. The log burner and sofas are lovely in winter but get there early. The shop also sells items produced locally on the Island so worth a visit for presents or reminders of a fab holiday.
a. 1.
Stopped off here on a dog walk and sat in the pretty gardens. Had a lovely sandwich followed by a huge slice of cake from the biggest cake display I've ever seen! We'll definitely be back to try the others!
V. B.
Lovely food, friendly staff, no cream teas left, they're just too good! I think you can pre book them to avoid disappointment. We tried the prawn wraps/sandwiches instead, very delicious.
D. D.
Massive selection of delicious cakes! Great space in and outside to sit. Well worth a visit
R. R. (.
Amazing place, delicious coffee and fabulous homemade cake.. great job guys.. thank you for this experience..
Greetings from Austria..
J. L.
Fabulous cakes with lots of gluten free choices. Pretty outdoor areas to sit
L. G.
Coffee shop excellent! Wide variety of choice on coffees. Lovely home made cake. Lunches till 2pm I was too late for lunch but coffee n cake excellent. They had a chalk board with all coffees explained which was handy. Lots of plain pottery to decorate. Great for children & adults. Well worth a visit.
S. S.
Lovely setting and delicious cake. Friendly staff ensured a pleasant afternoon.
J. W.
Great choice of cakes that looked good and tasted even better. Nice outdoor location to enjoy the cakes and relax.
K. R.
The staff were lovely and helpful, the food was well presented and nice the only down side there was no disabled parking
M. S.
What a fantastic place! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Charlotte looked after us and she was super happy and friendly. The whole experience of painting and having a slice of delicious cake was incredible. Best part of our visit to the island.
D. S.
We have tea and cakes at 2.30pm ish. They run out of scones so disappointed as were others. It is a changed place since we very first visited. No pottery, jams etc to buy any more. Good place to visit though.
S. W.
Great place for a bite to eat. Small menu with selection of light meals, Amazing selection of cakes. Friendly staff, Great peaceful atmosphere to sit back and relax.
S. L.
We arrived around 2pm and had a lovely cake (from a large selection) with a pot of tea. We then chose what to paint from a large variety of items. We stayed past closing (they tidied around us) and were not hurried out the door at all. We actually returned the next day to finish off and enjoyed yet more cake! We were left to paint in our own time and didn't feel rushed at all. Very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere and activity that was aided by lovely friendly staff (I think the young lady at the pottery sales desk was called Charlotte who was particularly nice and even let me show her photos of my cat...I'd chosen to paint a cat plaque!)
N. K.
I would give this place a 4 for its food quality but it is currently let down by poor service. You are left in a queue with several staff wrapping cake when they could be talking to you and seating you. After 5 minutes of hanging around u almost walked out. Not even a acknowledgment. Once you do get seated there stuff is good. Need to pick up the game guys, good service costs nothing but it could cost you customers.
C.
If you love a bit of cake ( or scone) and a tea/ coffee, then this place is a must visit for you! Just make sure you come in the morning before all the best cakes disappear.
E. V.
Faultless. Lingered several hours & had a good go at an extensive selection of their menu items & cannot think how anything that we tried could have been improved. A minor problem (another customer hijacked my sandwich en route to our table) was made good several times over. I can see why they have such good reviews wherever you look.
P. M.
Our second visit and just as good as the first! Friendly service, tasty lunch menu and great selection of cakes. Well organised to deal with covid-19 precautions. Nice outdoor space if weather permits.
K. G.
Great experience here, and found the pottery painting relaxing. Great for kids and adults who like mindful activities. The menu is a bit expensive and the dairy free milks aren't that extensive, but the staff were helpful.
N. K.
Lovely staff. Good pottery painting activities for the whole family. Great food.
A. G.
Lovely staff and fast service. The food is decently priced and good quality.
You also find a good selection of cakes and coffee plus parking for bikes.
S. G.
Great place to go to with the family. Reasonable prices, good friendly service. Fair to say we liked it here. Cafe served good coffee and delicious cakes, the brownie was worth the trip alone. Nice little shop too.
Seems to be under relatively new management and on the right track.
One small thing, the pottery had to be done using acrylic paint as it's 2 weeks for glaze and bake so we couldn't do a bowl or plate that we would be able to eat from. Other places have solved this and do it overnight, maybe not on the IoW, but hey. No biggee as the kids were fine with that. Go visit.
J. H.
What a great cafe great food - amazing cake selection! Staff were friendly and very efficient.
Next time we go to the IOW this afternoon is first on the list for a revist.
A. A.
The staff were absolutely fantastic, the food and drink also amazing. We painted our little trinkets which were reasonably priced and they had a large selection to choose from ranging from small to large. Over all a great afternoon out.
J. A.
Got here around mid-day where the lunch menu is mostly sandwiches and meze boards. We opted for a meat and vegetarian board - and so glad we did. The food is so fresh and tasty - the bread was still warm when it came out.
Their scones are huge, and there's a decent selection of cakes and hot drinks.
Lots of walks and cycle paths around the area, but I'd say it's only a stop on to somewhere else.
C.
We came by after visiting The Needles, and ended up ordering scones and sandwiches for lunch. The quality of the food was fantastic, contactless ordering and payment was easy - definitely don't miss out if you're visiting the area!
J. H.
This was such a surprise. Went to see a pottery. Ended up painting our own pottery and having a fabulously crafty afternoon. The tea shop is really good value (and dogs are VERY welcome). We went back - twice! And the shop is delightful too. My favourite afternoon in a wonderful Isle of Wight week.
M. L.
Pretty café with large trees providing shade in the garden. Children can paint pottery.
D. W.
Absolutely brilliant vegan breakfast.
J. R.
Always a warm welcome, great coffee and delicious cakes, sooooo dog friendly, our pooch 's favourite cafe!! One place open to us all year round, hurray and well done Anna, Mark and your fab team.
C. H.
Great time painting with the family. Collected the finished products little over week later and were very pleased with our efforts and the memories made.
L. S.
Lovely little cafe with unusual fresh home made cakes and snacks. Nice kitchen style sit in area or idyllic grassed courtyard outside. After refreshments, there is a shop with retro games and toys, household goods and pictures but the best bit is the very large range and variety of pots to paint. Perfect for both adults and kids.
I. G.
Nice café in the West Wight. A welcome resting station for walkers or cyclists exploring the beautiful trails on the Island, particularly the Tennyson Trail.
A large selection of homemade cakes and wide range of beverages available. For the hungry explorer there is a good selection of meals.
Definitely worth a visit.
R. H.
Lovely cafe, amazing array of cakes. If you want to paint pottery, be aware that it takes two weeks to fire it!
S. T.
Took my husband for a cream tea ,very disappointed they only do them at weekends , The gardens used to be very pretty and full of flowers very green and loved the tables under the willow, I found the hard landscaping has taken away some of its charm which is a real shame as we used to always love going here.
D. P.
Still making lovely cream teas (plus lots of other food). 😀
L. D.
Booked for Pottery painting in the afternoon, group of 12 with additional three supervising children. Highly recommended had some wonderful pieces painted, a memorable moment
A. H.
Warm and welcoming on a winter day, real fireplace with sofas as well as tables.
Home made soups, good healthy food and naughty cakes. Great place to take children with activities in the pottery.
S. P.
We took our Grandchildren for the first time today, they loved the painting so much that we let them pick another one to paint each, all the Staff are friendly and helpful, their Scones are the best I have ever tasted, we will definitely be going back, a real Gem on our beautiful Island 5*
V. C.
Chai Latte is too weak here - it needs more spice and flavour!
Seems nice for kids to come and paint pottery too be fired.
We had a wonderful seat next to the wood fire on the sofa.
C. L.
Had a most devine Orange and Almond cake. Moist and delicious! Refreshing pot of tea idea after a walk in the area. Excellent place to sit outside in the sunshine, in the shade of a willow tree, or tucked indoors near the log burner.
C.
Fantastic experience of painting pottery, lunch and cake. Definitely recommend for looking for a quality day out with family.
l. M.
Great place for making plates etc with the kids and not too expensive either. Great location and facilities. Cafe sells really nice cakes and the cream tea is the best I have ever had, no question.
A. T. M.
An amazing place to stop and reflect on how amazing the isle of wight is. Amazing cakes
R. K.
It's a good place to have something to eat and drink though they could bring the price down by not serving chips.give the customer the choice. But saying that the food is fresh and delicious.
T. M.
My favourite place 😍 coffee is really good and the cake selection is almost to good, winter its cosy and rustic, summer the outside area is beautiful, such a lovely setting
M. R.
This place has won awards for its cream teas. They are to die for. All served on pretty pottery which if you really like you can purchase in the shop. If you want to spend longer you can go into the pottery and make and paint urself a plate, cup, dish etc
Now under new management so there's been a change around. Go and see for your self
This place is under new management. Went there yesterday and it has changed. Cream teas are just as good as before but shop has gone and pottery part has changed. Gone is the pretty China cups and saucers which was like a trade mark. But the cream teas are excellent!
m. c.
Nice place to visit. Inside and outside eating areas. Beautiful big willow tree to sit under so plenty of shade. There's a stone feature with spring water bubbling through. Good food choices. Bikes for hire there to. Also pottery studio to view.
C. J.
We had tasty cakes and good coffee. While my daughter had great fun painting pottery.
K. H.
Visited on Bank holiday Monday, was quite busy but only a very short wait for seating, made to feel welcome and safe.
First class service and food, highly recommended 👍🏻
P. K.
Had a really nice relaxing morning whilst on Holiday last September Pottery painting. When we collected our Christmas themed Pottery towards the end of our week we were very pleased with the results especially after the firing process as the Pottery had come alive with vibrant colours and a lovely glaze. Hope to return this year.
J. M.
Chessel Pottery has been a favourite of ours for many years, since it won awards for "best scones on the island"! Sadly, despite a lovely makeover of the cafe and very good service we have to mark it down as the scones were very disappointing on this visit. I just hope we got a rogue batch and this isn't the decline of an institution!!!
S. W.
Had an amazing time with my 5yr old grandson here making memories. Unfortunately his artwork got lost in transit. The pottery owner & staff were extremely helpful and after searching high & low in their site, they very kindly sent out a new piece of pottery with modelling foam clay to my grandson as a replacement.
Will definitely be going there again & will recommend to anybody.
Many thanks to all but particularly to Sharon for keeping me up to date on the whole process.
O. V.
Had a lovely afternoon painting pottery with my wife and son, the staff are so friendly they can't do enough for you, the prices are reasonable and it's a lovely place to be. The cake is wicked too!
A. S.
Okay, this is a great place to go when visiting the Island. We've been twice now and it's fab fun to go paint pottery at the beginning of a week and collect it, all fired, at the end 👍. With a Café that serves great food, a little shop and super staff you can go wrong.
M. W.
Fantastic find! Lovely farm tea room off the beaten track. Cycle and family friendly. We found the on the way back from Alum Bay.
J. S.
Delicious coffee and lovely cake.
Also a good place to take children in the school hols to paint some pottery.
T. R.
Very nice place to just sit by the fire or sit at tables and do done crafts. Lovely selection of cakes. The pottery part also very nice but quiet pricey
B. H.
As usual the food was lovely and the staff are amazing but they always are thankyou Barbara Hibberd and family xx
T. H.
Great food, great staff. The owner's are lovely, would highly recommend. Definitely try the blondie!!
T. S.
We had a lovely time there today. The cream tea was lovely. We had plenty of tea to
Drink. Really liked the scones, nice and freash.
C. B.
If you are looking for a cafe with pottery painting classes...you are in luck. We however were looking for a pottery with a shop/cafe...we were not so lucky.
D. L.
Wonderful cakes enjoyed in the cafe . Great service
D. G.
Exceptional Bakewell tart. Definitely NOT Mr Kipling! Great surrounding. Well worth stopping off.
P. P.
Took our grandsons 9 & 10years to Chessell Pottery Barns to try their hands at decorating pots
WOW what a great experience even I had to have a pot to decorate.
Chose your pot, a wide range to choose from little milk jugs butter dishes, bowls and plenty more Penguins, Owls and dragons.
Then select your paints and get creative. We chose 2 mugs and a dragon then there are the sponges to pick with various templates cut out
then start to be creative...
When the painting of the design is complete take to the desk, your details are taken and a collection date given. We collected ours on Saturday am on route to our ferry and the difference was amazing the colours had be come more vibrant Looked Fantastic
If you have timer to spare PLEASE PLEASE visit the pottery you will enjoy
There is even a little café adjoining where the cakes and scones are MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm
S. A.
Lovely atmosphere. I always go for the cream tea and chocolate brownies. Mmmm.
Nice selection of Isle of Wight prints and cards in shop area too.
o. A.
A real gem! We stopped for tea and came upon the finest range of cakes we have seen in a long time! Nice little gift shop as well.
R. B.
Could have designated ♿ and parking with concrete rather than stones. I found it very difficult to push my car down daughter in her wheelchair
B.
Great fun for hours painting and decorating a piece of pottery of your choice. Also do great coffees and hot chocolate at reasonable prices. Cream teas are sublime !!!
C. B.
Very friendly staff, were happy to serve 2 very muddy MTB'ers, amazing selection of cakes, would definitely stop off again when out riding.
D. M.
Recently re opened after changing ownership Chessell can offer a nice day out. Previously pottery area was larger and cafe smaller which has now been reversed. The increase in pottery options are mostly kid focused with various models and figures. Still has selection of crockery and items to be painted and enjoyed but no longer the classic Emma Bridgewater style items. Painting options bow also included dry in approx 20min style and those that need kiln fired (slightly more expensive but eat off level finish).
Cafe has nice selection of lighter foods, snacks etc and still offers cream tea.
Also local products and art available in shop.
L. B.
Lovely atmosphere, great lunch, light bites and cake & drink menu with excellent coffee and teas. Friendly and welcoming for all the family, definitely recommended 👍
M. L.
The food has got more expensive and the scones have gotten smaller. They didn't taste as fresh as normal. The staff were helpful though.
K. B.
Great selection of yummy cakes. Charlotte was very helpful with the pottery painting. We will definately be going back soon.
R. L.
Lovely relaxed setting. Very tasty strawberry cake. Saw a Comma butterfly in the garden - beautiful! Win and Bob Lowman
N. M.
Fab breakfast, lovely decor, very pleasant staff and value for money 🙂
M. S.
Nice cream tea, good portion, bit expensive. Shame the clotted cream is pre-packaged from Cornwall and not local.... food miles, plastic packaging etc etc.
C. K.
Fantastic choice of cakes. Well spaced tables and excellent coffee. Breakfast options are good.
B. T.
Lovely food.Sadly spoiled by very loud ladies on the next table.Almost impossible to hold a conversation with my friend as a result.
M. G.
Food still great, especially the cream tea. But disappointed with the pottery situation as they no longer have a kiln on site so it's a 2 week wait with no option for shipping like there used to be.
s. o.
Stop off on a bike session. Just had a coffee or two . Very friendly staff and good coffee. Will definitely recommend stopping off there when in the area. Really bike friendly.
A. W.
Great venue to visit and lovely friendly cafe and staff cute and friendly resident dog lovely food and selection of homemade cakes and pastries, if you like pottery you can have a paint using your inner artistic designs on some ornaments and cups and plates etc,,,,well worth a visit
s. p.
Lovely place good coffee but £2.99 for a cheese scone ???? Returned 11 months later. Scones reduced in price by 4p , reduced in size by about a third.
R. O.
Lovely little cafe! Dog friendly inside and outside. Friendly staff too. Very nice!
N. E.
Chessell is a lovely relaxing place to go. Best cream tea and the cakes are delicious. Always a pleasure to go there.
C. F.
Great spot. Cakes to die for and breakfast was very yummy ! Really friendly staff.
H. W.
Delicious home-made cakes (such a rarity these days) and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
V. M.
Lots of vegan options. Breakfast, burgers and cakes with top notch coffee. Friendly staff and good service. Highly recommend.
J. J. /.
Great location, great staff, great cake!
J. O.
Food and drinks very good. Nice cafe, garden and atmosphere. Quite busy which led to a long wait for food today though
K. W.
Great cake and great coffee
We took the lovely walk from Brighstone forest
C. G.
The pottery painting studio has gone, a new larger cafe has been moved into the studio and the shop no longer sells the unusual toys and games that it once did so, basically, this previously unique place is now a cafe with the usual cakes etc that you can find at most cafes.
m. b.
Great fish finger sandwich friendly service lovely location we will be back
S. T.
Great, friendly staff. Beautiful setting. Lovely food.
j. p.

Beautiful place with excellent quality food. Lots of different options to decorate and wonderful setting.

Great opportunity for kids and family to have a go at pottery painting. Better to do this at the beginning of a holiday as they keep the item for a few days to glaze, etc.
P. H.
Friendly staff, very Covid aware, good service, fabulous meal ... slightly overpriced although the setting makes up for it somewhat 🙂
B. A.

Having been there quite a few times before I was really looking forward to a cream tea what a disappointment the price gone up by £3 all but 5p and a mini cream tea costing more than last year by 50p and being half the size too, cakes very expensive as well, what a shame as I loved it there but will have to find somewhere else to get my cream tea now
R.
