This is a great place with a huge selection of board games and such friendly staff who even had dog beds ready! MAKE SURE YOU BOOK! We thought it'd be fine as it was a dark January but we only managed to get a table for a couple hours so don't make our mistake!! I recommend the biscoff alcoholic shake - so very good!

Love this place! It's so fun and the food is great. You get an individual tab when you arrive which makes it easy to pay the bill at the end when you're with a group. The staff are super friendly and always looking to help. The cake is also always fantastic. There are lots of vegan options! Make sure to book in advance as it's very popular.

Great place to visit, we took the kids but we also have adult friends that regularly visit as well. The food was great and the sweets were good two. Massive selection of games, random games I've never heard of. We were given a gift voucher before this visit from a lovely couple which is a great gift idea for all. We will be popping back soon as the kids have spotted lots of games they want to play.

I’ve visited a couple of times and absolutely love this place! I’ve come with different friends each time and all of her loved it too. There are a huge variety of games and the staff are happy to offer guidance, suggestions and even beginner proof instructions on how to play. They’ve got their recommendations spot on every time. Then there’s the food - incredible and such great value! Drinks also fantastic value! I’d recommend this game cafe to everybody, every time!

I thought the choice of games was very modern and for someone who prefers the old classics I was unable to find many I would recommend going for the experience but I wouldn’t say it was worth how much the bill was and not somewhere I would rush back to

I’ve been to Snacks and Ladders several times. I’ve always found friendly staff, yummy food, an incredible assortment of games and very good cocktails. They do some really fun special nights like themed quizzes (my team won Harry Potter 🥳), charity nights and more. An amazing place and an Isle of Wight must visit!

We absolutely love Snacks and Ladders, we've been visiting since they first opened as Board and have watched them grow and evolve. Our son has autism and we've always been treated with the most accommodation and kindness, we've had some brilliant game suggestions made and found new favourites and there is always a helping hand to find a new game or understand the rules. I always feel so chilled when we visit as I sit back and relax and become immersed in some escapism. The food is super, it's well priced and for the quality of food on offer it's great value, there's a good range of hot food and light snacks or cake, the cakes are incredible! We always feel looked after by all the staff but not hovered over we feel left to enjoy our games unless we need someone. The pricing is all very clear and easy to understand so you can plan a visit to suit your budget. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed and Snacks and Ladders makes it in our top 5 haunts!

Firstly, excellent pun in the name. Strong start. Went for lunch and fun-times with my sister, husband and our kids. Reallllllly impressed with the range of games on offer and absolutely knocked sideways by the quality of our food and friendliness of the team. Vegan? You'll be SO happy here, loads of options. Our favourite lazy afternoon. Delicious lunch (willing adapted and tweaked for 1 picky eater and 1 with dietary req), and loads of games to entertain us before, during and after. Remember folks, it's not FAST food, it's GOOD food, and it's worth waiting for. The plates are loaded and 2 big appetites are always happy. We regularly find a new game to play and our games cupboard at home certainly wouldn't look the same were it not for our visits here. Thanks guys - always a smile, from you and from us.

Absolutely amazing! Came here on a Saturday evening and before we knew it my friend and i had stayed for over 3 hours. A huge array of games, the food was delicious with seperate Menus for vegan and gluten free, with a VARIETY OF CHOICE which is rare! For 3 hours of games, food,snacks, milkshake and drinks we spent £21 each. Not a single fault for Snacks and Ladders and we are already arranging to come back. Thank you :)

Fantastic gaming location for an evening with friends. They have basically any board game, card came or quiz game under the sun. Do yourself a favour and head here for a brilliant time. They charge by the hour. Where in the world can you spend £2 per person for an hour of games. I know I can't think of any. To the person leaving the one star review complaining about the £2 charge to play from any of the 700+ games. You philistine. Clearly you were brought up in a place where reading the instructions were optional or perhaps even discouraged. I blame your parents.

Was really surprised by this place! They had a great selection of board games on offer and they're all laid out in a way that makes it easy to know the complexity and time required. Staff here were very friendly and knowledgeable of the games we were playing and were happy to offer help when stuck with rules. Brilliant time - great hosts, food, drinks, and games in perfect condition. Never considered myself a board game person beyond Cluedo and Monopoly but the range of stuff I'd never heard of and available was amazing. Went with my wife, and 7 / 11 year old kids. Never heard them laugh so much and even walked out having bought a game from the cafe. Will definitely be back and recommend to all - great for a rainy day, long summer evening, whatever is going on!

Great little find, the choice of games is fantastic and the food is really great too. We had starters which the owner really went out of her way to help us with our dietary requirements. The mains were also really nice, the cauliflower curry was worth a special mention. They aslo have a nice selection of drinks and desserts. Had an amazing time here today celebrating our wedding anniversary without the kiddies! The 3 hours flew by and we had so much fun playing games I'd never heard of and there were still so many more I wanted to play (and I own a lot!), The collection is great. Staff were friendly and helpful, giving good advice on what games were good and an idea of what they were about. Nice choice of sandwiches and cakes,coffees,milkshakes and drinks available with dairy free options available. The paninis we have were delicious as was the cake. Will definitely be returning with the kiddies and with friends. My only advice is phone and book as they were busy and you don't want to be disappointed.

Snacks & Ladders is my go to place for a fun time with my friends or loved ones. Their fantastically priced menu, with a cracking range of options for all dietary needs is the highlight of any visit. I wouldn’t choose anywhere else, the hourly service charge is honestly a bargain. Best place to visit on the island- we’re so lucky to have such a great place on our door steps.

Concept is great to take the kids to kill an hour or two. Food and drink is overpriced and as they charge by the hour, they clockwatch too, so expect to pay nearly a tenner extra for just over an hour. Great selection of games and staff are genuinely friendly. We will visit once a month due to costs or we would hang out there more often. Tourist Trap.

This place is fantastic and a bit more, the range of games available is very diverse, and everybody can find something that would appeal. We were in a a group of four with a table booked for three hours (you really need to book a slot in advance), we managed to play three games we hadn't heard of before all while being waited on at the table for drinks and snacks. The atmosphere was so relaxing and the staff so friendly you feel like you could be round a friends house! Can't wait until our next visit ☺

Love this place it’s a great way to relax at the end of the day. Wonderful place. Table service was a privilege in the reall comfy high backed seats. The board game selection was varied, good, but also the quality of the games was high. No missing pieces or torn cards. We played 3 games in the hour we were there, a word game "don't say", Lego minator and operation. The games were well displayed and tidy. I enjoyed the coffee, they have soya as an alternative and the chocolate fudge cake was dairy free. Seemed very accommodating. The staff were friendly and approachable, but not overbearing. Affordable prices will definitely be coming back.

Have visited twice this week. Once with a friend and once for the social night. Great range of games varying from Orchard toy games and family favourites like buckaroo (which caused almost all guests to jump tonight when one table was playing) as well as games that take a bit more thinking such as Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride. Had very friendly staff who are more than willing to make suggestions and help you learn the rules. Nice selection of drinks, lovely paninis and great cake (even had a vegan option) at resonable prices. It is table service and was worried that gaming would be interrupted by constant questions about food and drink but staff are great at asking at just the right time. Had two absolutely brilliant evenings and would advise everyone to give it a try before you say I don't like board games. Will be a regular visitor.

Lovely night here last night with the family. We'd been to a board game cafe in Croydon a few weeks ago and were keen to try the Island's one out. 6 of us from 21 to 49 yoa in our party and the age range throughout the cafe was even broader. Had a great night here yesterday with a group of friends. I'd not been to a board game cafe before so was unsure what to expect. They have a huge library of games to choose from with things to suit every taste from the silly to the more cheeky/adult (Scrawl was our favourite) as well as all the classics. You are free to borrow as many as you wish throughout your stay (we did the 3hour for £4 a head option which flew by). There is a good drinks menu and I think they are using Island Roasted coffee and the cakes are supplied by The Funky Cakery. They also serve a small selection of paninis/light bites and some luxury milkshakes. A really great evening, so much fun that we didn't even check our phones for 3 hours and that's saying something for us!

I've been playing board games for a long time, but there are thousands out there to choose from. Board takes a simple idea of a cafe and good customer service and pairs it well with a fantastic selection of board games. I own a fair few and played at least as many as I own, and I've not even heard of a lot of the games they own. I popped in for one of the shorter bookings (1hr) and played four games I've not had the chance to play. I'll be heading back to try out some more that I don't own! If you've not yet tried Board, get yourself over but I'd book first! If you've only played monopoly or cluedo, but want to try a euro style game where you'll require some thoughts or strategy (or even try to save the world from a Pandemic), there's a wealth of games to choose from. The service is great and the team will happily recommend some games that will suit your complexity level or timing requirements. And if you fancy monopoly or cluedo, they have that too!
