Breakfast was superb, tasted great and was really good value. Had a smoothie to accompany it and that was also really good. I believe you can have them to go. Atmosphere was very laid back and the interior was cool too. Really liked the music which was being played. Plenty of outdoor seating available. Perfect way to start the day before watching the cricket.

Have you give them 4 and not 5 stars just because what I first wanted wasn’t on the menu - that special something being the sweet potato mash and avocado on toast. I would have thrown an egg on top of that too, but ok that end had avocado and egg on toast along with the hummus in a side pot. Almost a cliche you say? Well when I tell you that it was recovery food from a concert the night before you can finalise your own conclusions.

Nice food and the coffee was fab. Staff seemed a bit unfazed, we stood in the doorway for a while before being told to seat ourselves, then we had to collect our own condiments etc. Not bad.

It’s not far off being good but doesn’t deserve it’s high rating on Google. Place is quite cool coffee shop / Cafe Smoked salmon and cold scrambled eggs, on fairly poor bread - bread is not supermarket bad but it’s not good either. English breakfast very forgettable, other then the eggs which were both poor and overcooked it said 2 eggs but I couldn’t tell if there were 2 very small eggs or just 1 small egg - yoke was broken and hard - any decent place would of put that in the bin and started again. Seating area was also cold, everyone with their coats on as the window was open to prevent condensation.

This came recommended to us... However we found it cold, and people kept leaving the door open, it was freezing. The food was tepid, it was quite cramped, our full order wasn't bought to us without going and reminding.... Lots of room for improvement, but a nice feel overall.

Nice vibe and really busy. The baristo wasn't able to keep up with his orders, so we got our drink after we finished our breakfast. The food was okay, the sausages a bit dry and part of the cheese burnt. The coffee was worth waiting for.

Great sandwiches, meals and snacks, always a friendly welcome. Now, following a post-pandemic do-over, it's less cosy, still tasty, but with a relatively limited menu. Still worth a visit, the coffee's good and whiling away a half hour in the sun sunshine still enjoyable.

Missing a lot of options on our visit. Leaving little GF choice, one of our orders was forgotten another taken then changed - pity as I have heard good things. The young man serving was lovely, apologetic and welcoming. No refund was offered of the difference between original order and replacement. On a hygiene note massive fake eyelashes and loose hair for someone handling food is not appropriate.

Ok food but not fast, we were told up to 30 mins wait on food which we were fine with, after 45mins I asked how long it might be I was met with a grumpy Woman in the kitchen who told me it would be about 7mins... I don't mind waiting that sort of time for food but it was just a jacket spud that had been put in microwave

This place has such an amazing selection of toasties, baguettes and paninis and I absolutely love coming here. The coffee has a really rich flavour that I've never experienced from any other coffee shop. The decor is fairly simple but honestly that makes it feel more like an independent business rather than a corporate clone so I wouldn't change that anyway! Staff seem really nice and everything gets made quickly. Could not recommend enough

Ordered a sausage roll, classic sandwich, and a flat white and all three were perfect. Can’t tell you the last time I had a well made flat white; this one had perfect taste and consistency. 10/10.

Had the All Day Breakfast. Very nice for a quick bite to eat. Mushrooms and tomatoes were a little sloppy from all the grease, and the sausages were quite tough. Not a big deal though. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. An extensive menu with some good choices, veggie and vegan options. Would definitly recommend the smoothies!

Had a veggie breakfast, it was just ok ...size was just right... As had 3 veggie sausages one egg on the vine 5-6 cherry tomatoes several button mushrooms and baked beans pot as well as toast....I was disappointed though that the sausages were undercooked especially one of them was nearly raw...the mushrooms far to tiny poor texture and flavour the rest was good...( I am evaluating as a chef) the sausages should be well done crispy on the outside... I would give either one large flat mushroom or just 3-4 standard mushrooms steam cooked...would definitely raise my rating to 5 *****. The soya latte was perfect though fairly small ...I still would recommend this place.

I love Hartleys! I probably visit here about once a month. Their food is excellent and the pricing is really good for the city centre. There's usually somewhere to sit and the outdoor seating is lovely in the summer time. They do great sandwiches and I would definitely recommend their smoothies. They have vegetarian and vegan options and generally a great variety of options to choose from. They also have a good selection of teas.

We were in Nottingham for Annie's Jamboree but upon discovering that they couldn't cater for my partners gluten free needs on their breakfast menu we had to find somewhere else to eat quickly, to get back to our friends. Hartley's was recommended to us by a friend's quick Google search. The owner is gluten and dairy free herself and was incredibly helpful. The food was lovely and the staff handling the gluten free food do so separately to all the other food so there is no cross- contamination. Washing hands, different utensils, chopping boards, different butter etc. Everything you would do at home and rarely find out and about :) We'll definitely be coming back!!

Have eaten breakfast here a couple of times now and as someone restricted to a gluten free diet, Hartleys is brilliant. A full English breakfast is available with gluten free toast & sausages. I had a tuna baguette and it was massive and tasty. My dining guest had panini with cheese, ham and chorizo.

Nice, clean and friendly cafe. The food and the drink are two separate businesses, so be aware of that. Food and drink are nothing to write home about, but very reasonably priced and beats McDonalds any day of the week. The full English is what you'd expect. The tea is served as a cup of hot water with tea bag and milk on the side. Sugar is in sachets in jars on tables. Cheap and good. Lovely atmosphere. Papers are usually available on tables. Perfect place to meet with friend or to kill time while an appointment rolls around. Child, disabled and wheelchair friendly. Fire safe. Good sturdy building. Customer base tends to generally be outgoing and approachable folk, both locals and tourists. A well deserved solid four stars.

According to my team, me only giving three stars because ‘I didn’t try the food’ makes me some sort of monster. That’s now been rectified. Hopefully I can start to reclaim my lost humanity with the two other stars you deserve. Took the team here for coffee. Mango smoothies were amazing, coffee delicious and staff friendly. There aren't more stars because we didn't eat so I can't voucher for the whole experience. That said, the choice was good and ingredients looked delicious. Next time we'll go for lunch.
