J. S.Decided to try this place after learning that it is no.1 for breakfast in Nottingham. It’s a little bit out of the way but well worth the effort. Very small, very busy but excellent service, friendly staff and great food. The cappuccino was the best I have had in a long time. Lovely.
N. B.Friendly service, does get busy but we got in at a good time, table service was good and food came really quickly. Food was incredible and scrambled eggs were perfect for my partner. We had a flat white, almond milk latte, oat honey and banana smoothie as well as our food. It was right round the corner from where we were staying and a good location in Lace Market.

The food was absolutely fantastic, the service quick, and the coffee a proper continental one. The shop also sells a selection of authentic Italian biscuits and organic pasta/other produce. Ditch the hotel breakfasts buffet and visit the Hungry Pumpkin, you won't be disappointed! 10/10 from us, well done guys!

A few tables outside not many but we managed to grab one... Overlooking the most beautiful church on a cobbled road, perfect for watching the world go by
Really nice menu, we both went for the traditional breakfast... Mine was the smaller version and more than enough... Doorstop toast complemented the full English. Not forgetting Italian ☕ what could be better
J. H.I ordered the soup of the day, Caesar chicken salad and a can of coke. It all came to £11 and could pay with American express. Though I'm not a fan of croutons, the toast was lovely alongside the leak and potato soup. Whilst I enjoyed the Caesar chicken salad, once the meat had gone, I left the rest.
Very reasonable price and will certainly come again when I can. Got to look after these small businesses.

Thankfully, not only was what I had read accurate, if anything it was underplayed !
Very polite and friendly staff.
The food on display in the chill cabinet is mouthwatering, which bodes well for what you order off the menu. My friend chose the hungry pumpkin breakfast, whilst I had halloumi, poached egg, and avocado on sourdough toast.
The food was not only tasty but beautifully presented. The coffee has a magnificent aroma and not too bitter taste. Having seen the size of the portions others had ordered, it is fair to say that it is not any value for money but really good quality fresh food.
I cannot recommend this small family run establishment enough. Every time I come to Nottingham from now on I will have lunch at this fantastic business.
Every town needs a great independent business like Hungry Pumpkin !

J. W.I go to Hungry Pumpkin regularly as they are just across from my work. You can't fault this place for breakfast and lunch. I love the Avocado, Chorizo and Poached eggs on Sourdough. Good selection of sandwiches, salads and the omelettes are another favourite served with a big salad, its enough for two. This place is a lunch staple in the Lace Market especially as there isn't much else at this end near St Mary's Church. I like the staff as well they are friendly and efficient.

S. E.It's so hard to find a traditional café these days and this place is just amazing. They will do your basic lunchtime snacks, such as beans, cheese and eggs on toast, and all day English breakfast. They also serve a huge range of other things to eat that it almost beomes a problem on what to have! You can also ask them to swap food items if you wish. Prices for food and drink is not at all expensive (beans on toast only £2.50 as of April 2017).
Staff are lovely and efficient. Can't recommend enough!

Although not cheap am sorry but that is irrelevant in this case as it just ticks all my boxes for hygiene, friendly staff, busy, prosperous, huge range of quality lunches in such a small space.
