We had such an amazing time. The customer service was great, suggesting games based on what he have played previously and helping to explain new games as well. Food was delicious and really good prices! So
nice to have so many choices as a vegan. Looking forward to going back very soon - I would definitely recommend!

An all-vegan, dog friendly, board game cafe? These are my people! Honestly, only been here once, and only to eat before a gig, but the place had an amazing vibe. It was packed with people playing all kinds of games, including a card game tournament and loads of D&D groups. Lots of board games on offer to play, and well stocked shop too. The food isn't fancy, but it's tasty, well prepared and cheap. I only wish I lived closer so I could go more regularly!

This was a beautiful experience. The vegan cakes, amazing games and new found friendships. If you happen to be a word game fan then I would suggest you choose Letter Jam! Ps: The owners are wonderful people.

Consistantly just the most friendly staff. Some game shops can be quite intimidating but I always bring my friends here because I know how great it is. Ability to rent a table to play your own games is great but their collection of board games is substantial. Also a great range of food for alternative diets.

Warm and friendly. This is such a lovely, relaxed safe-space for anyone to go and hang out at. Loads of games, if that's your thing you're sure to meet like minded folks there. The staff are really friendly and there's a great selection of vegan food: panninis, pizzas and cake. There should be more places like this in the world.
H. L.
This is a kind of library of over a 1000 boards games. You pay £5 and you can stay for ages playing any games you choose. Family games to more specialist games. It's a vegan cafe too and their coffee is lovely. You can also get help on rules etc. Great place, open every day I think. Busy in the evening with students. Good vibe.

THE BEST VEGAN PLACE IN NOTTINGHAM.
Staff are so thoughtful and sweet, food is absolutely delicious snack and chilling food. Stocked full of boardgames which are so affordable to rent and play with. We got to do a painting session today whilst enjoying a vegan panini and coffee and even at 1030 it was lively and full of people having fun. If you like geeky stuff and love vegan food and happy energy this is the place to go.

This is my favourite place to hang with friends in town. The staff are brilliant and kind, the food and drinks are lovely. I come back here over and over again and its always a great time. From just having a coffee whilst waiting for the bus or spending a evening playing a game of D&D with my buddies.

The food here is lovely, I'm not vegan and all that they serve is vegan food but I really enjoyed it and would go again. We had bacon and cheese Panini and cheesy chips (all vegan) and it was delicious. The coffee and mochas we had were lovely. All of it was at a good price as well.
I have never seen so many games in one place and felt welcome from the moment I walked in. The selection of games and stuff to buy was so big I could have spent my whole wage. I have seen collections of stuff I didn't even know existed.
I live in South Wales and I'm looking forward to my next Nottingham trip to visit this place. I will take advantage of the tuition offered as well so I can start playing some new games. There were people aged from as young as around 5 up to retirement in there playing, eating and having a great time.
What a nice shop to go visit and satisfy my inner geek and will be bringing my family next time as a day out.
J. P.
Calling all geeks, especially vegan geeks! This place was such a great find! We had a great time playing games (£5 per person for unlimited access to games for a day) and even better that all their food and drinks are vegan friendly and delicious!
Z. W.
Nice place and friendly staff! Somewhere to go to play board games, but you do have to pay to access them. The café has a wide variety of good vegan options (Dice Cup rightly advertise themselves as vegan exclusive). This is also a shop to buy card games, collectables, etc. I was a little disappointed not to see a wider range in this element of the store; for example, there were very few 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' products. Would recommend :)
V. P.
A really wonderful place to spend time with friends. It's one of those places where adults can go and doesn't involve alcohol.
The staff is very friendly. Although if they say "I come back to you in a minute" or "I'll send someon" well... the never do 😂 but I can understand, the place can be really busy. The environment is really good
N.
We went for the first time on Friday, staff very helpful and friendly. Great afternoon out, great value for money. Kids really enjoyed it, we will definitely be back! Thanks so much 🙂🙂
L. R.
Well all I can say is thank you! 3 adults, 4 teenagers and 2 under 5s visited today and all I can say is we had the best time here! I've not laughed so much and played like a massive kid for ages! A relaxed environment, friendly staff, amazing coffee and games to suit everyone no matter what age or gaming abilities.
I think the only recommendation I would make is replacement of the cluedo answer papers coz we had to write our own out.
Thank you again we will defo be visiting again soon, if we was more local we would be here so much more!!!

Dice cup is a fantastic gaming center for card games and board games. Hosting many event a month for a huge selection of card games.
There food, including cakes, are all vegan, and they HVe a fantastic selection of loose leaf tea from the amazing bird and blend.
If your into TCG games, or have a group of people who all wanna play the same board game, ask about booking a table.
J. K.
Great place to play board games with friends. Huge game choice. Friendly staff. Selection of drinks and vegan food is available. Nice coffee.
S. G.
Awesome place! Brilliant atmosphere, lovely food that's really great value and thousands of games, perfect for big groups!
A. S.
One of the best gaming stores I've ever set foot into, such friendly staff with a HUGE selection of board games and TCG's and delicious milkshakes.
M. O.
Awesome family time spent here. You could bring your own games or just use theirs for a token. The experience was beautiful.
A. B.
Awesome board game cafe and great that it's fully vegan. Will be back again!
A. R.
Board game cafe (£5 cover charge per person) with vegan snacks, cakes and small meals available. I recommend the milkshakes and sausage roll!
The board games are well organised and staff are happy to chat and make recommendations. You can stay as long as you like too. Great way to test drive a game before buying!
It's worth noting that the tables are quite close together. For larger people like myself it can be a squeeze getting to and from your table. I recommend asking for a table at the front if needed. It is also quite noisy because of all the activity so you might want to bear that in mind too if this affects you.
S. B.
Amazing place! Lovely and friendly staff that help out boardgame newbies like me! There's a great variety of games and all clearly labelled by difficulty and player count, food was amazing too and really well priced!
T. H. A.
My first thought: Awesome! As a big boardgame fan from Germany, working in pontefract, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that boardgame cafes are a thing here in Britain so I'm able to satisfy my addiction. So today 2 co-workers and I decided to check this cafe out and I must say I was amazed.
A really nice place with good playtables, a impressive collection of games and a really nice friendly staff. You even can bring your own games and find other players to play with. On a scale from 1 - 10 they hit me with a crit for 19 points 🌟
I can't wait for my next day off so I can come back for more.
D.
Played a game of DnD with the owner, very lovely place with great hot chocolate!
Offers a good selection of board games as well as food to munch on whilst using one of their many and well priced tables. Well worth a visit
E. H.
Great place to play games with friends and/or family with great vegan food. A lot of different games to choose from and the staff are nice and friendly.
P. S.
The staff are all very friendly, and go out of their way to be helpful - if you’re visiting for the board games, they have a great selection, will help you in picking a new game by finding out what kinds of games you already like, and then take the time to help you to understand how the game works, to save you time going through the instructions. The weekly quiz is excellent, and is very welcoming to newcomers - we have been coming to this every week for a few years now, and keep coming even though we’ve moved further away. The food is also really nice and have a good variety of things on the menu to choose from. Would very much recommend.
L. F.
Great place to play board games (£5 each person for the day) and buy games, with a good selection of drinks and food.
V. S.
The most impressive boardgaming cafe/shop I have seen so far. With really nice staff members. In case some people are wondering - available menu is vegan.
Also, if you want to play games with your friends (for a small fee) you are in for a treat. The selection of boardgames that are available is overwhelming. Play area is tidy and has a few high quality tables. This is definitely a place I would visit constantly if I were living in Nottingham.
T. Y.
Excellent prices, friendly staff and none of them buckled under the pressure of the recent Digimon Feat event which I attended. Very impressed.
A. V.
Loved the shop, the staff were all amazing and who doesn't love a great vegan food selection after a hard day of board gaming. 5/5 😁
J. W.
Friendly place will help customers with anything and the food and drinks are top tier. Also one of my favourite places in Nottingham
J. T.
An incredible and relaxed place for people who love board games to come in and have some fun. It's wheelchair accessible, all the foods are vegan friendly and the staff are really nice. I recommend the Munchkin panini if you go there, even if you don't know what DnD means.
Z. B.
Great little board game cafe, wonderful selection the staff were great and reasonably knowledgable when we needed to ask anything .
The food menu has a small but great selextion and all offerings are vegan, they also have adopted an order to the table feature using QR codes at the tables which I thought was a great touch but not all of the food/cake/ice cream was offered digitally, would definitely visit again.
N. S.
Great place so happy with the Vegan options. Such a great place will definitely be back.
K. W.
We've been wanting to check this place out for ages and weren't disappointed when we finally made it (we don't live local or we'd be regulars).
Great selection of games, friendly staff who know what they're talking about, and great vegan food at cheap prices.
We'll be back next time we're in town, and I'm sure our local mates that we came with will be there before that :)
J. H.
I've been here multiple time with my partner and friends. A great selection of cards and board games, amazing vegan food and friendly staff. My go to place for Pokemon cards and we have even started to drop by after a night out to grab some food and packs.
A. B.
Sells lots of games, big and small + boosters + single cards.
Cafe is tasty and gaming area always has availability (there's loads of room).
P. L.
Great selection of games to play and buy, and the café does nice food and drinks! Plenty of tables most of the time though it can get pretty busy at the weekends understandably :)
J. K.
Spent all day here today playing D&D, and as always the staff were perfectly lovely, and the coffee, cake and food were totally on-point. All veg/vegan, naturally. Can't recommend enough for a nice, laid-back gaming experience.
S. S.
Great place for gaming. The foods good too. My only criticism is that it would be good to have a meat alternative on the menu.
E. H.
A great selection of games, good food and knowledgeable staff. My only issue is that the heating is very minimal (portable heaters), it got very cold
E. R. (.
Great place, lovely staff, good prices and range of products. Try the paninis, very tasty, plus a good sized portion of chips for £2. Weekly tournaments are always fun and a visit here is recommended.
E. B.
Lovely staff, the place itself is atmospheric and the products are of high quality. I recommend it to everyone!Lovely staff, the place itself is atmospheric and the products are of high quality. I recommend it to everyone!
C. W.
Lots of games, good vegan food, what's not to like?
L.
Really amazing place, I went in on Saturday with my friend and we paid £3 for a table and sat in there all day playing Card Games. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food and drink served here is amazing.
M. C.
A very welcoming inclusive place.
Helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Well stocked with good quality and range of goods.
B. S.
Excellent choice of board games for a reasonable price of £5 for the whole day. Staff is also very jolly and helpful to help.you in suggesting a selection of games.
J. H.
Really nice atmosphere and all food is vegan. What else can I wish for. Also its good for just chilling with a book, same as play a table game or meeting friends.
D.
Had an amazing day playing DnD in The RPG Room, equipped with Bluetooth music, mood lighting and a gaming table with inset grid and glass on top so we could draw our maps and things. Had a great laugh, food was lovely and the people there really friendly.
Saw games on the shelves I haven't seen in years. Will definitely come back and geek out again. Recommend 100%!
M. D.
A cracking place to try out some board games you've heard about but don't want to pay £50 & realise you don't like it.
A brilliant way to spend an afternoon in Nottingham.
Eat, Drink & roll some dice.
D. T.
Lovely shop with great staff. Plus some nice pulls on my pre-release!
p. u.
Lovely open shop experience. Plenty of room to browse, games are competitively priced and the staff were super friendly. I could have happily spent all day chatting with them about games. Will definitely return for future purchases.
E. H.
Amazing and considerate staff. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys table top games. Food looked great too!
N. N.
Amazing in every way. Big space for playing games, of which, there is a huge selection. Great staff, you are always made to feel welcome and they are always happy to help. If you go down on a Thursday evening, there is a meet up where you can play for cheap and find people to play with. Finally, the vegan cafe, lovely food at reasonable prices. I have been a regular for over a year and I cannot see that changing
K. B.
Excellent service, lovely, relaxed atmosphere and brilliant food options and quality. It is entirely vegan but some of the vegan foods I tried were delicious and would love to try the rest of the menu.
The vegan ice cream they sell is really something else!
Tons of board games on display both for sale and to use to play with of course, quite a large space which is needed with functional tables and absolutely brilliant value for people who want to spend time there. (Just pay a £5 entry fee).
Loads of board games on offer from mystery to fantasy, casual and family friendly, single player, low and high strategy/complexity, there is a lot of variety on offer.
This was my first visit but would definitely like to visit more and actually try all the games that caught my eye. I can see myself potentially spending a LOT of time here in future, seems like a very lovely, positive environment.
Thanks very much.

Very unique place. Have been visiting The Dice Cup with my partner for many years now to play boardgames. All the staff are very friendly, there is plenty of space to sit down and spread out. Amidst Covid they are taking a very safe approach to visitors including wearing face masks when walking about, but we were able to take them off whilst sat playing. £5 fee per person to come in and play from their massive selection of board games. Staff are also happy to provide game recommendations and I'm sure would help with learning (if they have time!). They do have several signs up saying no food and drink allowed inside that's not purchased there. As a non-vegan, I'm not a big fan of the menu as I don't like fake meats / cheese. However on my last visit the menu has expanded and I had some delicious sweet potato fries (massive portion for about £3). They also have good bakery treats (although I think they'd be tastier if not vegan). Prices quite reasonable for food. Drinks are pricy and I didn't rate the diet coke. But we definitely will continue to support the place as it's a great addition to Nottingham. They also allow us to bring our dogs with us which is rare for many places in Notts.
K. Y.
Love this place. We travel to Nottingham mainly to come here! Love that it's vegan! Love the adorable chill dog! The staff are super friendly and there's a large selection of games. Only comment is the furniture is a bit old and the toilets might need a rework but that stuff comes with time. Keep up the good work guys!
H. T. (. t. o. a. o.
A great place to disconnect from the LCD and social media and network world, into one to one or face to face world, like the golden era 😊👍🇩🇿
N. M.
Was okay has a good range of stuff, but was a little messy, still would recommend!
H. L.
This is an awesome place to go if you love board games! They have a sweet comics shop in-store and an excellent section dedicated to trading card games (I try and go here every time a new Magic set is out), along with a wide range of board games to play and reasonably priced vegan food. I have had excellent experiences with the staff who have always been kind and helpful, and patient as I try and navigate areas of nerddom that I haven't been in before. I can't recommend this place enough.
A. H.
Large array of board games to choose from and a great relaxing place to play them.
M. H.
Great place for table top gaming, welcoming, nice snacks and tea, pretty sure they're all vegan. Good selection of modern board games. Comfy couch area, large area for gaming. It gets a bit warm in there because it has lots of windows. Good comic selection. My husband got very sweaty on the wall from the car park to the shop: Bonus Star! Would recommend a towel.
J. D.
Great atmosphere and friendly people willing to lend you a deck to play magic the gathering, just ask. Play your own games any day for a £1 or rent from a huge catalogue of board-games for £5 per person for all-day play and one of the staff will help you learn how to play it quickly. On Thursdays the games rental is only £1 per person! Wheelchair accessible toilets and good choice of vegan food and drinks, cakes and snacks. Sells a wide selection of cards, games, dice, comics, role-playing and game paraphernalia.
D. C.
Extremely happy to see the doors open again, stocking a fantastic range of gaming supplies. Even something I could not see on the shelf will be investigated with suppliers with zero hassle. Glad to be able to visit again.
C. C.
I love this places to play a board game and can not wait when we can do it again soon. Also sells really nice board games. They also sell loads of of different card training games too.
S. K.
Great board game cafe with good selection of vegan friendly light bites and cake. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Pay a small fee to play any of the games they have in their library. You can peruse comics store as well as the games they have available. A great place to come if you want to try out games or need a cereal place to host a games day with friends.
A. B.
A real favourite haunt whenever I am in Nottingham. Always friendly and very knowledgeable staff who can recommend and explain board games. No pressure to play they just let you get on with the game. Well priced drinks and food to. If you bring your own games you can even play for free. Decor is basic but the atmosphere makes up for that. Wheel chair accessible. Enjoy!
A. D.
Great value on a Thursday evening (£2.50 from 17 March 2022) massive choice of games, tasty vegan snacks and cakes.
M. T.
A brilliant board game cafe in the centre of Nottingham, run by game enthusiasts. Perfect place to meet, relax and have a game or two. Great for families wanting to try out some new games.
They have a well stocked games library, plus you can buy games and comics here as well, and they have a really good selection :)
Another stroke of genius is that the cafe is vegan with a range of tasty snacks including cakes and cupcake - yum!
Recommended!
V. K. B.
Loved it! Awesome atmosphere and the staff are great and very friendly. Definitely recommend either you are a geek or if you just wanna spend time with a group of friends playing some fun games. Don't let stereotypes deceive you this is for any group that wants to pay any board/card/roleplay game.
K. M.
I enjoy playing here, it's a shame all the food is vegan as most players I know aren't, would be great if vegan food was the main option but there were a couple of non vegan options, opposite to a usual café that includes vegan food on the menu. Other wise, the staff are super friendly and very cheery, which welcomes people in. They have a great selection of games to play, unless you bring your own, and, based on the few I've played, are in really good condition.
Another downfall of course is that the toilets get used by a lot of people who, lets just say don't always have the best aim, but the staff are quick to clean up and replenish the supplies.
In summary it's a good place all round with a couple of issues that can be easily overlooked.
C. W.
Do you like board games, or deck building games? If yes, then this is the place for you. With hundreds of games to choose from you're never short of finding something you'll enjoy. The staff are helpful and friendly, atmosphere is comfortable and it is only a short walk from the town centre. Food and drinks are served here. No alcohol, which is fine as children can be present with family, and the food is all vegetarian/vegan friendly. It is £4 to play any game you want and are welcome to stay for as long as you like. They regularly post to the Facebook page about upcoming events, and when they have new stock available for purchase. My only critique is to move where there games are stored. Keep them away from the harmful UV coming through the windows, and store them vertically in order for the boxes to last longer.
G. S.
Cheap place to chill and play some games with friends. There's a huge selection of games to choose from which are all in good condition. The menu is nice with plenty of refreshments, all vegan too. There isn't any alcohol unfortunately but alcohol isn't always required 😜
K. T.
Very good selection of board games, many of which are limited or special editions. Owner Matt incredibly knowledgeable about his stock. Very large catalogue of games you can sit down and play over a coffee, and generally friendly bunch who are welcoming to newcomers.

This place is amazing. It's got a huge gaming area that is wheelchair-accessible via a ramp, and the entire cafe is laid out to be friendly for wheelchair users (if some of the areas are a little tight to navigate!). The full menu, every single item, is vegan. I'm not sure if the items are fully Whole Foods, Plant-Based compliant, but I wouldn't be surprised if at least one item was or that the staff will expand the menu to include this.
Pay-It-Forward is available, so you can buy something for someone who might be a little down on their luck or experiencing hardship.
The board game library is huge, and there's a great selection of CCGs, board games, and RPGs available to purchase. Staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, and prices are really reasonable too.
M. A. (.
Table was a bit grotty and drinks luke warm, the constant presence of the dog near to the food counter did also not give an impression that felt good. Dog was friendly enough, but felt unhygienic. The food is vegan so they do not serve cow milk, the options available did not taste either pleasant or enjoyable.
Decent range of games, but staff seemed confused over pricing and charged us and another group different rates for same situation.
It's a good gaming venue plenty to offer but held review back with minor issues.
A. B.
I've been to the dice cup a few times now to play dnd and I love it. There is such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and I've had a brilliant time.
N. P.
A good selection of board games. Staff are super friendly and willing to help. Plenty of space for larger groups to play. There's also some food and drink options. The interior is a little rough but understandable as it is a start up establishment. A good place for students to hang out.
E. F.
Stumbled across this by accident when we came to play escape rooms nearby. Spent a good hour or so playing games and scoffing coffee and cake. Excellent range of games, lovely staff and the £5 we paid covered us to return later in the day if we wanted.
C. H.
Love this place! Fantastic for any social. It's not just a gaming cafe. There's a shop, plenty of seating including roomy sofas. Very good all vegan menu and the cakes are really nice. Staff are helpful too
M. D.

Ordered some products from here just as we were being locked down again. Within 24h they had been hand delivered to me. Fantastic speedy service during trying times. I look forward to purchasing from them again and will be supporting this local business when they can't open their café or physical store.

Very friendly staff, great food. Welcoming of LGBTQ community, would recommend if you have not yet gone!

An amazing treasure trove of a store! Could easily spend all my time here, love my new dice, people were very chatty, and, gluten free, and vegan food! It was so very good, an absolute treat to be shown this, beautiful Aladdin's cave!

Came here to play some dnd with friends. Great price for use of location at only £1 per person. Food we tried was delicious and coffee drinks were yummy as well! Very friendly staff who also came by to clear plates. Can't wait to come back to try the endless amounts of games they have available for use!

(Pre-covid)
You can buy board games, card games and role playing games, plus dice and light snacks and coffee. There’s loads (100s) of board games on the shelves to sit and play and often people playing all sorts of RPGs.
Staff are friendly and helpful and clearly like working here.
It’s the best gamer place in Nottingham.
Me and three others had a great time playing Canan for a few hours.
S.
Brilliant place to visit if you enjoy board games. Staff were super friendly, food was good, coffee was top-notch (maybe a little pricey, but I'll let it slide on account of the overall experience) and to top it off: just £1 per seat when bringing your own games, for the whole day. Definitely coming back soon!
p. m.
Been to many board game Cafe's in Nottingham and this is by far up there with my favourites. It may not be as nice and sleek as some others but the staff are amazing! The price can not be beaten and there is plenty of space! My only issue is the bathrooms they weren't the cleanest, but I will be returning here.
L. S.
I took the kids and their cousins here for the afternoon and we all had a great time. Tried out a couple of games we hadn't played before and ate some scrummy cake. The staff were friendly and helpful (with a special mention for Caitlin, who oriented us on our first game). All in all it was a great success.
D. R.
Good selection of games to buy and a spacious gaming area. Also has a small function room for D&D. Reasonable range of vegan food available as well.

Dice Cup is everything you could want from a board game cafe or shop. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and excellent. The food is great - easy, simple and tasty (also all vegan). Space is open, warm and clean. Toilets are gender neutral, and have baby facilities. There's plenty of games. Lots of social stuff (I like the quiz). Just go play games already.
S. S.
Great for range of board games and service. Note opening times.
A. H.
Great place to go and play games, drink tea and eat cake. Staff are really helpful when you want to try a game you've not played before, nice friendly atmosphere. Great selection of games to play and buy, really good way to spend an afternoon with friends.
J. L.
It was so nice to go out and play a game with my darling husband and valentine. We were recommended a game neither of us had never played before, by customer service . So we had to learn it together. We had a great time!
g.
First time visiting and it was Awesome. Super friendly staff that helped us set up and gave a high level walk through of the game they recommend. We played "The Captain's Dead" and had a blast. The game tables are very nice and the coffee was great.
A. W.
Had a really great time with a decent sized group. Steve suggested a bunch of really great games after setting the tables up for us! Thank you!
J. B.
Great selection of games, and a nice chilled atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting again :)
M. G.
Great selection of games at a good price per head. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful with game recommendations. The food sold is entirely vegan, though you wouldn't be able to tell.
B. G.
The Dice Cup is a friendly board game cafe with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space. I went with a group of friends to play some card games, which cost just £1 each for the table space. We had a really enjoyable time and will definitely be returning.
I.
Super friendly and casual atmosphere with a brilliant feeling of community. Yes, it can get a bit nippy in the winter and yes, the food is vegan only. But don't let that put you off.
I. S.
Friendly staff, excellent food, a massive selection of games, and a brilliant Sunday evening quiz! Highly recommend.
J. W.
Friendly place, nice atmosphere, great snacks and drinks Inc vegan options.. Great evening, well spent in a well equipped games emporium. Helpful staff too.
A. D.
Large floor for gaming, cheap tables for playing your own games (£1) and a library of great board games to choose from (£5). Tables free in the evening. Vegan food and drink. Lovely staff that know their games :-)
A. P.
The Dice Cup is a good venue for playing board games and hosting clubs. There are a lot of board games for selection. While the price for entry is cheap, the additional prices for drinks and food can be high, especially for their average quality.
There are several tables, but they can be full and noisy at busy times. The glass walls can also make the place chilly in winter.
EDIT: They do provide heaters, but on cold, wintry days make sure you come so that you can stay warm.
C. V.
Brilliant place to meet friendly people and play board games and card games of every description. Nice vegan and cold food, good coffee. Perfect 5/7. Highly recommended.
R. C.
All vegan, all delicious couldn't even tell carrot cake was vegan not the cheese and onion panini. The only reason I give one star less is smoothie/milkshake not right far too sweet... I would skip the ice-cream and just put frozen banana slices and strawberries if then not sweet at all add a little sugar free forest fruits or apple cordial concentrate vegan too .. but all rest was great.. fantastic board games room/shop. Nice staff although not too talkative maybe that's better lol.
R. N. (.
Lovely friendly and clean cafe / gaming shop. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
S. P.
Great place and people. Loads of boardgames to play and the shop always costs me too much money but that's my boardgaming addiction's fault. To be more inclusive of us dairy using luddites I'd rather have the option of real milk in the hot drinks than plant based milks which is my only complaint.
A.
Good selection of games, friendly and knowledgeable staff, good tables and chairs, and a good deal of space. However, the food is pretty lacklustre, and they only serve vegan. Drink options are terrible. The games aren't organised and it looks quite unprofessional. Still the best game cafe in Nottingham
T. H.
Lovely staff and lots of tables though it's still worth booking. The game selection is good though not quite as large as other places. Nice to be able to eat anything on the menu as a vegetarian though.
G. E.
Friendly and Knowledgeable staff. Always find time to teach new games and introduce you to new comic books and RPGs as well.
Up and coming with a lot of potential for expansion. Would be a great place for any gamer's birthday celebrations.
R. B.
From atmosphere, to the variety of games, to the menu, everything about this place is welcoming and delightful. Honestly my favourite place in Nottingham.
A. P.
An amazing place. Greeted with warm a warm welcome and a great atmosphere. They cater to my allergies and pre-warn me if my meal choice may have my allergies in to help me make a decision of what I'd like. I'd definitely recommend this place to game and to eat.
K. M.
Whereas Luderati is more of a cafe experience, The Dice Cup feels more like a games shop than its competitor. It also has food and drink options for its customers, but there's definitely more of a community feel to the place, with tournaments for card gamers and board gamers, with lots of tables around the shop for folks to play games. If you're a card gamer come here, but if you're a board gamer you should really go to both. Make a day of it.
R. C.
Large pleasant place, but could do with a bit more personality: its previous incarnation as an art supply shop lingers. But good repast, and a great place to lose yourself to a board game.
L. T.
Great food (completely vegan), good selection of board games, friendly atmosphere and helpful staff, lovely dog.
Clean, tidy, spacious.
Will be coming here again.
N. D.
Lovely people as always (: great atmosphere
J. M.
Really great board game cafe with vegan food options. The staff are friendly and helpful and so are the clientelle. Huge selection of games to choose from, can't recommend this place enough
C. L. (. E. A.
Absolutely love this place! A great selection of vegan foods from paninis to cakes. Excellent drink selection too, including flavoured iced coffees. Very welcoming staff too!
C. W.
Will start this review off just to say how the process works here for any first timers reading as there's very little knowledge to find about how these board game cafes work, basically this one as we were told by a nice member of staff that we can purchase the food, drinks and games there. And if we would like to play any games in the cafe you have to pay a coverage of 5 pounds per individual. Up until closing time. Which we did, now this is where I personally got a little confused because we paid our five pounds each to play the board games there although we weren't given any reciept or really anything to prove that we paid that 5 pound coverage. My girlfriend got herself a cola and red velvet cookie. I got myself a latte that tasted great. We sat at the front near the counter were you pay for all services to have our food and drinks before playing a game, only because with our little knowledge we weren't sure if you were allowed to eat and drink while you play. We don't like to step on anybody's toes you see. We asked a girl working there if it would be possible to play games on the table that we were eating on and she said yes although went on to say about the coverage charge. We told her we paid and that was that but I felt a bit uneasy having nothing to prove it to her you know, also after playing a long game of scrabble it seems that I seen people have drinks at least while they played. So i believe you may be able to drink and eat while playing but I'm not completely sure. Now other reviews do say it gets cold inside and they are right it was pretty cold. I put on my jacket though and problem was solved. All the staff were really friendly and a worker took the time to say bye to us even though he was in the middle of something. Lovely place overall.
C. F.
Very extensive selection of games both in the shop and for loan in the play area, prices in the shop are reasonable too.
The coffee in the cafe uses beans ground by '200 degrees' and is excellent there are also lots of vegan options on the menu.
k. b.
Excellent choice of games x felt very covid safe x food really good x best coconut cappuccino ever x friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended x
D. K.
I thought I'd update as I had a very pleasant experience with them. I enquired about getting a DnD dice set and they replied to my messages promptly, even the telephone conversation was a delight. Answered my questions and even gave choices as to what kind of dice I wanted, besides different coloured dice sets too. Placed my order yesterday and my new dice were waiting for me when I got home today. Very pleased!
R. M.
We meet here regularly for a role-playing group and have played board games at the table rate - great place run by gamers, the food (all vegan) is excellent and good value, and as a bonus the games shop is well stocked :)
M. T.
Large fantastic store with oodles of space. The gaming tables are large and good for all types of gaming play. The staff are friendly and helpful and I highly reccomend you visit and buy from this store.
A. B.
Nice friendly staff, which goes hand in hand with the atmosphere. Just had a nice cuppa, but the cakes looked nice, just remember that using your card is only on spending £5+.
E. H.
I've never really been to Dice Cup before and didn't know that they only serve vegan food! Had amazing vegan cheddar and ham panini, hot chocolate and strawberry milkshake with whipped cream. Best comfort food ever!
H. A.
Great place to play some games and have snacks and drinks. Bring your own games or play from a good selection of theirs.
Proper gaming tables. Vegan and vegetarian friendly.
j. m.
Everything about a trip to The Dice Cup (TDC) makes me feel good. I like supporting local businesses and, so it seems, do TDC. The coffee and cakes are locally sourced and very high quality.
The premises are also extremely accessible which is important to my mobility impaired wife and I, and makes a refreshing (no pun intended) change for a Nottingham cafe.
The staff are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable and the selection of games to play is HUGE and yet, thoughtfully selected to suit every type of customer (no previous experience necessary).
Gamer or not, I really recommend this cafe.
C.
This place is a hidden gem in Nottingham. Fantastic friendly staff, really competitive prices and just a great atmosphere. I highly recommend a visit if you want a bite to eat or enjoy playing board games. 😀👍
J. M.
Very friendly staff, great food. Welcoming of LGBTQ community, would recommend if you have not yet gone!
J. D.
The Dice Cup is a great place to visit. Lots of space and lots of choice to play and buy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, not to mention the great coffee and comfortable seating....
P. W.
Great range of games, all vegan food and reasonable prices
P.
love this place, clean and tidy.
you can either relax or play some amazing old games.
it's a games and comic shop so much to choose from for all ages.
staff are amazing and so is the coffee.
D.
A cafe that has gaming is my dream cafe. This place would be a 7 star. But they let us down big time with the drinks, it is "vegan friendly" so they have alternate milk options, that's all fine but they don't actually have NORMAL milk. I'm all for other options but atleast have normal choice too.
S.
Cheap place to meet with friend for a lovely social game night. SO many of choices of games with lovely staff. Nice snacks and coffee!
M. H.
The collection of games here are immense! The vegan cakes from Clemie's are also top notch. Staff are friendly and lovely too.
C. B.
Very friendly staff who were more than happy to help us with the games, of which there was a great selection. Food and drinks reasonably priced. Will be happy to return.
J. j.
They are very friendly! I don't really know much about board games, but they recommend some to me when I go in. They have events and stuff too.
A. B.
Good quality/price ratio, since you pay and can stay as you want. Good variety of board games and great choice of vegan and vegetarian cakes/hot drinks!
J. G.
Extremely friendly staff, stood out right away. Great collection of boardgames to play and a diverse selection of stock to buy, from boardgames to cards to dice to models and more.
C. R.
Wow - absolutely amazed - highly recommended. Order placed after lunch and personal local delivery the same day. Great price, great service - shop here!!
S. T.
5* for the customer service. Went in looking for a playmat and stumbled upon Keyforge that just won best card game of the year, Matt came up to me and explained the concept of the game. Decided to try it out, bought the starter box and grabbed a playmat. When I got home the playmat was not what I expected. Messaged Matt and long story short, I got to exchange it, no questions asked. That's quality customer service and The Dice Cup earns it's 5* !
F. G.
Great staff, great food (with a vegan menu) and great amount of products. Also if you are looking for a new product you can just ring them up and ask if they have it and they are happy to help. Also they have TCG and game tournaments!
A. J.
It was a really nice experience, the games are quite varied and the price is literally £5 to play until closing, plenty to do, we were there over 5 hours which really makes entry costs seem much more minimal.
J. B.
The woman we spoke to was helpful, but the venue itself is a bit run down. Value for play time is good, believe it was £5 to play from 8-11. Can't complain at that
S. G.
Possibly the nicest place to play games, helpful staff, loads of choice, very accomodating good selection to buy and really well priced, call and book in they have a fantastic set up
A. F.
They have got pleanty of games and lot of difrent tables to play, staff its really nice and freandly with everybody, they also organise tournaments and events and its not expensive at all. But on winter time its freezing, they don't have a good heating.
P. R.
Great Range of Games
Well organised games collection, plenty of space, bit oh it was cold and the food options were very limited, come on Dice Cup raise your game
T. S.
I really enjoyed my stay in this place though it was a short one. You can come here with friends to play almost every board game. Great place for everyone at every age.
A. G.
Excellent friendly staff, well thought out procedures for keeping people safe and still able to play now restrictions have eased during the pandemic
a. b.
Great if you love board games. If you're there too play you pay a modest table charge per person and can play any number of old and new games.
P. B.
Informal setting to play a massive selection of board games. Cafe is vegan so take your own milk for your cup of tea!
T. M. G. S.
Very good, experience the staff very helpful and friendly and enjoyed the sweet potato chips. Great range of games to play
S. T.
No actual cafe area so I just assume you can sit on the game tables or the couch.
Friendly staff, lots of games on display. Bit more information about how it works and menus would be great.
M. M.
Fantastic. A wonderful board game cafe with 400+ board games, vegan food and drinks, wheelchair-friendly, open 10 till late every day.
B. A.
Very friendly staff, lots of tables to game at, amazing vegan food (seriously try the got chocolate)
A vast choice of board games, cards and dice ❤️
H. M.
Amazing idea for a cafe if your into gaming this is the perfect cafe for you, drink your coffee ect, and eat a lovely slice of cake while playing games, not into games myself but the atmosphere is very calming as players at the cafe go head to head to challenge each other and multiple players depending on what games you want to play or, be a spectator watching these people concentrate on ways to win the games that they are playing, I found it by accident while sheltering from the rain, parking near by if you drive, take a look for yourself, staff very friendly indeed so if your up for a challenge or just want some refreshments give a go you won't be disappointed.
J. H.
Best boardgame café I've ever been to. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff. Vegan food is tasty too.
m. e.

L. M.
A brilliant place! So many games! The staff are incredibly friendly and extremely efficient. I look forward to visiting again soon.
W. G.
Really friendly atmosphere - I went along knowing noone and quickly got playing some games. The only thing to note is that due to the location and layout it can get chilly over the winter.
R. H.
Good value at £5 for four hours playing from the library.
Toilets were long overdue a clean. The towel was filthy and there was no soap.
J.
Great boards game cafe with good vegan food. My only complaint is they could be more generous with there portions.
L. H. V.
The place is cosy. there are many board games you can try. Staffs are friendly and helpful too, you can ask them for game rules and strategies. Great place for group
N. D.

This place is amazing, staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely. Only thing that keeps me from rating 5 stars is the temperature, its pretty cold in there but I appreciate that this isn't an easy fix.
