Reviews of The Wild Rabbit Cafe

The staff are so lovely and friendly, sometimes the order gets confused and the breakfast seems to have gone down hill. Solid yolk fried eggs and rubbery barely cooked bacon. But the sausages are delicious and the price is right, maybe it was an off day but I can’t help but think it would be more popular if more care was taken in preparing the food. The tables are very sticky too but other than that the cleanliness looks very good especially in the kitchen which is reassuring. Cakes and sweet treats are all delicious and they have a great range, I’d prefer to add milk and sugar to my own hot drinks though instead of having to send it back to the kitchen for more milk to be added. It has tons of potential but is a bit of a rough diamond at the minute.

Nice cafe set in park and woodland. Offers all day breakfasts, lunches, cakes and snacks along with selection of hot and cold drinks. We had breakfast cobs and coffees which were very tasty. Staff very polite and helpful. Note access by road is down a mostly single track lane with limited parking next to the cafe, but there is a larger car park nearby that you go past and can be used if needed.

First time at the café, had just watched
the Peter Rabbit film at home and thought it would be a good place to eat. (Picked for the name of the cafe)
The cafe is down a country lane and is a very picturesque drive (done slowly), there's a small but well looked after car park for the cafe itself, as well as disabled ramps to the cafe from the car park.
The building is well presented and there's seating in and out. Inside it has a homely feel, with a games table, where games can be used in the cafe and books in one corner to read.
The food is well cooked and in my opinion, at a quite high standard for the price of the food. As one of the other reviews mentions, it would have been nice to be able to put my own milk into my drink, but this wasn't a major issue.
The staff were very polite and helpful. Everything was clean and tidy and staff were ensuring that tables were clean.
It is a little hidden gem and I will certainly be visiting again, maybe even take the dogs (they allow dogs into the cafe)

Lovely dog friendly cafe in a beautiful spot in Portland Park, they even sell doggy sausages! New owners have very recently taken over and they're looking to make some changes and improvements to the menu. Had a coffee on first visit, (coffee could definitely be improved on) and a cold drink and a clotted cream scone with jam on the second the following day, which was pretty good. Very good value, lovely staff and situation overlooking the park, well worth a visit.

Amazing food and drink and a lovely walk too. Dog friendly with their own dog, Ollie: the friendliest cocker spaniel you will ever meet, and they even sell dog sausages. Not very expensive and everyone there is always lovely. We pop in for a drink weekly when we walk my dog and it's always an enjoyable visit! If you're thinking of walking in Portland Park or are just close by, I would definitely recommend dropping by here!
Edit: This place was taken over by some new owners around a month ago. My review still stands (all besides Ollie has left now) and everything is still great.
