Reviews of Akiport Cafe
G. 9. (.
It lives up to its reputation. Very popular with locals. Had a superb cappuccino and coxhina (minced chicken rissole) plus ham and cheese rissole with a couple of pastel de nata to take away. All freshly baked on the premises. Really nice and helpful staff. Carb heavy haha, but a nice treat as I was in Oxford for the day and worth the detour.

Had a great value English breakfast whilst staying locally. Neither of us was very hungry so they very kindly gave us a second plate to allow us to share. Coffee was delicious and we had super friendly service with a great Portuguese buzz to the place.

Very nice staff who are happy to help provide the food you’d like, I’m not into coffee and this place does amazing hot chocolate. The nuggets, chips and garlic bread (or bolo do caco in Portuguese!) are amazing too! I haven’t tried the pastel de natas but they’re super popular (probably for good reason) but the coxinhas with chicken, spinach and mozzarella and the prawn rissoles are great!

Great place for food or a coffee. Great atmosphere. gets really busy so sometimes there can be a little wait. But well worth it in my eyes. Great spot

As a portuguese, I can say this place reminds me my home food with a great service. I totally reccomend this place for everyone who is willing to try out portugese cuisine. Will come again in the future!

Lovely portuguese coffee and cakes. The staff are very friendly. Good prices too

One of the best café in Oxford. The people are super nice and friendly. If you're not familiar with Portuguese cuisine they are nice enough to help me select the food. Would recommend anyone to visit this cafe!

We came upon this little gem Sunday,a small cafe with a big heart! We were 5 hungry people & the lovely lady was alone in the kitchen & she said she'd do her best to do us all a full English together,we didn't mind waiting,or how it came, individually etc but she did fabulous, the staff were very friendly & couldn't do enough for us,the service was tops!!! (Better than some large restaurants I've been to lately who seem to still be using covid as an excuse to give poor service if none at all!!!!)well done all at Akiport Cafe, Oxford.👏👏👏😊

Great little cafe for breakfast. Portugese/Brazilian fare or a full English for £8. Great coffee and pastries.

The best coffee in Oxford, friendly staff and chilled atmosphere 😊

Call in on a motorcycle now and then. Good breakfast. Clean too

Well located pub, by the Thames and with a nice garden. Parking your car will be problematic. The food and the service was good, although I found the portions small, specially the children's menu. That's why I considered it overpriced. It's a nice option if you combine a walk across the Port Meadows with a drink and snack by the sunset. They offer such services separately from the restaurant.

Portuguese owners(I think) and very freindly and helpful. Had a decent full English in the sunshine. Nice atmosphere.

Great little authentic Portuguese coffee place. The coffee is great and it has several food options to go with. The best time to visit is Sunday mornings when the custard tarts and other Portuguese deserts arrive from London. It makes for an amazing breakfast! The service is relax and the people friendly. It's good value also!

Great coffee, excellent value.

As the management has changed I will go for a drink to review my review!
--Previously-
I had written a positive review in the past but the last two times I went to the cafe was really disappointed by the level of rudeness of the waiter. No greeting, not welcoming and aggressive tone most of the time. I felt unwelcome and decided to never go back after I tried twice (always the same rude guy making it negative)
That was my positive review (the other waiter was really nice and welcoming):
I had a tasty well served coffee couple of weeks ago, delicious cakes.. I think Portuguese and Mediterranean specialities, nice staff :)--
A. D.
We had the full English breakfast. It is great value and cooked really well. Lovely polite service too. Highly recommended.

The food is freshly prepared, and quite a bit is home made. It's not expensive, and the coffee is good. It may look a bit tired - and the telly is a bit intrusive - but it's different and good for a panini or whatever.

The place does not look awesome from outside but, the team il very nice and they do an amazing cappuccino, is a very nice place to have breakfast, sweet or salted (or even both). I had a ham and cheese panini... I am italian and for a second I really felt at home, thank you for the special moment! If there were 6 stars you would have got them <3.

In my opinion, the best café in town.
They make a very good espresso which is surprisingly charged at a very honest price. Wide choice of baguettes and on Sunday is possible to find an amazing selection of pastries.
They also have a few tables on the road, for me that I like sitting in the open is very enjoyable.

You walk up to the door on any given morning and you'll likely see families sitting at tables or standing at the counter ordering delicious pastéis de nata, excellent coffee, and the real secret weapon - baked goods with flavors of Madeira. Walk right in, don't worry about waiting, regulars are kind and welcoming they will insist you go ahead. All around you neighbors greet neighbors, details of last night's football match are debated, and tasty-warm Portuguese breakfasts fly out of the kitchen with ease. Once you're done it's a five minute bike ride into Oxford or maybe just stay for another bite. You'll be glad you did.

Awesome little cafe! Service is friendly and warm, food is very nice, especially the Brazilian and Portuguese foods, such as coxinhas (dumplings with fillings) and the pastel de nata (custard tart). The breakfast is also very nice and they even have (deli) products and produce you can buy and take home ...I highly recommend this place.

One of the best experiences I had in Oxford. Friendly, authentic "neighbourhood-atmosphere", good coffee with no frills and the most yummy custard cakes to go with it. Soft portugese spoken around you is extra bonus :-)
S. P.
The owners are super friendly and very professional. The service is 5 🌟 I love their coffee and the wonderful cakes.

I'm religious about this place. Used to live nearby and every time I visit Oxford I have one Portuguese rissole. Very happy to see this place attract a large Portuguese crowd. Long live, (good) local businesses!

Authentic Portuguese food with a birth fusion twist

Tiny little café with a Portuguese (I believe Madeiran) and Latin American lean. Ask for the savoury fritters (cod, prawns etc). The pastries are all homemade and to die for. We tried something that resembles a napkin, possibly called 'servilleta' and we loved it. Good quality coffee too.
J. M.
By far the best coffee in Oxford, great pastries as well
W. M.
They make a wicked coffee, and the beers are ice cold, snacks available also, a great chill out place, and you can sit by the roadside watching the world go by..!!!!
