Reviews of Peloton Espresso
U. M.
Very reasonably priced coffee and cake (only +10 p for plant based milks, yay!) and £2.50 for any type of cake. Big slices and vegan options. We had the carrot cake – the frosting is not too sweet, the cake a little dry although granted we had the end bit! Is it essential that café cakes are just a bit stale? Staff are fine and don’t dote (not sure if this is a conscious decision).
There is a cute albeit bare garden at the back where it’s easy to eavesdrop on people’s conversations whilst continuing your own with a significant other...take advantage of this last Autumnal month before it gets a little too chilly to sit outside for so long.
I. I.
The coffee was very nice, accompanied by a croissant with cheese, and carrot cake, the flavours were really good!
The shop was busy at opening time on a Sunday morning, which was great to see, but not too busy to put you off.
We were able to take our bicycles through to the back too, which meant we didn't need to worry about leaving them at the front!
The staff were also very friendly and accommodating ☺️
E.
Stumbled across this place on our walk in Oxford. Very cute, cyclist focused.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We just went in to grab a coffee. I ordered a vanilla latte and my partner ordered a normal latte but the reason I’m giving a 4* is because the vanilla latte was too overpowering (way too much syrup) I had to throw it away, however the normal latte was lovely.
T. N.
A nice cafe. Plenty of vegan cake options. I had a brownie, not vegan, but gooey and delicious
J. P.
Best coffee in Oxford by taste. Best I’ve ever had, even. Am now a regular and this makes me glad I live close by so trust me and try it!
A. N.
The best espresso in Oxford to date. Cool vibe, friendly staff, greet wifi, nice patio in the back… and the beans, good good the coffee is excellent here.
M. E.
Decent coffee shop, this used to be the quarter horse coffee shop, it may been a different place before it became peloton but I'm glad that standards haven't dropped. Coffee is very good, service is brisk, brownies are excellent. Not many places to sit, plus it's popular with people wanting to work all day so if you're lucky you'll get a seat but everyone is friendly so you may need to share a table. Definitely worth a visit.
A.
-Funky
-Cosy
-Vegan options, food and drink wise
-Delicious vegan oat chai latte and tasty vegan carrot 🥕 cake 🍰
-Outdoor seating
-Offers free sanitary products in the toilet

Lovely service with nice atmosphere :)!! Coffees were great and great 50p collection as well x)!! They had a outside terrace and It looked like a lovely place for studying too. Definitely will come back again :)
A. P.
Very cyclist friendly place, lots of magazined to read, back garden to place your bike, great coffee blend (dark chocolate) and well made by baristas. Very nice pastry too.
Perfect stop for the weekend ride, or if you are just a tourist in Oxford and would like to be introduced to the local (non touristy) community.
S. M.
Good coffee delightful staff light and airy cafe with a mild cyclist theme
G. E.
Peloton Espresso has RUINED coffee for me elsewhere in Oxford. Their Lattes are ridiculously good. I now live further away and I miss this place!
E. L.
I’ve been to probably way too many cafes around the world and this ones got a pretty unique vibe to it. The flat white i had with quarter horse espresso (which i first tried in birmingham) was delicious and the barista was incredibly friendly, letting me try an Ethiopian filter with blueberry notes.
Solid wifi and cosy space, could be a little warmer though!
P. M.
Good coffee and crumpets. Very friendly service
U. I.
Lovely place, lovely staff, great doughnuts, amazingly good coffee. It's not on the touristy circuit and so not overcrowded either. You can sit and read or study for a while. And they have decat for those mid afternoon coffee cravings. I think I have found my favourite Oxford coffee shop.
S. L.
Fantastic coffee shop in Cowley. Stumbled across the cafe during the first lockdown and has become a regular stop ever since.
Staff are brilliant and bring a great atmosphere and character to the cafe. Highly recommend the brownies, or doughnuts on a Thursday as an extra treat.
C. M.
Staff are always extremely friendly, interior usually has some local art offerings and a very cosy atmosphere. Equally in the shaded back garden. Quality coffee and they always have some delicious vegan banana bread on offer 👌
R. K.
My favourite coffee shop in Oxford. The whole team are really friendly, there's always a great atmosphere, and the coffee is delicious. The kind of place that makes you want to keep going back again and again. Do yourself a favour and get yourself to Peloton as soon as possible!
Go for the filter coffee, stay for the toasted banana bread (with peanut butter).
M. S.
Great place .. leave the BS at the door
Great coffee and staff are very nice
T.
Made an effort to visit after travelling from Manchester to see a friend, coffee is fantastic and cakes are great. Staff are super friendly and helpful :)
p. b.
Great coffee and super friendly staff! Would highly recommend their banana bread too. Definitely our local coffee shop of choice.
A. C.
Loved the vibe of this college café. Hipster and intellectual with a side of grilled banana bread and carefully selected Ethiopian filter coffee.
A. V.
Nice bike orientated cafe. Very good coffee and their own baked pastries. They show live cycling on a TV screen.
D. F.
Lovely coffee and beautiful toasted banana bread, the chorizo pitta with all the trimmings is a joy too.
A.
Great coffee and great Donuts on a Thursday
M. D.
Amazing coffee, very nice staff and their garden is perfect to work during summer. My favourite place on Cowley road when I am craving for an iced latte.
J. A.
I was here for an hour and ordered a latte and a pan au chocolat - the coffee itself was enjoyable, brewed nice and smooth - not too bitter.
The staff are very friendly, you're greeted on entry and exit (a great touch!) and the staff seem to know their stuff about the large selection of coffee that they have.
Re: Covid, the table are as far as they can be given the small building, with Track & Trace check-in and sanitizer at the entrance. Staff, and most customers, are wearing masks and aware of distance.
L. R.
Best staff in the world with the most amazing hair and clothes I've ever seen, so stylish with amazing singing voices it's like indulging in the opera.
fabulous bakes and and delicious coffee , no judgement for milk or sugar in filters.
Doughnut Thursdays are a dream !
why wouldn't you want to come here! 1million stars from me !
P. N.
Really nice friendly staff, even a swedish speaker.
Y. W.
Obviously a bit of a cycling theme going on here, which to me is a plus, but if you’ve no interest in the sport whatsoever it won’t feel too intrusive. Espresso is bold and tasty, and the banana bread is literally the BEST I’ve ever had.
A. M.
Great coffee, atmosphere OK at best. Music kept suddenly going quiet or stopping at awkward points in conversation! Coffee was great, a really nice dark roast, but cups are tiny. Probably the smallest flat white I remember drinking. Free water was good, especially as you can take a whole bottle to the table with you.
O. M.
Very best coffee, smooth and silky, no bitterness at all. Great customer service, friendly and welcoming without any of the pretentious attitude you get in some coffee store in Oxford. Really comfortable vibe and good outside area.
E. P.
excellent coffee! doughnuts on thursdays!
J. B.
Staff always friendly and helpful, and the coffee is consistently great. Would highly recommend!
D. S.
Only place in Oxford worth spending your money at.
Coffee is amazing. The staff are even better. They’re more knowledgeable about their coffee than anyone else in Oxford. However, the selling point about this place is the staff/customer service. They are the only place in Oxford (any type of store/cafe) where they’ll greet you once you walk in and leave. You don’t find this sort of friendliness anywhere else in England/UK.
Owner - Dan, and barista - James made my experience in Oxford incredible. That’s how good this cafe is ... you need to go, trust me.
Staff: 10/5
Coffee: 10/5
Cleanliness: 5/5
Atmosphere:15/5
Food: 5/5
R. P.
Really good coffee! The cafe is geared towards cyclists, who can bring their bicycles into the cafe - but it's welcoming to anyone. The sausage roll and banana bread are delicious, but otherwise the food on offer is quite limited. Toilets facilities are nice and clean.
B. S.
Coffee and banana bread were awesome!
A. M. (.
Place is good, needs some more logic in the service side like communication seemed pretty hectic behind the bar but staff very happy smiling to customers and coffee was decent.
E. H.
Incredibly friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. The coffee was delicious and so was the brownie! Indoor and outdoor seating available and child/family friendly
C. G.
One of the best cafes in the Oxford area, I go there quite frequently to work. Very smooth coffee, nice teas, absolutely great banana bread. And, since one reviewer mentioned there was no toilet - there is one , at the back of the cafe!
R. Z.
Lovely friendly space, great coffee.
r. M.
Very good coffee. Great service.. Very friendly and welcoming.. Pastry good too. A French feeling with a French touch. Delightful!
H. S.
I love this place: their coffee and pastries are great and everyone who works there is really friendly. A very good place to sit and work, or just stop.
R. C.
Nice coffee, nice people, nice wifi. But no toilet.
Customers aren't allowed to use the toilet in a place that almost solely serves diuretics? Seems cruel!
Good place for a quick stop. Just don't drink too much :-)
M. A.
Nice coffee and friendly staff
C. J.
My partner loves the Americano coffee from here but personally I am here to RAVE about their delicious gluten free brownies! Hands down one of the best gluten brownies I have ever tasted. As someone who has a wheat allergy and has a love for pastries, it can be difficult to find tasty treats that reach the deeps of my pastry loving soul! The slices are thick, the consistency is balanced between gooey soft, yummy delicious inner goodness with a good flaky outer layer! Peloton gets a double golden star for their brownie!!! Highly recommend trying it! Goes well with crisps too if you like to balance the sweet and salty flavours! #brownieheaven
K. R. J.
Great coffee any way you prefer. Music a bit loud and difficult to get a seat at times with all the MacBooks users writing their memoirs, but despite this, one of the best places for a brew in town.
B. M.
A really great atmosphere if you like bikes. The whole place is decorated from floor to ceiling revolving around cycling culture. Big glass windows at the front let in a lot of light so it can also be a great place to study. Plsu they show all the big cycling races
N. A.
Such friendly staff who made our dog feel like a celebrity . Great iced coffee and cute posts space at the back
S. B.
Good coffee, nice baked goods, lovely back garden space and friendly staff. Dog friendly spot too.
a. h.
Very nice people, easy to have a conversation
Strong community vibe
Rogue playlist but not abrasive
Not a lot of seating, which is probably the only downside
Moderately expensive but not overly so.
Lots of cyclists here
Have a toilet and garden
J. d. G.
Amazing coffee! Thankfully still offering a decent range of filters as well as perfectly prepared espresso. Mocha fans will be impressed with their home-mixed cacao.
R. A.
Delicious coffee and fab cake selection. Doughnuts (Thursdays only) are especially good.
E. G.
I'm certainly no coffee connoisseur, but I drink a lot of it. From the college SCR's self-grinding espresso maker to my trusty nespresso machine, I consume a lot of mediocre-to-decent coffee and am satisfied with it, rarely finding the need to go pay for coffee in coffee shops. However, Quarter Horse is my exception. The coffee here is quite frankly just consistently amazing, the baristas are friendly and fun to talk to, and the toasted banana bread is divine. I love the atmosphere, and the prices are reasonable (especially given the quality of the coffee). I definitely recommend this place to anyone in Oxford who's after a good cup of coffee.
T. W.
Delicious single origin coffee. Very good batch brew filter along with great looking espresso based coffees. Pour overs available too!
N. C.
Amazing staff, super friendly, amazing coffee amazing cinnamon bun. Cozy space. Would HIGHLY recommend.
C. C.
The banana bread is the nutz! Excellent coffee and great space. My only criticism is often most tables are taken up by people on laptops.
J. A. P.
Amazing coffee, great service and excellent taste in music! the banana bread is phenomenal
C. D.
Good coffee, and the toasted banana bread and cakes are great. One can wheel your bike through to the garden, which is awesome at the end of a day ride
V. S.
Friendly. Great coffee.
A. J.
Probably the best espresso bar in Oxford. Skilled baristas, heavy wood tables, and more hipsters than a ping pong themed bar in east Berlin.
Grad students hang out over their laptops, and foreign militants hatch plans in the corners. Couldn't advise a better place to get away from the gown and morter board fetishists near High Street.
D. M.
Awesome coffee and really nice and friendly staff. One of my favorites in Oxford.
A. B.
One of the best coffees available in Oxford. The service can sometimes be a bit slow. However they now have an excellent and underused garden out the back.
L. W.
My go-to destination when it comes to friendly staff, amazing coffee and tasty homemade pastries!
S. F.
Great environment--lots of people do their work there--and has a great selection of tea on top of the coffee. Also there are small brunch options if you're hungry.
M. I.
Just go there....make the trip you'll not regret it. Great amazing tasting coffee & food (especially the pain au bierre....calorie free...!), lovely staff who care about what they do and it shows. Quarter Horse coffee is my first choice in Oxford.
N. G.
Amazing coffee, good food and friendly staff. Great for takeaway or to sit in and chat with friends or do some work
D. A.

Very cool cafe. I liked the coffee and the friendly staff. The only unpleasant attribute was the wobbly table that we were sat at.
O. G.
