Reviews of Rockets and Rascals
D. F.
Fantastic cafe space. Cycling dream with decoration, races on the telly, supplies and gear for and even a repairs workshop in the back. Top quality fresh food and cakes. And maybe the best coffee I’ve ever had. Will come again for sure
K. P.
Super friendly cafe and bike workshop. On a long cycle trip I had concerns about the brakes on my bike. Despite the workshop being fully booked they checked and adjusted my brakes while I enjoyed banana bread and hot chocolate. The place has a busy-but-relaxed vibe.
K. L.
Cake and coffee were excellent. Very generous cake portion (we ordered the carrot cake and shared it). Lovely coffee served in cool glass cups.
J. H.
Lovely breakfast and coffee although not budget prices. In a great location,we sat outside overlooking the marina. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of cyclists visiting.
E. R.
Stopped in for coffee and a bit of cake. Ordered the biscoff Brownie which was delicious and a huge portion. Coffee was full of flavour and strong including the decaf.
S. P.
Had breakfast several times always greet you on arrival which is lovely. Food is very good and freshly cooked to order had the scrambled egg, roasted peppers and mushrooms on bed of spinach amazing flavour s and smoothies are good too.
Very popular so get in early see you again soon guys.
G. H.
I absolutely love the staff in here, they're so friendly and they're obsessed with my God mothers dog to whom they give an abundance of treats! i go in there regularly for the smokey yet sweet coffee and the unique atmosphere that's tailored to cyclists. Pricing and food are perfectly matched. Highly recommended! and the location is perfect for those who want to sit outside, enjoy the sun and then go for a lovely walk around the Barbican
H. N. H.
Great cycling cafe and shop... when I stopped by for a coffee on Easter Saturday at 7.45am the local cycling crew were gathering for their Saturday ride. They asked if I'd like to join them which I would have really liked to do but I doubt my wife would have been happy as we have 'plans' for today so I drank my latte & cycled back to Plymstock...next time guys, next time...
K. “. R.
First day I rented a bike and it was ready and took me well on a 65km bike ride with no mechanicals. Finished off with a beer when I returned it. The next morning I had the Avo toast and a flat white. Staff was great and food/coffee on point.
T. R.
Great coffee, great cake what is not to love. The menu is always fresh and the smoothies are brilliant. Always enjoy sitting down and looking at the bike museum on the walls.
J. F.
Great cafe, nice and friendly staff. My flat white was fantastic.
K. S.
Beautiful food with beautiful service!
I came here a few weeks ago with some family members and we all had a lovely experience! The food was absolutely beautiful with a good range of vegan options and other dietary requirements. We was served by a lovely lady I believe was called Hannah. She was unbelievably attentive and made our time there sensational! All five of us have agreed we will be returning again!
EDIT:
Have returned after leaving this review and still feel the same way!
The only thing they have changed is the layout which looks alot more cozy.
R. D.
Good food, nice surroundings, a bit basic.
Service good a little slow. Enjoyed chicken avocado and pesto toasty and harissa bacon and cheese wrap.
N. B.
What an absolute treat Rockets & Rascals is in Plymouth. We were visiting for the day and stumbled across this place online. When we arrived to collect our food there was some free seating outside. A really friendly member of staff said she would bring our takeaway order to us and even put our food on plates.
The food was sooooo good and so nice to have such good quality food as we emerge from Lockdown. Thank you Rockets & Pascals for such a great lunch stop. We’ll be back.
S. G.
Today's service for breakfast was very slow. The breakfast Burito has totally changed. It was mostly scrabbled egg.... over powered with lime juice in the avocado, and overall not pleasant. For £9.00 I feel very disappointed. I really hope they improve the quality of the food. The coffee however is still definitely worth popping in for.
D. F.
Kriss who served us was absolutely fantastic he is a credit to your venue. We was greeted service with a smile and very professional.
O. N.
We love this place for breakfast. Delicious! Nice ambience. Lovely stuff. I wish they started making American style pancakes for breakfast! Otherwise, perfect ❤️
T. V.
An excellent cafe. A good range of food all created with high quality ingredients (including GF and vegan) and delivered with friendly service by people who seem to care. The bike-flavoured environs make it quirky and interesting. Not the cheapest but high quality and worth it. We come here every time we visit and highly recommend it.
m. t.
If you're looking for a great coffee and amazing toastie then Rockets is the place to go!. Dog friendly as well and the staff are really friendly and helpful
A. R.
I went here for breakfast last June and oh my god they have the best oats!! I did mine with berries, nutella and banana and I still think about them every week. Also their chai latte is amazing, deffo would reccommend
J. F.
This was the best discovery during a two day break in Plymouth, the place is just so damn cool! I was able to take my bike in and leave it in a rack by the counter, lots of tables, friendly staff, tasty food and great smoothies and then there's the coffee, that's really good. My only wish is I could magically transport the whole place home with me, truly worth a visit on many levels.
H.
Very nice cafe. The cake is great and friendly service. Thank you!
R. R.
Great place!
Excellent food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and perfect location.
T. M.
The best cappuccino I’ve had to date. Stopped by with my dad whilst visiting family in Plymouth and both couldn’t have asked for any more. Lovely staff who were friendly and helpful. A beautiful place to enjoy perfect coffee and HUGE pieces of cake which we had to take home with us as leaving any would’ve been a crime! Even picked up a bag of their coffee beans to brew for myself. 10/10
M.
Honestly the best coffees in Plymouth!
Great independent cafe with fabulous homemade cakes suitable for vegans and a good choice for people with allergies. Also used as a bike repair shop which add's quirk and shows there eco friendly company strategy
P. H.
Is it a bike shop of a coffee shop? Well It's a quirkly but surprisingly natural combination of both. You can park your bicycle inside while you have your coffee. Decor is nice and has a warm feeling, walls are lined with bicycle memorabilia and amazing cycling themed art prints. The back half of R&R is actually a bicycle shop!
As a non cycler I came to have a nice coffee and was not disappointed. I had a lovely mocha and later as I decided this was a perfect spot for a bit of reading, (i brought my own book but tables have books and a bookshelf is available with cycling and non cycling themed books) I also had a flat white and a slice of very nice carrot cake.
They have a extensive breakfast menu and the lunch menu includes sandwiches, toasties pies etc I can't comment on these but will have to return to try the food. Cookies, cakes and other snacks also a available.
Really like the atmosphere. Coffee and Cake were good I highly recommended Rockets and Rascals.
A. M.
Lovely place, great food at a fair price and really nice people working there.
Strongly suggested!
J. P.
Lovely place with a great feeling to it. Bacon sandwich and builders tea were great!
P. F.
Pleasant cafe with good menu, friendly staff and outside seating
T. G.
Fantastic breakfast on top of toasted sourdough bread! Just the thing we needed after having not a great night (bedbugs, and no other available hotels found @4am), dozing off in the car... Spacious, and cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, plenty of indoor and outdoor settings... we got scrambled eggs (on toasted sourdough) and poached eggs on smashed avocado w chillies on toasted sourdough... yum!
I. L.
I had the full English breakfast, very tasty. Great friendly staff. Limited parking, and you can pay for parking by using the Ringo app
L. W.
Only called for a coffee withy daughter. But was a pleasure calling. Will by going again.
M. D.
Great cafe. Friendly staff. Excellent coffee. Very accommodating for my son's allergy. Lovely place to sit inside. Will visit again when back in Plymouth
P. R.
If you're out on a ride I recommend the coffee and banana bread. Great service every time for mechanicals and refreshments. Thank you
K. L.
Excellent coffee in a café that has a good vibe. Situated on the historic Barbican.
M. J.
Lovely food and drinks, 4 star because my last breakfast was really cold :(
J. R.
Lovely staff and delicious peanut butter, banana and honey on sour dough toast, totally yummy and a huge portion! Delicious skinny decaff cappuccino, and americano. Sat outside on one of the benches, delightful. Highly recommend
J. D.
Cyclists dream place. Lovely coffee and if you want real cycling wear(lycra etc) they have a rail or two. Really friendly staff too so that's a plus.
N. H.
Cool vibe here. A cross between a cafe and a cycle clothing shop. Perfect for a coffee and bacon sandwich in the morning and I'm sure throughout the day.
M. S.
Great little cafe/shop. Friendly and helpful staff, a menu which had whatever you need and a fab builders tea. All at a reasonable price and in view of the harbour
J. O.
Great casual atmosphere. Chicken, pesto, avocado and cheese toastie always good !
M. P.
Great place to stop on a walk or Barbican stroll. Lovely staff and coffee. We had brunch which is always a treat. It was scrumptious.
T. N.
Great café, excellent bike shop - they did a decent hire bike, with disc brakes etc., at an hour's notice, and then made a very reasonable charge when I unexpectedly needed it for five days instead of one. Will use them again 😁
H. S.
A truly delicious coconut flat white. It energised me for the day and tasted delicious.
Sanitary products (not that I needed them) are free in the toilets too which is great.
S. F.
Great place to hang out and much coffee and cake
R. W.
Great food and drink and friendly staff in an awesome location. If you haven't tried Rockets, you should.
E. A.
Great place for a trendy brunch. Good selection of food(with many veg options) and drinks(hot/cold/hard/soft). Breakfast burrito was top🌯 Outdoor seating to chill & drink in the sun. Clearly a hotspot for local cyclists!
P. E.
Delicious breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Also, the homemade treats (especially the brownie) were a perfect takeaway item.
We will return when next in Poole!
C. N.
Great cafe for cyclists and non cyclists alike. Friendly and the place to go before or after your ride. Coffee is pretty good too 😄
J. B.
Best coffee I’ve had in Plymouth.
I. L.

T. T.
Great friendly place to stop for GREAT coffee and a bite to eat
M. H.
Very friendly, good service. Only went in for a coffee.
D. M.
Super cool independent spot for breakfast or a snack. Coffee is great, and the food is fairly basic but delicious - the overnight oats are huge and the burrito is highly recommended. A must visit in the Barbican
C. S.
Defiantly the coolest cafe in town, great coffee and food (and a cheeky beer if you are in the mood) which is always served with good friendly service. They have recently moved the service area to the rear of the store, opening up a great space. Forget the corporate chains in town and take a stroll down to the Barbican for your fix!
K. P.
Mmmm, top notch carrot cake and chocolate brownie! Delicious coffee too. Not the cheapest cake, defo in the Marks n Sparks bracket, which is a good thing! Awesome atmosphere too. Came here in the day, can imagine it being pleasantly lively in the evening. 😁
J. B.
Officially my favourite cafe in Plymouth. Friendly staff, great location, awesome food, great coffee plus they know what I drink so it's like goimg home. Can't recommend it highly enough 👍👍👍👍
K. M.
Lovely little quirky cafe on the barbican. Good coffee , great cake selection, and the staff are always really friendly. Just wish there was a little box of toys knocking around for the kids. Highly recommend :)
A. T.
Aimed at the cyclist market with lots of nice cakes and good coffee. Convenient place to sit outside in warm sunshine or inside when the weather not as clement.
Friendly, welcoming staff.
t. h.
Lovely salad with chicken - best I have had for ages. The staff are great and coffee good too.
J.
Coffee/deli review only: coffee (espresso macchiato) was spot on and at a reasonable price. Food from the deli case (chicken tarragon pie and a sandwich) was surprisingly good. Awesome terrace area on a sunny day. Plenty of citrus infused water for the thirsty customer.
D. C.
Fantastic breakfast, Friendly staff
D. C.
Nice place to have coffee and a chat.
G. L.
At last! A cycling themed (but not exclusive!) café in Plymouth!
Great coffee (and cake!). Great location. Plus it's always nice to browse around a bike shop whilst waiting for your coffee (well I think so anyway).
This place has been responsible for some of my shortest bike rides ever! :-)
K. S.
Great service and banging bacon sandwich!
M. M.
Part bike shop, part café, this cosy eatery is a cool place to hang out. The coffee is very good indeed (although their large disease is a little small) and that is my main regular purchase but the food is also very good. However, the do have a tendency to not have menu items available for one reason or another.
j. k.
Great to back in Plymouth especially at Rockets and Rascals, as always fantastic service and friendly staff, great coffee and smoothies, looking forward to my next visit.
M. T.
3 stars for their bike workshop, 5 stars for the coffee shop = 4 stars.
There are far better places in Plymouth to get your bike serviced.
However, the coffee here is good and the cakes are delicious.
P. A.
Great service, interesting decor, lovely coffee and superb cakes. And very well priced too. What a cracking cafe
S. H.
Best coffee in Plymouth, even though other cafe's on the barbican use the same beans somehow Rockets still taste nicer! Great selection of other drinks too. A refreshing addition to a lovely area of Plymouth.
S. H.
A nice little café in Plymouth that doubles up as a bike shop. Although we only stayed for a snack and a drink, we were drawn in by the businesses décor and presentation. The staff were friendly and the cakes delicious! I will return if I am ever in Plymouth again.
R. A.

I've been very jealous of London's 'Look Mum No Hands' and Bristol's 'Mud Dock' for a number of years, so was very excited when R&R came to Plymouth. Since its opening I've found countless excuses to pop in, occasionally leaving kids with cakes, Cokes and free wifi while I browse bikes and bike gear, but mostly joining them myself for something to eat and drink while drooling from afar.
A good menu, lots of pretty bike stuff and indoor bike parking all go to make this a super bike shop/cafe. You won't regret it if you find an excuse to visit yourselves.
P. N.
Delicious Hot Chocolate. Nice atmosphere and stunning film on the TV made it a relaxing mid morning stop.
A. V.
Rocket & Rascals in Plymouth was just great. Excellent service from cafe to shop to workshop. It made my visit and the food was excellent - I had to take another piece of cake away for later
