Beautiful location right on the beach. Fantastic mix of old and new seating. We had hot drinks. One was served luke warm but quickly replaced.
Great service.

We stopped off at The Old Mill cafe in the afternoon of the last day in May, which had turned unexpectedly sunny.
There is a limited amount of seating inside and outside and as the day had turned sunny by that point we had to wait a few minutes for a table to become free.
Once we finally got a table we made our choices and I went up to order. Again, there was a little bit of a wait to place the order; I'm not sure if they were understaffed due to not expecting the sunshine to bring people out (although there seemed to be several staff serving and clearing tables) or not but eventually I was able to order the I've creams for the kids and the cream teas for the grown-ups.
While I was given the drinks straight away, the was a bit of a wait once again for the scones but when they arrived they were still steaming, fresh from the oven.
Thankfully the wait was more than made up for by the quality of the scones.

Lovely cream tea, excellent view of the beach, friendly staff and yummy Cornish pasties. My new favourite beach cafe. We'll worth the visit.

Fantastic Take Away Cream Tea in brown paper bags, the best we've had for some time. Not able to sit inside, as they are keeping to Covid restrictions, so sat outside in the courtyard.

Love the beach
Cafe fine for pasties and coffee tasty but not too many staff
Cafe looking a bit shabby
The ice cream shop up the top is good for an array of ice cream but only one staff
Need to clean the fridge where the ice cream is ...very dirty looking

We were there from opening time last weekend (half an hour later than their Facebook page said) although the pasties and coffees were great, the length of time to get served was atrocious, there were 3 staff on, a few people in the queue and we deliberately chose food they had to take straight out the cabinet and still it took a full 30 minutes to get served, understandably people were just walking away after queuing for 15 minutes, the sausage rolls aren’t too good (funny texture, almost like veggie ones) and you would have to have a lot of time on your hands if you wanted to try something cooked fresh like a bacon bap. Three stars because the staff are really polite and friendly, the pasties are lovely and the location is great. I would suggest that due to the erratic opening times (if at all some days) which may differ significantly from their Facebook page and excruciatingly long queuing times that you take your own food and drink down when visiting Wembury beach and view this place as a back up.

We visited a number of coffee shops and cafes while on holiday in south Devon, but this one had by far the best coffee, and the cakes we tried (3 different ones in the two visits that we made) were great, if a little on the expensive side (hence 4 rather than 5 stars). The second time we went, I had to sample a cream tea (with two scones), and I can vouch for how tasty that was!! I would definitely recommend this cafe.
If you're not a National Trust member then to avoid paying the exorbitant parking fee, just park up the hill a bit in the village itself and walk down. You can then pretend that you ate the cakes that you did in order to give you enough energy to walk back up the hill afterwards! :-)

Not bad at all. Super convenient for the beach and prices are very reasonable for a National Trust cafe. Good variety of food and drink available suitable for children and adults as well as takeaway coffee to enjoy on Wembury beach.

Good variety of delicious food in cafe, ample parking, steps down to cafe so no wheelchair access and no disabled toilets. Walking is fairly even round to Plymouth sound with a good variety of wildlife .. sand lizards and insects. Footpath no good for wheelchairs.

Why is there a surcharge of 40p for decaff? I have never seen this anywhere. Pricing needs reviewing. Carrot cake was delicious.

Lovely setting, nice presentation in an old historic building & fairly priced selection. It is right on the coastal path so a great place to stop for a cuppa etc. Almost off-grid as there's no WiFi & iffy mobile signal in the area.

Gluten free bread is available which opens up the menu to coeliacs and those with gluten intolerances. Quite rare to find in small beach cafes like this. Great coffee too!

Gorgeous beach and secluded, shaded, dog friendly cafe off the beaten track but close to Plymouth. Busy, so park in the church yard (remember to donate at least a couple of quid to the church) if it's busy at the beach car park. Try the ice creams too!

I walk most weeks from Plympton to Wembury and back the coastal path to Plymouth.....it's expensive. I used to get a toasted tea cake but they are small and bland and they only do strawberry jam.....boring! They charge extra for a decaf latte and they don't put a sell buy date on their sandwiches. So...instead of spending over 6 quid I make my own and sit on the beach. They need to review their prices

Lovely little spot, great views, perfect for a little something to eat after a walk. Only down side is not enough outside seating but you can see why with limited space.

Nice for an ice cream or a drink after going to the beach. I find it expensive which is the only reason I haven't given it a higher rating.
