Great place! Lovely owner and staff, always have greats tips for games and tactics. Lots of different games, from easy fun simple games to more strategic long games. Wonder food and drink, mulled wine this time of the year is always a win. The coffees are lush too.

My friend and I loved it here! There are so many games here, the staff were super nice and the food was decent. Would've preferred if there were more menu options but what they already had was tasty and fitting for a board games session. Coming back here with my family next week. Highly recommend.

The "gimmick" might be the board games (and there's a huge selection, both classic and modern), but there's also an excellent selection of drinks, both hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The pizza and cake offerings are also delicious, so it's worth popping in even if you don't have time for a game. If you're into games, the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic in helping you choose and set up, and the "double layer" tables are perfect for hiding your cards where that's necessary!

Went there with a club, the selection of games were amazing, I believe there were more than 600 games. Food and drink was amazing. Student deal was great value for money, including a 4 hour game time, a pizza and drink. The staff were lovely and the pizza was genuinely incredible. Highly recommend for groups.

i absolutely love this place! never seen so many game options in my life. we have gone multiple times and you pay 5 pounds to sit and play as many games as you want during the time slot. we normally do about three games and then are tired/times almost up. also has my favorite beer in plymouth (they have nice variety and do happy hour specials). have ordered the pizza (10/10), garlic bread (7/10), nachos (10/10), cappuccino (10/10), and espresso martini (5/10).

Good pizza, pleasant staff and great fun with the games. We sat near the window and it was freezing cold unfortunately. I felt that £5 per person to play games was a bit steep, but I guess that's what the place is about.

Twist the "Board game Cafe" is a place I have been meaning to visit for months. When I heard of the concept for the place before opening I was excited, something new and exciting for Plymouth and finally seeing it my expectations have been more then met. Twist Cafe serves Coffee's and Tea's, have a variety of flavoured syrups and offer milk alternatives including Oat milk at No extra charge which is quite pleasantly unusual. They also serve a good selection of alcoholic drinks including Ciders, Beers, Ales and spirits intact the drink selection was much more extensive then I expected by far. I had a Caramel Latte which was very nice and a great partner to the podcast I was listening to. I was a little peckish so decided to have a slice of Carrot Cake which was nice and decently sized and tasty. The main attraction however is the HUNDREDS of board games you can play and I mean hundreds! Shelves full of them and apparently even more had hiding upstairs that I did not see. The board game goes from classics like versions of Monopoly (from classic to Mario Kart edition and more) to Catan, Dark Souls, Wingspan basically all the board games you can think of and so many more you have never heard of. This will be a perfect place to have a nice drink, play a game and just have a laugh the decor and atmosphere is nice and relaxed that is perfect to play some games. Will have to return with company to play some games can't wait to return to Twist 😊.

Enjoyable afternoon, great way to catch up with friends and play some good games - old and new. The atmosphere is nice and friendly and the staff are great too. It's clean, tidy and very well laid out. The toilet were immaculate as was the food service area which served great beer and snacks. Only downside was the uncomfortable seating, my butt fell to sleep - due to the inadequate cushioning. That aside it is an enjoyable experience which I'll do again... Just maybe take a rubber ring next time. Lol.

Had an absolute blast at Twist - nothing quite like just hanging out with friends and playing games with some tasty cakes and coffee (followed by a cheeky cocktail). The staff were brilliant at explaining the rules to the games and making recommendations when we needed them. Was also really lovely to see the place full of such a variety of people from families, to couples to groups of mates. Would definitely recommend giving it a go!

A great idea. This gem of a café is the perfect place to spend a few hours with the family. With a large selection of board games there is enough to interest anyone. Their coffee was spot on as well. Once we get back to some resemblance of normality I'm bringing my family back here.

Absolutely fabulous evening. Myself and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed our date night. The food was amazing and the selection of drinks was huge and the games library is immense. We had the £30 eat out to help out offer and there was plenty of food for both of us. Great atmosphere and perfect night. Get yourself to Twist folks!!

The staff at twist are fantastic, really friendly and always have time for you (even when they are really busy!). Their huge range of board games is great, it means I get to try out new board games before buying them and there's always a game to suit my mood. Also the pizzas are really tasty! Going to twist is one of my favourite days out.

It was our first visit to Twist board game club and it was fantastic. The staff were so helpful and used their knowledge to introduce us to some fantastic new games (lots of which we have already added to our Amazon wish lists). The cafe has a great atmosphere and collection of games suitable for any age group and any interest. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Twist to anyone.

Obviously their specialty is board games and they have a lot of them. The staff are really helpful and even spend some time with people to help figure out any game rules. There is a generous amount of seating, big tables and layouts that are brilliantly suited for board games. It can be very loud as people tend to get very excitable, but a fun place nevertheless. Will definitely be visiting again some time.

We went shortly after Twist reopened following the Covid-19 pandemic. We couldn't have had a better experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere jovial and there is a fantastic selection of games. Considering how shortly we went in after their reopening and being forced to make many changes, we were just so so impressed.

I visited Twist with my friends for the first time and it was such a wonderful experience to say the least! The staff were really helpful and friendly, they explained how to play the game and helped to set it up which saves time on reading the instructions and trying to work out how to play the games. They also offered to recommend games to us based on what sort of game we fancied playing. The food looked wonderful & the decor is super cool! The variety of games are amazing too, there is something for everyone and every age. The Twist is a great addition to Plymouth. I will definitely recommend it to my friends & family and come back in the future.

Parked in multi storey round the corner. Weather was atrocious so I went in with my mum for coffee, and stayed to play backgammon for an hour. Really good decaf coffee (oat milk) with a scrumptious gluten free brownie, the games were clean with no pieces missing 😎. We were both very impressed, and we are tempted to go later next time for pizza and good beer.

Helpful, enthusiastic staff willing to recommend and introduce games from a wide variety both on the shop floor plus even more stacked away on shelves upstairs. A helpful colour code system to indicate different levels and difficulty each game type represents is also present. In addition to this, a decent selection of cocktails/mocktails, soft drinks, milkshakes and more is available to order from waitered service, for a reasonable price. Interesting to see a selection of snack-like foods perfect for accompanying a four hour board gaming session. Pizza is now also available, I believe. Went as a group of four, in a semi diner booth. Diner seats were comfy but the chairs on the other side a little less so, for such a long sit down anyway. Would highly recommend for a quiet night out, so to speak.
