Service was good. Enjoyed my meal too. Had a rice with spicy curry soup which tested like peanut soup, but I did like it though. If you are looking for a cool Vietnamese restaurant in Reading, I will recommend you check it out. It is located at the town centre too. Staff was really friendly too

Pho is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere especially with a charming waiter whose name is Apostolos. My accomplice and myself sat down to a wonderful meal of Vietnamese cuisine. My friend said to her a vegan meal was fragrant and yummy. To Go with her wonderful personality. Myself had the hot and spicy beef slow cooked brisket noodles and they were definitely hot and spicy. My last point to make is that this restaurant is very friendly and nice and warming.

Great place both for takeaway and eat in. When I don’t want to cook but I want to eat something healthy, this is my go to place. Food always tastes fresh, light and they have loads of gluten free options. My personal favourite is the garlic steak pho with prawn summer rolls. The chicken fried rice is also really good though quite spicy. Would recommend!

I have experienced world class Pho beef noodle soup in Asia, hence I can give this outfit only three stars. Nevertheless, the Beef Pho soup I was served at this Pho restaurant tasted okay, was satisfying to my stomach, and I gobbled up the whole bowl. The restaurant is spacious, wasn’t too busy, but is rather unfashionable.

First time of visiting Pho, and we took our 3 kids (aged from 10 to 14). It was fantastic. We had a range from fried noodles, broth to a curry. All the food was fresh and flavoursome. Its now on our list as a restaurant to go to when we are out and about in Reading. Staff were friendly and provided good customer service. Definitely worth a visit.

Went to Pho for a work social lunch and the service for all 14 of us was absolutely brilliant. The manager was super helpful, knowledgeable and up-beat. The food was delicious and came in good time and the overall atmosphere was lovely too! Would definitely visit again!

Fab food great service from Chloe We all felt like we were valued customers. Pre booked stating wheelchair user dining with us. Smooth settling us in ensuring we were comfortable. Once again we were not disappointed with a lovely gesture to end his birthday meal. Delicious Food-Requires Patience I ate at Pho for the first time. This place is located in the Oracle shopping center. It has somewhat of a “diner feel.” But it’s atmosphere is nice. Very loud and very crowded. I ordered the Ramen Noodle with chicken, and my husband ordered the beef rice bowl with vegetables. It seemed to take forever for our food to be prepared (in reality, about 30 minutes), but it arrived at our table hot and delicious. Everything was at a reasonable price. We’ll definitely return

Nice ambience. This is first time I experienced vietnamese food, and I really enjoyed it. Staffs are good, helping. Also they well maintained the guidelines during covid pandemic. Travelled all over Vietnam over the last 20 years and even met my wife there. The Vietnamese spring rolls are about right but instead of Pho I tried the rice for a change but was too salty and far too spicy for Vietnamese. The egg was burnt, the rice too dry and overcooked as with the chicken. Service was good. No Tiger beer as was the only beer in Vietnam originally. I miss the small plastic chairs, granny cooking and sandbags. It was OK but wouldn’t survive in Viet Nam.

Great experience! The staff are very polite, welcoming and friendly. The decor is very nice with solid wood, wicker lamp shades and steet art style paintings of a Vietnamese village. The food was filling, warming and well presented. I could taste how fresh the ingredients are and the flavours were perfectly balanced! Overall, the food was delicious and all of the staff made our visit an enjoyable one!

Nice modern restaurant with good vibes. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable with the menu (you can tell they have been trained well). Went when it just opened up, so it was pretty hyped and busy then. Food was tasty offering wide range of choice and the drinks complimented the variety well. Prices are reasonable and would recommend to try at least once to see if it is for you.

Outstanding, authentic Vietnamese food! I went to Pho with my wife and another couple with their 10 year old. The menu is quite authentic Vietnamese food, which means if you have a seafood/shellfish food allergy (as I do) or a peanut allergy you may not be able to have your first or second choice on the menu. However, the staff is very studious about food allergies, asking everyone at the table prior to us ordering. I have a severe shellfish allergy and the server went back and forth to the kitchen to check if certain dishes contained any allergens and even if there could be a cross-contamination issue, which there was with the spring rolls. The meals were unbelievably flavourful and colourful, and the portion size was very large. All of us left quite full and very happy with our choice to eat at Pho. We will return soon.

Interesting and worth a visit, staff were great and overall I enjoyed the food. Lotus Sprout starter was a little bland and I purposely picked a main without coriander (can't stand it) the herbs and veggies came on the side which is a great idea but everything tasted of coriander still.

Highly crowded but good food the way I like it. Good flavours, good spice element, seating was issue though. We were accomodated on a small table so had a real hard time as the ordered dishes could not be placed. Due to this the sauces had to be removed and the water too. That spoiled the whole experience.

This place is the hidden jewel of Reading. Superb customer service mixed with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that's difficult to match. Let none of that distract you from the star of the show though... the food. It's simply amazing. The beef in betel leaf (photo) is an absolute must. Only discovered Pho yesterday lunchtime and have now eaten here twice in two days! Food is fantastic but what really makes this a go-to restaurant is the friendliness of the staff. The recruitment team at Pho obviously know how to recognise exceptional people! The food is authentic Vietnamese. I just wish they served the banh xeo at lunchtime! Will definitely be returning time and time again.

It was quite crowded but the customer service was excellent. We were seated in around 15 mins or so the lady who looked after us was very good. You could see she was really tired but was still so cheerful and pleasant. The starters were good and the wok fried noodles were excellent too. I felt the hot and spicy soup had a strong flavour of onions and maybe next time might just try a different favour.

Not a far cry for being a “Vietnamese” alternative to Wagamama’s “Japanese” food. I write in quotations, because of the lack of authentic flavours involved. The food in itself (the presentation) very much depicts what it looks like in its authentic form, but the taste is white washed. Nonetheless, the atmosphere is good, and the staff are helpful. Food is of good quality despite lack of flavour.

If you want something healthy, Pho is the place to go. The broth is light and you can add seasonings and herbs to your liking. Worth the price. The reason why I had only given it 4 stars, the time I went there it wasn't that busy but we did wait for awhile to be served. I wanted to introduce my friends to Vietnamese cuisine, so, I took them to this restaurant. I must give 5 stars for this restaurant. Because, they left me with no choice. The place is vegan friendly. I tried summer role and it was amazing. No words to describe the peanut sauce that comes with the summer role. My friends ordered king prawn pho and chicken pho. They enjoyed it a lot. In simple words, their first pho experience was very good. The recipes were very delicate. The proportion of spices were perfect. The quantity was perfect. The table was clean and nice. The ambience was very good. Its perfect place for meeting friends for a meal and relaxing conversation. Also a great place for dates. The waiters were very friendly and professional. They all followed the social distancing norms nicely. I would highly recommend this place if you want try Vietnamese cuisine. I couldn't think of anything negative about this place.

The food is very good, they give plenty extra ingredient as well to make it more like your taste. I ate Vietnamese only in other countries until now, therefore I was curious about the differences. The summer roll is like everywhere, fresh and "crunchy", but the peanut sauce is more like butter. The bún bò huế is a little bit different, then usual: not that sour and hot I am used to, and made with pulled beef. I guess they made every recipe to be closest to UK taste, but I don't complain. The only thing I complain about are the prices: I think they are higher than should be.

Nice food and people but by trying to trick me into paying the "optional service charge" it put by back up... I really really enjoyed my lovely authentic Vietnamese food here. I had a rice bowl with vegan chicken substitute and other vegetables. The taste was so nice and like nothing I'd tried before. I noticed a huge amount of soups on the menu which us the speciality. I really liked the simple wooden interior and relaxed atmosphere. The servers were really nice. The one sticking point was that if I hadn't read the receipt properly i would have been charged for the optional extra service charge because it was just added onto the card charge before i intervened and asked about it. The person was nice but it seemed like they were taught to do that. In America when tips make up all of a server's wage, tipping is rhe way forward, but here in the UK it is not the same. I'm afraid out if principle it seems untrustworthy to do this for an optional service charge and then assume you'll pay it. Things like that really irk me I'm afraid. If you were very confident about your service etc then you wouldn't need to try and sneak in extra money.

Since writing this review Pho has again gone above and beyond for exceptional customer service in responding to our poor experience last visit. I am continually impressed with the personal attention and welcoming atmosphere extended at Pho and it is what makes dining at Pho in Reading a step above. A bit shocked and quite dissapointed. My husband and I ordered a click and collect and when I arrived to collect, I came through the front door and when the staff noticed me, directly ushered me out to stand and wait with the deliveroo service staff. She didn't realize her mistake until my order was ready and then began to apologize profusely and said she didn't realize I was a customer and would have offered me a seat to wait. Hopefully next time they will inquire first if you are a customer before acting. I have always been made to feel at home at Pho and this service tonight was shocking. On top of this, we arrived home to find they had given us the spicy version of my husband's chicken curry order which he found too spicy to eat. What a waste of an anticipated nice meal.

I tried the mushroom and tofu (plant-based) dish and it was incredible 🤤 100% recommend. My friends and I visited this restaurant whilst traveling and so we had a lot of luggage. Visited Pho for the first time tonight and I will 100% be returning. The staff couldn't of been more helpful and accommodating. I'm Gluten free and was so happy to find I could eat almost everything bar 1 item on the menu (this never happens anywhere). I ordered a dish and wasn't 100% happy with, the manager (without any promoting at all) noticed I wasn't really eating the dish and offered to swap it for something else, which was so kind and something that they didn't have to do. Needless to say the curry along with my starter was delicious and I appreciated him offering to do that. If you haven't visited, make sure you do Great food and even better customer service!

Have to say this is our fave place to eat. Ever. The food is incredible, the vegan/ veggie options are lush, the staff cannot do enough to help out or make you feel welcome, they are happy and welcoming and friendly and that makes such a difference when eating out. Every time we go the staff check in with us and more so when I went on my own. They are great. The atmosphere is chilled and everything together just works. The food is only part of the story in this wonderful place located right in the heart of Reading! Having a meal here is not just eating but what makes the difference is the care that the waiting team brings to the experience! From the careful explanation of the menu to the "just right" banter, this added an incredible vibe to the restaurant. The food was well priced and the portions were generous. Absolutely love this place! I'm gluten intolerant and the fact most of the menu is gluten free is perfect. Great range of food available, fried noodles, soups and even chicken nuggets served in a more Asian style for kids. Lovely fresh pressed juices, homemade lemonade, you can garnish your dish to your taste. Good for families and has highchairs but we couldn't locate any baby changing facilities which was a shame. Service is always very sunny and friendly, waiters are great with small children. Could also see myself coming here for a date night with my partner. All in all pretty brilliant!

Food was very good as usual, exceptional waitress Spaska (Stacey). however on the negative side - FOOD Hygiene: had a clear view of the food preparation area - staff member had almost shoulder length hair with no hair covering, hands not washed between handling different food types, serving ice cream it fell on the counter which she picked up in her hands placed on the plate then proceeding to lick her fingers? and continued handling food? - she was spoken to after which she felt the need to give us 'dagger' looks. by the time we were served our main course, the person in question had her hair covered and was using utensils to present the food on the plates. In fairness the Manager, did speak with us and made a kind gesture - however at the end of the day there is no excuse for bad food hygiene practices and attitude aimed a guests of an establishment especially on view. That one incident was disappointing but overall the service and food very good.

If you're looking for a lunch or dinner out Pho is your place to visit. Good variety of Vietnamese food, the waiters are great at answering questions and explaining the dishes and condiments. Very urban feel inside with atmospheric music. You can see the service hatch for the kitchen so can see a few of the chefs at work. Waiters are often personable and friendly, I always end up tipping generously as the dining experience is just great. I recommend the satay (peanut) sauce as a side for your spring rolls or ask to have it with your main too, it adds another layer of flavour to the broken rice dishes.
