I would highly recommend checking it out when you can as its only a 5m walk away from riverside. They also have local bands play in there so you can get some live music to listen too

A huge selection of beers and a gorgeous little shop next door selling beautiful, fair trade artisan products. Really close to town also, so great before heading to the cinema!

G. N.First visit in years, pleased to find it hadn't changed. Still great Ethiopian food (the only place I've ever had it), still a little bit earnest... But if you like that sort of thing (and I do) it's pretty good - friendlier than some of these sorts of places, too.
A. M. G.This places gets really busy when there are live music events but really good environment, cosy places in general. They also serve food although I haven't tried I heard it is quite exotic and varied.
T. A.This is the best independent bar in Reading by far. Been drinking here for 17 years on and off. Talk to the staff, they will tell you about all the events etc. Very calm in the day and often busy later on, but always a good friendly vibe and a safe space for all. X

J. D.Amazing range of diverse food (Ethiopian specialties), shop, great local events and an award winning roof-top garden. If available I strongly recommend visiting the garden, I couldn't believe the size of some of the plants/trees planted on only ~30-40 cms of topsoil!

Very laid back atmosphere, don't expect too much, but it's nice for a change.

B. C.Alternative independent cafe/restaurant/club in central Reading. Delicious Ethiopian and other regions food. Vegan options available. Unusual beer brands, cakes and other drinks and nibbles. Alternatively designed space. Order at the bar. Various activities, life music, concerts, poetry, meetings etc. Clean restaurant, toilets need sometimes attention. Next door is fair trade independent shop selling various goods, eco friendly toiletries and healthy food.
O. H.Chilled atmosphere, relaxing vibes. Moderately priced. Decent bands playing regularly, with occasional events supporting a variety of causes. Great place to just hang out with friends.

P. B.Lovely place to experience a bit of the alternative. Don't fancy anything alcoholic in the evening - they are more than happy to serve tea/ coffee etc. Plenty of alternative and world foods available and some interesting live performanes from time to time!
a.Always a fascinating place to visit and somewhere trying to make a difference. Love the fairtrade philosophy and the beautiful things you can buy. We had hot chocolates in the café and they were tasty too.

M. R.An interesting place, shabby and quirky but fun to be. Servs some funky African food that you either like or not but good for vegetarians. There is also a cafe and a shop with traditional African crafts.
G.Eclectic mix of nick knacks from around the world. I got my favourite coffee and some Christmas tree decorations! Really friendly people... Take your unwanted carrier bags so they can reuse them!
