Basically they didnt want cook food that is on the menu (pancakes) at 11.30am . I presume they wanted to concentrate on breakfasts only , leaving me with a very disappointed little 7yr old girl . C'mon Its on the menu guys 👎. ..........................UPDATE ! thanks for the quick response, i fully accept your apology, i now understand fully the situation , i just wish it had been explained properly at the time . Remember going here as a kid with my Mum in the 80's when they used to have the orange plastic chairs and Elvis memorabilia on the walls. All changed now though, still a great place with really nice staff.

Visited Annie's this morning the Covid safety measures are very very good. Ordered 1 mini monster breakfast & 1 mega breakfast. Food was really nice, service very good. The cafe very clean. It's a must visit. Oh and good value for money

Nice breakfast, cooked properly only downside wad my partner got egg in his baguette when it clearly stated no egg was to be in it and he got no cheese when questioned this we were abruptly told we were wrong by one of the staff members so we didn't bother to ask for the toast he paid for but forgot to bring out and chips were okay nothing special alright for a hangover brekkie I guess.

Been going here on and off for a few years. Always get what you pay for. Good value for money. Better than some breakfasts that you pay twice the amount for! Ordered the Big Fella and was comfortably full after. Decor hasn't changed in a number of years but it's no nonsense greasy spoon. Service is prompt and friendly.

Staff are very friendly and always provide the best Customer Service!!! I have traveled up and down the country and for fry up you cant beat the overall quality of the food...You can even ring in advice to get your orders made so you don't have to wait which is bonus when your in a rush for a football match or in rush for work which is very helpful. Definitely best cafe in Southampton.

Lovely greasy spoon. I had the cheese, bacon mushroom toasted sandwich and a cup of tea, both served promptly with a smile. Toilet was clean and tidy. The owners must take pride in the place, as they should.

Good place for a builders breakfast, its a typical greasy spoon that serves food quickly and in good quantity. Coffee is great and there is a good selection of juices in the fridge as well. The menu is extensive and will cater for you no matter what you want in your breakfast. you can also build your own breakfast. I would prefer to have an option of some premium sausages but thats my preference. It gets busy but there is never a long wait. Seating is ok for a quick visit and clean so thats a bonus compared to some other cafes locally. All round, good grub, good customer service.

The food is delicious and well presented (we noticed the chip butty had only increased by 40p since 1998). There are many breakfast options from large frys to absolutely monstrous. The service is friendly and the ambience clean and well maintained with great value for money at this long established family business. In short, this is a Southampton institution.

It's all about expectations really. It's a greasy spoon diner that serves all-day breakfasts and fry food. We weren't particularly greeted in any great friendly way. The staff were all crowded in the cooking area which is the customer service area as well where the till is. One member of staff was on her phone, another was eating and drinking while working. The most conversation we had with staff was "that costs extra" and "that's an extra £1.40" etc when deciding on drinks. We sat down to await our food. Most of the place is clean and presentable enough. The cutlery was presented at tables stored in washed up baked beans tins which were dirty in the bottom. The radio was quite loud but we were sat pretty close to the till. The food arrived. Servings were generous and good value but our orders were confused so we had a bit of food swapping between our plates. Great quality food in general but hash browns were slightly hard and a lot of food was drowned by the juice from the cooked tomatoes. In short, we were well fed for a good price but don't expect too much in smiley customer service and professionalism.
