Lovely place, has a Chic look & feel, one guy serving with the queue going out the door, so waited 20 minutes to be served, was it worth the wait… 🤔. The veganuary offer is fairly appealing it’s a must try & the hot chocolate is fairly yummy, four out of five for this trip. P.S local parking is a nightmare!

This is one of my 'go to' places when I need to do some work or just chill out. There is a social space outside, inside, and a quiet zone to work. The wall morals are beautiful and the original features are cosy. Staff are so friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful service. Superb server, whilst running the place on her own, made the best double espresso, dealt with unbearably rude customers- didn't even bite at the customer telling her about her PhD while telling her to smile- and made my baby laugh. Completely unflustered by the horrendous rudeness of aforementioned customer, she continued masterfully brewing with one hand, spinning plates with another, toasting teacakes with her elbow and remaining calm with a glorious stiff upper lip. Nice place , lovely food, the price is okay. I love the interior design of it. I don't live in Southampton but used to visit my daughter when she was there. I love this Coffee#1. We always made our way there. Friendly, clean, great coffee, comfortable layout and fantastic place to watch the world go by. My favourite coffee shop.

Such a nice and friendly team. I went inside the cafe early in the morning to get a ham and cheese panini and they haven't put it out on sale yet but they went out back and opened the delivery early just to get my breakfast. Very helpful and service with a smile.

Very friendly and welcoming staff member, who was happy to carry my order to my table as I was on a crutch, due to my disability. As always, the coffee here is great value and quality. Plenty of seating both inside and out on the forecourt...so prime (if rather noisy) people watching territory... although this is Portswood, so expect plenty of the usual suspects and the tracksuit wearing, feet shufflers. If you need a tea or coffee, then Coffee#1 at Portswood should be on the radar. Recommended.

Lovely coffee the prices have just gone up and they are more expensive than else where but I still come here. Lovely setting, the open windows are lovely in the the summer. Went there many times with my friends. As I love coffee I like that you can choose type of a coffee you want to. They also offering smoothies which are very nice. Prices are okay for a coffee. I tried some cakes there as well most of them were pretty amazing but there was one I didn’t like as much. Coffee lovers go and try this place. And don’t forget to take loyalty card.

Coffee#1 as a brand and this particular branch situated in the heart of Portswood Road in Southampton constitute among my favourites to consult on a frequent basis. Upon entering this charming establishment, one is greeted by the charming and concurrent fusion of dark yet warm settings that pervade it's ambience, a somewhat unique characteristic discerning of all Coffee#1 shops and this particular branch being no exemption. Such an atmosphere renders itself as being immensely cosy and welcoming in nature. The aforementioned is significantly further augmented by the very high standards of customer service and care combined with the meticulously crafted coffee permeated beverages that comprise their robust menu. The staff display a persistent degree of enthusiasm, care and courtesy towards their customers and endeavour to be as accommodating of them as is possible. This is strongly reflected in the consistency and quality of the coffees that they produce. A particular favourite of mine happens to be the oat milk substituted pumpkin spiced latte that boasts a unique and profoundly enticing taste and texture. On a final note, I feel inclined to tender a few words of praise to the management team of Liam and Sara for their efforts in forging such a cohesive and competent team of staff and for sustaining the branch in such a consistent manner. For all those among us who possess a deep vested passion for the world of coffee and have yet to immerse themselves in this particular branch, a sincere invitation extends for them to do so. I love their fresh and very reasonably priced juices. Probably the only place in Portswood offering this range of healthy drinks. Comfy seating. Big windows. Possible to sit outside in the sun on the pavement. However, the road is noisy. Not their fault though. So probably the best you can do in this high street location.

I really wish it was possible to give this place three and a half stars as the setting is really nice and the coffee is great but for a coffee shop that is obviously trying to be the best it makes several errors. I'd love to make Coffee 1 my regular dive but unfortunately Starbucks (yes Starbucks) offers a wider range of dairy free milks and a wider range of wheat and dairy free food. If you dont have a problem with normal cows milk and normal cakes then this is a great place but if like me you do then you may well find their range limited.

These are one of my favourite coffee shops as they really have a nice artisan feel to them, coffee number one in Shirley is another of my go to coffee shops. Comfy seats and a good choice of drinks and cakes and sandwiches.

A great, vibrant, busy, meetup coffee house. But it's very busy with students and more so can be hard to find a seat or hear what your friend has to say. Coffee is very nice. Bit stronger than your average. Prices are still sky high like all coffee shops. A large isn't as large as a Costa.

Absolutely love coffee #1. The coffee is the best you'll get from a "chain" coffee shop, and the Portuguese tarts and Welsh cakes are the best I've had. Despite being a chain, it feels like a little independent business - there's a real community feel. The staff are all lovely and welcoming. It's places like this that are why me and my partner want to stay around portswood!

Wide door and entrance to the till and main areas, toilets are at the back of the coffee shop. My favourite is the Ginger bread Hot chocolate 😋 my partner tryed the rubarb coffee and said it was really nice. Dogs are allowed in certain areas off the shop to. The baristas are really friendly and knowledgeable, the coffee is always superb and the variety of drinks available is good. Lovely place to come and relax with a book, free WiFi for 30 minutes too which is handy. Check out their coconut mocha, it's divine!

As a confirmed 'Costaholic' I think that this is easily the best coffee shop in Southampton. Superb coffee and food. I just wish the Staff (who are brilliant by the way) would remember their customers when emptying the dishwasher. They have a tendency to crash the baskets on the counter and then proceed to crash all the cups and glasses as they put them on the shelves. It won't sound loud to them as they are doing the job but if they placed rather than crash the baskets it would really improve the customer's experience. Despite this small criticism, I love this coffee shop.
