A lovely, light, bright cafe area in the foyer area of the Church Hall. Craft activities also going on in neighbouring rooms, according to time & day. Serves excellent food and tea/coffee at reasonable prices. Highly recommended. Well worth a visit.

A great idea. Tea, coffee, lovely home made (Love Cake) cakes and an opportunity to create a crafty something (decoupage) to brighten up a room. My 6 and 2 year old love it. You buy a little something (Alphabet letters, dinosaurs, boxes etc. ) and then glue(supplied) small, thumbnail sized, colourful pieces of thin paper (supplied) to the object creating your work of art. (Makes great small gifts). Word of warning it can take quite a time to complete especially when it comes to the littler ones, that will need help, but it's well worth it.

Nice and clean but disappointed with the 'make ' part, in the last place they really did get the kids creating with decoupage etc but here it's a few felt tips and scratch art, whether it's so the place stays clean I don't know, staff are nice but the last place was a proper homely crafty place for the kids, have to make the trek to poppies in Romsey for the crafting bit.

Make and Brew is our happy place. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times we have been. The new space is stunning and we cant wait for restrictions to ease so that we can try it out properly. The loveliest food and drink, owned and served by the most wonderful humans. (club sarnie is the best you will ever taste FACT) X

This is my local cafe and I absolutely love it. The coffee is perfect and the sweet treats on offer are too tempting and always delicious. I’d recommend the caramel chocolate slice, it’s so good. The lunch options are all yummy- yes I’ve tried most of them! Lots of young families spend time here and it has a lovely community feel. Really good value for money and plenty of options for little ones. I have been to a few workshops in the evening, I learnt a new skill and met some new people :-) I wouldn’t suggest working from the cafe, it can get a little loud due to the wee ones! However, that just adds to the lovely atmosphere. You can also purchase cute craft items. Best cafe in Southampton.

Lovely little coffee shop, just a little of the beaten track. They do a really good selection of cakes and sandwiches. Coffee and hot chocolate were both rather good too. The girls working there are really friendly and helpful, it will not be long before I head back again!

Lovely cafe, friendly family atmosphere! Cakes and bread are baked by the family business I think. Certainly they look very tempting tho we were not eating there on this occasion. There are highchairs available for small "people" and art and craft materials available for older children. The cafe is not big but it did not feel crowded. The tables were clean and homely and the service wss prompt and willing. Our tea came with hot water and extra milk as requested. Well worth a "pop-in" with an appetite so you can sample the cakes!

A local to the area but had never been there before until now. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a selection of baked cakes on view, a menu for sandwiches, and a drinks board. We ordered takeaway sandwiches and drinks. Surprisingly, we waited a good 10 minutes before we left with them, which considering the café had only had another couple in, seemed quite a long time to wait. To their credit though, they were both delicious. Maybe the wait was a one off but I guess it was worth the wait.

What's not to like, this place is fantastic! Delicious, well considered breakfasts/lunches. Fresh cakes from the nearby bakers. Wide selection of drinks - good coffee with choice of non-dairy milks if required. Friendly staff. Can be busy at times - and sticky with glue/paper and general craft activities, though there seems to be always a place to sit for just eating/drinking.

As always we enjoyed our visit to this lovely friendly cafe. Our tea and coffee were served with a, smile, the chocolate tiffin was amazing and our little grandson was well looked after with a babycinno, pumpkin cake and a, selection of toys to play with!!

A small cafe with a good menu of light meals of sandwiches and soup. I liked the sandwich, a good size, fresh and tasty. I'd prefer a plate as the food tends to fall off the small wooden board and my table had not been cleaned since the last meal served on it. I've been here a couple of times and will be back to try the soup :)

I love this place! It's both professional/child and baby (and pram!) friendly cafe with a warm and bright area to relax in. We naturally spread out a little and it's never cramping anyone else's space which is good. The staff are always calm and smiling and helpful, and the food options are ace. They also have baked goods to suit all preferences (*chocolate tiffin*). Very highly recommended.

The perfect local coffee shop. Make & Brew make the best coffee in Southampton as well as a daily selection of home made cakes and a brilliant breakfast / lunch menu. They also stock a large range of decoupage which can be crafted with in the cafe. On top of this they are a real community business and add so much to the St James area. Thanks!

A great place to take toddlers for a morning's activity. Good quality, well priced coffee. Babychinos for the little ones, great value bakes. My 2 year old loves doing the decopatch activities. The team are very friendly and equally helpful. We'll worth a visit.
