The loveliest cafe I have been to in quite some time! Friendly staff and great food are a good combo! We were looking for somewhere that was dog friendly to grab a coffee on oir trip back home, and ended up enjoying a really nice lunch and coffee cake for dessert. Lilly-Mae enjoyed a doggie ice cream too. Wish we were closer to pop in more often!

Great place to go, I live alone with my dog and I enjoy a good coffee. There's not enough places that allow dogs, this place is great, dog friendly - even do dog ice cream! Very friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely will be returning. Only 4/5 as its a tad expensive

We absoloutely love this place. Great atmosphere, gorgeous ice creams, homemade cakes, lunches, teas, barista coffees & more. They do craft evenings and live music too. Certainly worth a visit.

Amazing place! The café and it's toilet are always clean. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. It's not just for ice cream! They also serve a wide range of hot and cold drinks, a few cakes and a lunch menu. The lunch menu is limited but lovely. I recently took a friend there for lunch, we both had soup (of which there are usually 2 types on offer). It was lovely, fresh and hot! My daughter loves the little teddy cones. They are the perfect size for a toddler/small child. It also sells wonderful, locally crafted items.

The Songbird is my favourite ice-cream and drinks café! Delicious ice cream, drinks, cake and some food (my children LOVE having the Teddy Bear's Picnic for lunch!). The staff are so friendly, and there is a really relaxed atmosphere, which is also child friendly. Selection of locally made items for sale. Comfy seating and an outside 'secret garden' area are up a few stairs, and wheelchair accessible seating downstairs. Be aware that the toilet is upstairs, however I think you can access this floor from a side entrance which is sloped up from the pavement, if you would struggle with the stairs.

They accept dogs and have good outdoor seating, always very friendly. Good for coffee, cream teas, nibbles, ice-cream and panini's. perfect for brunch or lunch, and very close to riverside park for dog walking and kids playground. The staff are lovely and make the environment very inviting.

This last time we went we tried something different. We decided to do the all you can eat option. If you love different kinds of meat, I recommend this. If you ask for this, you will be asked to wait a few minutes up front so they can prepare your table. The tables in back have small grills built into them. Just pick 3 meats at a time from the menu and cook them yourself right on the table.

Pretty little café (in fact, not so little, it's a lot bigger than it looks). Great cake and ice cream, including doggie ice cream. Totally dog friendly. Nice staff. Comfortable. A tad expensive, but well worth it. And homely.

Lovely little independent ice cream cafe in Bitterne Park. It's my local and my favourite place to meet people for tea and cake and my partner and I regularly get our ice creams here on sunny days. Nice selection of ice creams and cakes. Does some lunch things (paninis and soup I think) but for a limited time in the middle of the day. Brunch things (toast, crumpets, teacakes) served all day. Not cheap but it's a small independent business so not unreasonable. Beautifully decorated and it runs a lot of creative classes/events. Also sells cards and some jewellery.

This is a really nice quirky coffee shop located in the heart of Bitterne Park. The staff were great and apparently the cake was delicious. Make sure if it's a nice afternoon you make use of the garden hidden away out the back. I still remember when this used to be a pet shop.
