Reviews of Wonderberrys

My partner and I must've walked passed this cafe numerous times and never noticed it until today (the tinted windows makes the place less conspicuous?).
Inside was quite spacious with a great number of tables and places to sit. For dog owners, the garden will be opened in the next couple of weeks, according to the staff (who were really friendly and welcoming I should say). More importantly, the cakes and pastries were just wonderful. I had the Victoria Sponge which was really moist, fluffy and not overtly sweet. My partner had the donut of the day which was filled with a Kinder- Nutella and cream gooey centre contained in a crispy, scrummy exterior. Quite happy with the generous cup of cappuccino as well.
Overall what a lovely neighbourhood cafe that's conveniently just down the road from where we live. It's definitely worth a visit!

Wonderberrys is amazing. Me and my friends go almost weekly for the Doughnut of the Week which never disappoints! The cake is utterly divine too 😍 could not recommend more!

First time here, been recommended for the cakes. Minor issue with the pdq machine, but lucky we had some cash. The carrot cake was really nice. The lemon and blue berry was slightly over cooked, but still had good flavour. All the cakes looked really nice and did struggle to pick.

Great cafe, if you like cake you will not be disappointed be warned portions are huge. Good place to buy coffee as well and the sandwiches are really good to.

I want to say a huge thank you to your team for the professional and efficient way in which you provided us with delicious sandwiches and cakes for my dads thanksgiving celebration. Despite a last minute increase in numbers you rose to the challenge and delivered fantastic food in a timely way. I simply love your down to earth approach and have always enjoyed our trips to your cafe in Bursledon. I look forward to coming in to your new cafe in Netley.

Myself & everyone I have introduced to Wonderberrys have fallen in love with this little gem. It's nice to have a local coffee shop that has such a friendly and comforting feel unlike some mainstream chains. Really lovely food especially the bacon sandwiches and cakes 🥰
The staff are always very efficient and it is always spotlessly clean. Couldn't reccomend highly enough, definitely the best coffee shop in our area 😁

The best gluten free doughnuts! Fully knowledgeable about cross contamination.
Also do gluten free bread too!
Side note if you’re non coeliac the other cakes and doughnuts look incredible too!

Absolutely beautiful place, never let down by the service that Charlotte and her team provide! Beautiful homemade cakes, sandwiches and coffees. Now that Wonderberrys is in Netley, the decor, upholstery and overall vibe is PERFECT. Congrats on your new venture!

Opening day was a triumph. So busy but all staff kept their cool. Doughnuts, cakes and everything else was delicious as usual. £7.95 for a coffee, a doughnut and a brookie was a nice surprise! Charlotte, you've outdone yourself. Long may it last. I will be a regular for sure! ♥️

Went for cake and a doughnut for the first time - what an amazing addition to Netley- we have been crying out for a coffee shop of this quality for years (no offence Netley Nibbles / Cherrywood). What a triumph - most importantly the cake was fabulous - my husband is not a man to wax lyrical about cake but said “I think I’m addicted to doughnuts”.. - but the decor and ambience is lovely, with really friendly and helpful staff. We will def be regulars!

Nice environment. Welcomed straight away. Given a booth like VIPs as we were having a afternoon tea. Staff were attentive and polite. Was then told us what was in store for us. From then it was a bit disappointing. It was an afternoon tea for 3. But it was served on a cake stand designed for 2. Ultimately you tell yourself it's going to be crammed on or less. Turns out as I suspected was less. We were told we could have all sorts of tea mixes. Unfortunately I'm not a tea drinker. Was told filter coffee was an option. Not a fan of that either. So asked if latte was an option and I'd pay extra. That wasnt and I'd have to pay the full price. Normally I pay just a little extra elsewhere. The cake stand was bought and for your money there were 4 sandwiches each an inch wide on the bottom layer. No options available. 1 ham and I think pickle. Wasnt sure as it was spread so thin. 1 egg and mayonnaise on white bread Fine. 1 beef and horseradish. The beef was thin and bizarrely a cucumber sandwich on white bread. No options to bread preference either. I'm not a fan of white bread. But it wasnt even a nice white bread. Just your standard average sliced loaf. Put together it would have been equivalent to a sandwich with the crusts off. We saw all these delicious cakes as we entered the shop and I thought we were in for a treat. On the middle plate of the cake stand that would normally serve 2 were 4 different cakes crushed together. Standard cakes. 1 small brownie each. Approximately 2" by 3". 1 caramel and pretzel shortcake each.. And a piece carrot cake all the same size. The other cake was like a Victoria sponge with the cream and jam on top was smaller still. There were scones on the top tier which were smaller than average. But were told there was another one if we wanted it. Lashings of clotted cream and enough jam. But to be fair how much cream can you put on a scone. Personally at £16.50 each at a total cost of £49.50 + £5 extra for coffee I'd go somewhere else. I have had afternoon tea elsewhere and it was far more superior to this, for less. I'm not a big eater. But I left feeling less than satisfied and rather peckish to say the least. Normally I feeling rather full after the cakes and ask for a box for the cream teas so I could have them later. We would have been better off going in as normal customers. Ordering a sandwich, slice of cake and coffee of our choice for the same price. I'd have been far happier and felt less ripped off. And to be fair their normal sandwich and cake did look delicious as we walked out and looked what others had ordered. If you're going to visit. Just use their normal menu. You may not feel so let down

Looked forward to first visit, but very dissapointing.
It was 9.45 & there were 3 of us. Just one 2 seater table was already ccupied. We asked to sit in the window, but we're told no, that a 4 seater please sit there - right next to the only other occupied table!
We moved to a different 3 seater, as it felt ridiculous.
The food looked nice but the cake was rather tasteless because its straight from a fridge. The doughnut was lovely.
The staff need to engage more, smile occasionally and they need to create a welcoming atmosphere.
What a shame.

1st visit this afternoon & I wasn't disappointed. Fresh coffee, wonderful homemade cakes & decor is fantastic. Staff very friendly. Just love the place

No table service available not the best start ..lots of staff flicking about the cake wasn't very good ,it was hard & dry and clearly not cooked by Mary Berry..I was expecting more from the hype before it opened ..lacking in menu choice..sadly I won't come visit again if this is the best they can offer can't see folk putting up with dry cake and poor experience..table service would make it a better experience at least

Not only are your cakes fantastic and got us through lockdown with something to look forward to every weekend, but you hosted a lovely wake for my grandfather yesterday. The set up in the room was perfect, it is such a lovely space and the food as usual was wonderful. We are all very grateful and would recommend you to others. Thank you so much.

The cake was absolutely delicious, I will definitely be back soon for more!

The best coffee locally 😍 The cakes are also divine! Wonderberrys is my new favourite!

November 21. The food and service were OK, but the environment was scary - no windows or doors open, condensation running down the windows etc. While the staff were wearing masks and served from behind a screen, they clearly haven't really taken on board Covid precautions. There was seating outside, but I can't recommend the place if you are concerned about infection.

Thank you for providing a lovely festive afternoon tea . We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The marquee was so special with the Christmas decorations and amazing heaters. The afternoon tea was delicious and the service excellent. Little touches were really appreciated - lovely china, linen napkins, non stop tea and even Christmas crackers. All served with smiles.
The sandwiches were lovely, egg, smoked salmon and turkey with trimmings, mini sausage rolls. Scones, cream and jam and the most delightful little mini cakes - salted caramel and pretzel shortbread, chocolate melt in the mouth discs, little doughnuts with Baileys cream filling, carrot cake with frosted icing. Truly scrumptious!

My wife and I have visited Wonderberrys several times and always had a lovely experience. The staff, service, cakes and coffee are all perfect. Would highly reccomend.

Enjoyed a lovely festive tea on the 5th Dec. Despite it being wet and windy the marquee was warm and cosy and nicely decorated. The table was laid with a mix of pretty china but each place setting matched, a nice touch.
The food was lovely there was a full section of dainty sandwiches (crusts off ) and a lovely choice of homemade cakes, and limitless tea.
Staff were lovely and helpful. Overall a lovely afternoon tea and excellent value.

Fairly priced menu offering great home made products, cakes are outstanding.
Locally roasted Mozzo coffee adds a great local touch.
Respect the one-way system and hand cleansing.

Thank you for providing sandwiches and cakes, hot drinks and prosecco yesterday for our Dad's wake.
The food was excellent, the service and professionalism of staff absolutely first class.
I thank you all do very much.

Wonderberrys is now on Swanwick Lane at the Brickworks Museum but after I found it - OMG! The place is gorgeous! A huge selection of amazing cakes and treats. The salted caramel pretzel shortbread was a revelation! And my sandwich was on yummy proper bread. So good! Safety-wise, they have a sensible one system in place, nicely spaced out tables and the staff were wearing masks. And they were SO lovely! Cannot recommend this place highly enough! 5/5

Really enjoyed the festive afternoon tea on the 5th December. The warm marquee with a decorated tree and fairy lights was very cosy. Lovely homemade sandwiches, scones and cakes. Thank you for kicking off the Christmas festivities in style.

My friends and I were booked in for a christmas afternoon tea and feared that it would be cancelled with the lockdown and then the Tier 2, but we were assured that it would all go ahead as planned. And so it came to pass, that a group of 5 friends who hadn't seen each other for a while, spent a lovely afternoon on a cold rainy day, in a warm and festive marquee, eating beautiful cakes and drinking tea. The event was perfect and the salted caramel pretzel shortbread was a triumph! Thanks for a lovely afternoon

Millionaires cookie dough. Quite possibly the best thing I have put in my mouth in years. They make great flat white too.
