Reviews of Aynsley Tearoom

Friendly staff, quite busy on a sunny Saturday . Sausage roll nice and hot .Reasonable prices . Like the dog biscuit box .Toilet inside .Great to have a little cafe in Longton Park.
B. B.
Very nice cafe inside Longton Park, very friendly staff, all volunteers and catering students. Dogs are welcomed with water and a biscuit treat! Very reasonable prices, I always have a cafetiere coffee and oatcake before going for a walk around the park. For those that don't know where it is, it's the building just behind the bandstand
G. H.
It's what you expect from a cafe in a park. Staff were very polite and helpful. Limited choice for a Saturday in the sun though.

Amazing food and lovely chap who served me 😀
R. U.
This is a great and unfortunately underrated park. There is plenty of space to stroll around or take your dog for a walk, a park area for children, multi use games areas, large fields for ball games and even a skate area if that takes your fancy. No matter the season it is always an enjoyable time out.
P. G.
Longton Park. The best kept park in Stoke on Trent, always a nice walk. Two lakes, play area, keep fit, football fields, skate/bmx park, small tea room. Aynsley tearoom situated near bandstand.
A. E.
The drinks are fine and so are the prices it's only let down is not enough advertising to say it's open and in the park the amount of reps and wagon drivers that would go there for the break from car or lorry and a fresh look out side unless you don't want it to be too busy but excellent in my eyes and the wife says the same well done lovely clean friendly tea room
T. P.
The Aynsley tea room is a nice addition to this lovely park, stopped off there for a coffee yesterday , it is a nice clean place , friendly staff.
I plan to return in summer when I am over visiting family and friends again , want to try a breakfast.
M. L.
Lovely park, my favourite one ever :) Great place to take your kids and dogs. Perfect for relaxing.

Longton Park AKA Queen's Park AKA Victoria Park. As the name suggests is a victorian designed park. With mahoosive mature trees with a raised path on the far side and large swathes of grass. Tennis courts, fishing, playgrounds, specimen trees & shrubs, beautiful seasonal planting schemes, wide open spaces for letting off steam, waterfalls between ponds, small skateboard area. Now has a new café next to the bandstand. Not been in it as yet so unsure if it provides new toilets. Has toilets in the building next to the main entrance on Trentham Rd but they're farely nasty and rarely open.
On occasion cows escape from the neighbouring fields.
Popular place for dog walking and families. During the Summer it holds fairground and other events.
This is the best Park in Stoke-on-Trent!
P. B.
Haven't been for a few weeks but still as good as usual. Staff wonderful, food great, price very affordable.
S. H. C.

C. I.

j. w.
Great park lots of squirrels and ducks to feed nice playground lovely lake clean and litter free
M. D.
Nice open place to walk and take kids. Large areas for games and ducks to feed.
S. T.
Not able to sit in due to covid but tables outside were clean with hand sanitizers on. Nice snacks make a lunch. Sausage rolls, oatcakes and food boxes to take away to eat on your own picnic spot if you wanted to. Friendly place. Nice to see a park with these facilities so well done and I noticed that the staff were joined by young people from different organisations to gain some work experience so again a massive thumbs up 👍😀
T. W.
Lovely park and well kept. Great park for the kids to play to separate play areas for older and younger kids. Nice walk around the lake did notice a cafeteria didnt use it mind. Lots of areas to bring a picnic. Theres plenty of parking outside the park but on a nice day very hard to find a space as you'd expect but there are lots of side streets.
D. L. W.
Lot's of interesting fun and educational activities to engage the minds of young and old
D. B.
Such a nice park to walk around .
M. T.

One of the most beautiful parks I've been to.
I enjoy the wildlife and the wide variety of trees from around the world..
This is a Victorian park.
This is a very well maintained park great for taking children for a walk unlike a lot of parks there is no dog muck that I've seen on the occasions I've been. Which is credit to the dog owners that frequent here..
And there's lots of wheel chair friendly pathways so it can look varied and new every time you visit by simply taking a different route.
It's also equipped with an safe modern playground a small football pitch.
There's 2 tennis courts 2 basketball courts.
Also skate park
And a visitor center under construction where you will be able to purchase refreshments and I presume snacks.
All in all its got everything that you would want in a town park and in my opinion is an absolute credit to stoke.
The lay out and planting and maintaince of this place is superb and many friendly people that often say hello.
In short if you are looking for something to do to lift your mood give the kids something of a day out walk your dog..watch wildlife at work.
Longton park I the place to go.
Among the other parks in stoke.
Highly recommended
S. I.
Lovely big park, love the wildlife especially squirrels as well
H. s.
Took the kids fishing. They loved it. Free parking on the road. Can be very busy at times. Nice play park. Small scooter park. Toilets not the best. Tennis courts and table tennis if you take your own rackets etc.
S. L.
Beautiful place summer or winter. The trees here are amazing, the lakes can be fished with a licence and are full of wildlife. The squirrels love to be fed monkey nuts, they'll come quite close if your patient and quiet. There is a play park for the children and there are toilets, not wonderful toilets but if your desperate they'll do.
L. B.
I always come here when I stay at parents. Lovely walks and safe space for the dog. Plenty of room to run and throw a ball.
Football, basketball and tennis courts available
Gardens are well looked after all year round
R. J.
This park is great for the family. Very large open spaces for kicking a football or other such games. There is a large play area and separate gated play area for the little ones. It's very scenic with its very well kept lawns and pruned trees and hedges. Opportunities to feed the ducks and the squirrels if they're not too scared. Great for relaxing if on your own, or doing some keep fit. Occasionally an ice cream will park itself near one of the entrances. Do go the toilet though before you get there as difficult to find an open toilet.
d. w.
My family likes to walk around every week
P. E.
Fantastic park great for a long walk, lots of trees and flowers. Huge pond with ducks etc. The park is quite modern but can get really busy and a hot day. The park also has basketball courts and an exercise area. My kids love visiting so they can feed the squirrels so don't forget your monkey nuts
e. a.
What a lovely little cafe. The volunteers are so kind and caring, taking time to clean properly with max ppe after every customer. I often visit to sit and think its so quiet. My favourites from the menu are the ham bap and rocky road 😍
A. C.
Lovely expansive park with plenty of footpaths and grass areas to walk your dog or play sport as well as play areas for children and big kids at heart. The squirrels will come and eat of your hand. There are also 2 lakes with a variety of ducks and geese. Only thing missing is a cafe
A. H.
Discovered this park and wondered why I'd never been before. The walks around the ponds and play areas were clearly laid out thoughtfully many years ago. The play areas are clean and well maintained and I didn't see any litter anywhere.
The people of Longton should treasure this park as it's a real hidden gem in the city.
A. S.
I reckon this place would be nicer in the summer.
Lush greenery. A few ponds. Some wildlife - kingfisher, geese and swans.
Do not forget to take some peanuts for the squirrels. They'll come hopping to you keenly expecting to be fed and they are cute.
Definitely worth a revisit.
T. H.
Love the park, a little something for all. Children's play group. Green space and pathways. Great for walking you dog or a bike ride and now has a cafe..
m. w.
Lovely place to grab a cuppa and a snack. Be patient and understanding of the volunteers who are being taught life skills. Beautiful service, pet friendly.
S. B.
This park is wrongly named. It is actually called Queens Park. A beautiful park thats mostly unchanged. Its well kept, accessible to all and my grandsons favourite park to go to. Children love the swing, slides and other rides. Good to walk the dog and play games. It has a tennis court and bowling greens.
I wish the bandstand had real bands in it.
Please take a walk and just enjoy the scenery.
S. T.
Love it here. Space for 5yo to ride his bike, play on the playground and skate ramps. There's exercise equipment and sports facilities. Toilets and an ice cream van. Great to see the paths being renovated too as hey were previously quite uneven with lots of tree roots.
J. C.
A beautiful park all year round. The play area is great my grandson loves it. We always meet someone to say hello too. We have been to many of the events here and had great fun .
S. H.
Lovely park, can even have a walk round and it's really beautiful. The playground itself does really need expanding or developing more now. It gets very busy and I feel there isn't much there.
h. S.
Perfect place to walk the dog or take the children to feed the ducks. They also hold loads of events here suitable for the whole family. Great for joggfra or bike rides and picnics. A play park at the top end and next to that a tennis court!
S. D.
Lovely paved park with shrubs, flowers, ponds, play equipment and even a half pipe. Toilets were locked on Sunday when we went. I really hope councils can continue the upkeep of such vital community green spaces.
R. W.
Fantastic park for all the family from kids that like to use the skatepark, the outdoor gym, the table tennis areas, the tennis/basketball/football courts to the toddler area and bigger kids parks. The lovely pinds to feed the ducks ir a spot of fishing and a nice drink or a little food in the cafe.
l. s.
Its beautiful and there lots of play area.
For young and old .
J. T.
Best park in Stoke on Trent. The lower section with lake and gardens are really well kept. Great for picnics with children. Lots of space for games, good fenced play area for tiny tots.
k.
Its a beautiful park. The only Issues i have with the park are people should clean up after there dogs foul which most people DONT also i think theres to much destruction that goes on there regarding cutting doen trees that i see as unnecessary and ruin the area.
And finally people dogs not on leads running wild chasing after the ducks/ squirrels. AND people who go there HUNTING the squirrels with dogs for entertainment.
m. l.
Longton Park is,in my opinion, the nicest park in Stoke on Trent. The grounds are very well maintained, lovely flower beds, well trimmed bushes, majestic trees, two lakes, a good playground for the children and plenty of open spaces and squirrels, squirrels and squirrels.
C. C.
Lovely park, but why has it taken so long for the cafe to be completed? Understand opening at half term. Could have built a housing estate in the time it has taken to complete. Pity the summer business missed😕
J. W.
Looked after and lovely to walk around. However, please maintain the paths as some are breaking up and need resurfacing: not good for people with disabilities.
J. W.
I love the local park, its not got the facilities it had when i was a child but vandals have seen to that along with safety issues re rowong etc on the lake. Sad but its lovely to walk and meet people
E. B.
Great park, lots to do! Play equipment, exercise park, table tennis, tennis courts, basket ball courts, a band stand, a lake, scooter/ skateboard ramps, paths, trees, benches, squirrels, birds. Lots of parking on the roads outside. Ice cream van in the summer.
C. W.
Lovely place to see and spend time
G. O.
Lovely park. Huge grounds to walk around. Great play area for kids. They are re-tarmacing the paths which needs doing so that's great
M. F.
A beautiful park with lovely walks around the lake which has a variety of ducks. The children's play areas are excellent.
C. H.
Nice park. There is a play area, fitness machine area, a kiosk and cafe selling snacks and drinks. In summer it is especially nice. Lots of good walks.
N. B.
Of all the parklands in this confederate city, this is, in my humble opinion, the finest. Not only is there no shortage of space, but much in the way of contrasting focal points, flora, and facilities. Those who originally granted this space to the public of Stoke on Trent, certainly did much to consider the welfare and needs of everyday folk, and many decades since, this is a benevolent provision for all who visit.
For what it is worth, it might not have escaped your notice that there appear to be at least two separate listings for Longton (or, as some of my fellow reviewers note, as it used to be styled- Queen's) Park. I have never attempted to utilise the toileting facilities- from what others seem to indicate, this may well be a conspicuous blot on an otherwise extremely pleasant spot.
V. B.
Nice to have somewhere to get a drink and a snack while at the park
S. S.
Absolutely stunning park
Beautifully maintained and enjoyed by families, the elderly and children alike
I will attach photos!

K. G.
Nice park to vist. There are playing areas toilets available parking is outside of the park it's self some times there are events on in the park . In half term there was a train ride for the children..x
M. S.
We love taking our grandchildren to this park.
The one thing we see more and more of is the rubbish laying around.also dog poo all over the path.
J. S.
Beautiful planting schemes, lake ponds, swans, waterfall, playgrounds, small skate park, specimen trees, ridge pathway, large open green space for children & dogs to let off steam, bandstand. Needs a café & beware of stray cows from the neighbouring fields taking a stroll too
G. S.

H. L.

E. W.
What a little gem, beautiful location, helpful and hard working staff and great food.
m. f.
It's a good size park with decent equipment and areas. It's let down by the brave rats that are mainly near the lake sides.
S. W.
Love love love this place, it's maintained beautifully, however I get scared at the sheer number of people allowing their dogs to run around off their leads.
S. a. 1.
Pretty park with a couple of very picturesque ponds.
Plenty activities and play park is well equipped. The toilets do let it down though.
K. P.
Great Park, clean tidy and well presented, good to walk around. It has areas for football, tennis basketball, a small gym, fishing, picnic areas.
