Reviews of Darkroom Espresso
I love this coffee shop. A very pleasant place to spend an hour or two at the weekend whether you’re alone with a book or with company. They always have interesting coffee which is unrivalled in quality and the staff are super friendly.
Best dirty chai latte in town 😊 having a short stay in Swindon, visited on my first day and had to stop by again before I leave cause I'll be missing this place! Love the ambience and very lovely staff. Free WiFi too so what is not to love about this place.
Best coffee I've encountered in Swindon so far. Puddings are also good. Reasonable price to compare with other cafés but higher quality. Cozy, quiet, and staff are friendly but not over friendly which is nice.
Very welcoming staff and a truly community vibe - some next level geekiness on the coffee to water ratios advice being dispensed (overheard in conversation)... Also delicious coffee and locally sourced baked goods. They know their stuff and they genuinely care about their customers as friends.
I had one hour to wait in Swindon between two trains and the station staff kindly let me get out of the station for a coffee. I asked where to go and the staff told me me to go to the Costa Café right next to the station as « the centre wasn’t worth the stroll ». This comment raised my curiosity to see by myself and also, Costa Café… come on 🙄
The centre is very quiet indeed, most shops are closed, windows are dusty, streets are empty. If Swindon was by the sea-side, this would almost give it some sort of meditative and melancholic charm but in the mainland, the effect is a bit depressing.
I kept walking and luckily came by Darkroom Espresso. The seats are comfortable, there’s a relaxed vibe with plants and mismatched furniture. People know each other. The staff is chilled and nice. I had a very good filter coffee and a delicious carrot cake.
I will definitely go if I happen to pass by Swindon again!! The highlight of my hour in this city.
Have just started coming back to this place. Feels like coming home! I love how they are as snobby about tea as they are about coffee. Also that the atmosphere is so relaxed and I feel comfortable sitting here for ages.
Good coffee and loads of vegan options. I love the toasties and they have such a big variety of vegan cakes :)
The best coffee in Wiltshire. Nice folk too. (Council take note.)
Great coffee, great food, great atmosphere and great food. We visit regular and the service is always impeccable.
