Reviews of The Tile Press Café
D. I.
I don't write reviews very often, but this is an exception. I am a regular customer at the Tile Press Café and have always been treated to a 5 star experience. The staff are super helpful, friendly and kind. The food and drink are served quickly and the quality is always exceptional. Definitely value for money. We have tried both the breakfast and lunch menus and were not disappointed, definitely a 5 ⭐, would highly recommend visiting.

Lovely setting and great coffee. Staff were helpful and friendly. My mother tried to order avocado and egg on toast, when told they didn't have any avos she asked if she could just have the egg on toast. The chef was happy to do this but the manager became quite condescending and began to explain how extensive their menu is and that they would deviate this once but it wouldn't be done again. When in reality it wasn't my mother's fault that they didn't have any avocado.
However, once the manager left we were made to feel very welcome especially while I nursed my baby which put us at ease and we enjoyed the rest of our brunch.

We had a lovely lunch at The Tile Press Cafe after visiting Maws Craft Centre. Cafe staff very friendly & attentive. Food tasted very fresh. I had the tuna melt panini, hubby had cheese & ham sandwich & a sausage roll. Food came with coleslaw & salad & was served with a smile. We particularly enjoyed the music playing in the background too. A nice ambience.

Really nice experience and we’ll be back again soon to sample more of the menu

Despite us arriving when they were the busiest they have been this year, we were served quickly and the food came pretty quickly too. Lovely place, really good food, reasonable price (£6 for a fantastic pasty and a large Latte, reasonable in my book😋)and good service. They were even happy to come and chat once the mayhem had subsided, heartily recommend

It's the first time we had been to the Tile Press, we had a very tasty breakfast Mr C had the breakfast and I had the vegetarian option. Great venue, staff and service. We will be returning. Thank you Tile Press.

Decent cafe within the Maws Craft Centre. The setting and feel of the place is really great. There are plenty of seating both inside and out. We tried the quiche and mushroom snacks which were both fine and also had some cakes. The service and quality of the food is better than 3 stars, but as they didn’t have one sandwich on the menu made is more of a tea and cake place really which I think is missing a trick. Defo 4 stars though if you’re walking through and need a cuppa and a slice of cake.

Kids meal was great kept them happy! And the ploughman's had such a good amount of cheese. I just felt staff were unhelpful and unhappy

Fabulous cafe located in the Maws Craft Centre, refurbished and re-opened in January 2019. A great selection of food made by the exceptionally talented Jess and her team, welcoming dig friendly atmosphere and a perfect coffee, what more could you ask for! Checkout the artwork from local talent on the walls, and visit the craft businesses in the rest of the centre while your there.

Really long wait for breakfast but the quality was excellent when it finally arrived.
Afternoon tea was average and when we ordered another drink the lady came with the card machine and asked us to pay, she could have waited until we had finished eating.

Lovely staff. Plenty of options (including vegetarians) really nice food in massive portions. Pretty. Reasonable disabled access though the courtyard floor is a bit cracked and the ramp in is a little steep, but short enough. Absolutely great.

Popped in the weekend before last and was very pleasantly surprised. Wonderful atmosphere, great menu and variety. We had the bruschetta it was huge! So big I had to have the remainder boxed to take home (certainly wasn’t going to leave it!). Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were having problems with their WiFi but still kept cheerful. Will definitely be going back.

We had a gorgeous Sunday brunch here with our little one. It felt really safe with the Covid measures. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the staff were wonderful. Really accommodating and found a gorgeous table with big comfy chairs. Super breastfeeding friendly too. Thank you for such a lovely experience.

Really impressed with the new menu, staff and new look. The lady making the food orders was very accomodating and made a vegan dish tailored to what I fancied. It was refreshing to see some nice vegan options and my food was very well executed and the lady's service was excellent. My parents had some of the cake and said how lovely it was, and the coffee was great too. Really really pleased to see the cafe having a good quality offering with keen staff. I have been visiting Maws Craft Centre for years and this is the best I have seen it. Whoever is now in charge has really turned things around and I will definitely be back. Thanks for being so welcoming and friendly!

Well we had a about a half hour wait simply because it was a Saturday and they were busy. But the food was well worth the wait delicious .Friendly staff dog friendly and in the beautiful surroundings of the historic Maws Craft Centre .

Visited this cafe twice in February the first time the person serving was more interested in talking to her friends than serving us on the plus side the cheese scones were good. Visited again on Sunday with some friends the girl who took our order got 2 coffees right out of four they seemed to be more concerned with the fact they had only charged us for three than putting it right. We were quite happy to pay when we realized but not impressed with their attitude or the fact we ended up with our coffee in relays. Shame as again the cheese scones were good.
Thank you very much for your response we hope to see you soon

New management
We are loving the changes made these last few weeks. The range of Tea Pigs is just as big as before but you can now buy yorkshire tea too. The cakes are delightful as ever and clearly homemade. A great afternoon

My friend Bridget and myself were treated to afternoon tea by my husband.
We had a very pleasant afternoon and the food was really good. Most of it is home made and tastes delicious. There was plenty to eat and we took food home with us. I can certainly recommend the afternoon tea. The most impressive one we've had in Telford. Well done and many thank to the staff. The coffe was very nice too. We are going to treat our friends with vouchers for an afternoon tea for his birthday.

Wonderful cafe, delicious food. Beautiful surroundings. Always worth a visit.

Came for afternoon tea on Friday afternoon. It was empty upstairs so we had the place to ourselves. With a newborn it was just the perfect environment to relax and enjoy the afternoon tea. The food was amazing, i would definitely ask to try to chilli jam and a baileys hot chocolate. Excellent service, the staff helped me carry the cot up and down the stairs. I would definitely come back to try the main menu. We couldn't finish the afternoon tea so boxed up to take home 😁
