Absolutely amazing hot chocolates and cakes! Really lovely staff!

The cakes are made off site and supplied by other independents. The coffee, well, where to begin…. I drove 20 miles for one yesterday, cause quit simply I believed to be the best in Cornwall! There I said it, prove me wrong…. Also the staff are lovely and knowledgeable about the coffee and want to provide a great service.

Katie at The Old Cheese Shop put together an incredible hamper for me of Cornish products selected from the brilliant brochure they have available. Living outside of Cornwall now, she made everything really simple. From communication right through to delivery, the service was impeccable. Would very much recommend to anyone looking for gift ideas in Cornwall for those special occasions. Thank you, Katie!

The Old Cheese Shop is my local coffee place. Depending on the weather, I have a hot coffee and wonderful fresh baked treat, or one of many icy coffee and fruit drinks. The crew are helpful and patient - I can never choose right away! They innovated a doorway ordering system that works very well. I enjoy taking my coffee down to the nearby park, or back up the hill home, and look forward to a peaceful sip in the sunny shop again. Beyond the excellent quality of everything on offer is the support for Cornish products - everything is made in Cornwall.

Katie's welcoming smile, delicious cakes and Barista skills make a visit to the best coffee shop in Truro a real pleasure.

The first time I went here was during the pandemic for a Sunday coffee before catching the train. We were overwhelmed by how friendly the staff was. They do a meal deal ( coffee and pastry) for £5. They also do cornish coffee.
Went here later after things became a bit more normal and got a pork and apple sandwich. It was delicious 😋. There was someone else working here but they were just as friendly.
If you are ever in Truro station and need a caffeine dose I would recommend going down the hill for about 7 mins to the old cheese shop.

A great little coffee shop with a big heart. The staff are always friendly and ready for a chat; they really make you feel like one of the family.
The coffee is is the best in town, and their pastries are all locally sourced. Their gluten free pastries are fantastic, proving that GF cakes and pastries can be more than just the usual token brownies you get in most places.
Although seating is limited it is always worth trying to find a space as the tables all have books on Cornish culture and Truro town history for the interested visitor to read as they enjoy their coffee and cake.

Lovely coffees and teas. Snacks, pastries and a few cold beverages. It's a small shop with limited seating. If you're walking from the rail station into town it's the perfect place to stop for a break. The owners were careful to recycle or reuse as much as possible in the decor. Really very charming shop.
