M. D.Sadly this place seems to have gone downhill lately. The lovely team of ladies who ran it previously have moved on to other jobs and there now seems to be no structure to the staff. Service is very often slow and often no one knows what they are doing. Staff often seem uninterested in helping people and look and sound as if they would rather be elsewhere.
Previously you would often get a friendly smile and welcome with staff asking how you were. Not now. Service is quite often slow and staff are often standing chatting even if you are waiting for service, and sometimes when they're supposed to be doing your order.
They obviously don't have any tea towels as you will often get presented with a soaking wet tray which has not been dried. If you don't want a wet table make sure you check your tray and if wet insist they dry it thoroughly.
There are some staff here who are better than others and always have a welcoming attitude. Sadly you don't see the best staff that often as every day it seems different people are there. Also the number of tables has decreased for some unknown reason.
Coffee is still really good though and prices are the same. There are also still plenty of good pastries and cakes on offer.
In short it's still a nice place for good coffee, but service does need improving. In the past staff would know all regular customers on sight, but now they change so much too fast no one seems to be there long enough to know regular customers. Worth going to but sometimes it's worth it more than others.
B. V.Very good coffee and great variety of muffins. We ordered a wakey wakey breakfast that looked really good in the pictures but we're given a bun with some bacon and told that's what it was. That was disappointing but the muffins are really good.
C. J.Plenty of seating but I had to share my table with the last customers dirty mugs...it was cleared away by the nice young lady who brought my drink to me. Staff very pleasant and helpful. The floor was was quickly swept and the cake belonging to the customer who's mugs had to be moved.
