Reviews of GoodRoots

A lovely spot for breakfast and brunch in Worcester.
Good roots has a nice casual vibe that is perfect after a walk along the Riverside.
It took a while for staff to come and take our order outside, but they were very busy. The staff were friendly and professional at all times.
Once our order was placed our drinks and food came out swiftly and were excellent. The coffee is second to none.
Chicken and waffles may not seem like a popular choice for us brits but I can assure you they were delightful. The waffles were light and fluffy and the chicken was succulent. My friend had the veggie brunch and it looked so damn good.
I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Just dropped in for a pitstop with friends. We had a warm welcome and the cakes looked fantastic, well worth investigating next time. We sat outside but the interior is pretty cool with some great lights and comfy vibe. The flat white coffee I had was perfect and I'll definitely visit again to try some food.

What a find! Based at the old Porcelain works Worcester.
An independant coffee house. A lovely menu of different items including vegetarian choices. Viewable online.
Friendly staff and a real change from the high street.
Mushroom on toast just divine.
So many cakes to choose from.

Great Food, Lovely staff. Dog friendly, Baby friendly. My only teeny tiny criticism is the squeech of the chairs on the floor when pulled forward and backwards, once you hear it it's all you focus on perhaps pads on the chair feet to stop the sound on the tiles)
E. B.
The service was warm and friendly, the setting beautiful and the food was delicious. I really enjoyed the coffee too, and my dog loved the dog ice cream. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Omg, very cool very stylish place. Food and the service was excellent.
Interior on point. 100% I would go back

Enjoyed brunch so much I went twice in a week. Dog friendly. Really appreciate being able to help yourself to tap water. Food is well presented and tasty. Handy queuing system if they are busy that sends you a text. My new top place in Worcester. Slightly disappointing Rocky Road was the only wrinkle so far.

Blink and you'll miss it in the back streets of Worcester but what an incredible place. Deceivingly big inside. A modern urban look. The food was amazing with some quirky combinations and friendly polite staff. Well worth a visit.
S.
Nice contemporary, large cafe.
I really enjoyed my food and loose leaf Earl Grey tea.
Loved my fries with truffle oil! Scrumptious.
The staff were friendly and efficient.
Well worth a visit@

A small way off from the city centre is this little gem. Well worth it, and beautiful food! I had the prettiest bowl of porridge and it was delicious.
T. P.
Food was great, very busy but also very prompt table service. Staff were polite and professional. Very accommodating. Kids loved it too.

Popped in for brunch. We hadn't booked so just hoped on the off chance we'd be able to get a table. Luckily we managed to get one and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. We were given an estimated wait time on food before we were seated which managed our expectations well. The menu has a great mix of options and the coffee was delicious. When we left there was a fairly long queue so I'd definitely try to prebook next time (if that's an option). Look forward to our next visit!

Table outside and lovely vibe here. Efficient staff and super well presented food that was nice to eat. Above average for Worcester. Plates etc made from recycled coffee bean husks.
M. S.
Awesome place for lunch. Others have mentioned the time for food to arrive - I'd suggest it's well worth the wait. The Spanish Eggs Benedict was stunning.
L. M.
Lovely place to have lunch, sitting by the river. Good choice, good value, good presentation and good service. Only reason not 5🌟 is I felt veggie flatbread, though delicious, could have done with something to spice it up.
M. D.
My third time here. Good food, coffee and ambience, BUT, service is slow and you feel like a burden. Such a shame, really is:(( You know you’re busy on the weekends, why not plan for it properly, train your staff, be friendly, be efficient. Waiting 45 minutes for a bacon butty is a dealbreaker.
B. K.
We stopped in for brunch and had a splendid meal. A great, varied menu, friendly and attentive staff, and a good ambience. Great spot for a meal in Worcester!
G. B.
Its terrific, good imaginative food, great service, helpful staff, fair prices.
But please turn the volume down on the music system!

Always a lovely visit, dine in or Al fresco.
You can also see the art on display in the foyer of the arts centre there en route to the toilets.

This was our first visit - it won't be the last. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our guests, who were already seated. Menu was interesting with some different options. Service was excellent. Food was superbly presented and we were all served together - not easy when a number of poached eggs were ordered. Everyone was impressed with their choices and also positively commented on others'. Genuinely dog friendly as demonstrated by the number of canines enjoying their menu choices. Our Labrador loved his sausage and scrambled egg. Totally recommended.
S. K.
Excellent lunch and cakes and coffee were just amazing. Lovely taste. Very fresh. Plenty if vegan options if you choose/ need milk free alternatives. Oat milk available on tap.

Roots is a gem set in the old Worcester Porcelain grounds at the southern end of the town. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the food is good. Enjoy 😊.
If you like history, the museum across from the restaurant is interesting. Even more historically, the building sits just outside (what used to be) the medieval City Wall and Frog Gate, (sadly no longer there) using the same footprint, at this southern end of the town, the Roman's used to build their wall in 50 AD, along the line of Severn Street where Frog Brook used to run.

Managed to sneak in a trip to GoodRoots following some easing of lockdown restrictions. They are very well set up for social distancing and have got some outdoor furniture set up for use.
As always I enjoyed the coffee very much and the slice of chocolate fudge cake was very good. There are loads of deli items sourced from local producers, looking forward to my next trip.
P. E.
Good food. Good service. Lovely location. Well worth a visit
M. E.
Happy friendly staff in comfortable surroundings

Amazing!!!!! I come here all the time and love the food and atmosphere!
Waffles are to die for
D. S.
Lovely food, signs / staff not clear on how to get a seat and order when you're going 1st time. But once you just force yourself on them all goes well.
s. r.
Lovely food, friendly staff who were very attentive, you have to pay upfront when ordering but that's fine.
A. A.
Busy restaurant with a great vibe, serving great coffee.
Table service from friendly helpful staff, with an original menu, and great coffee!
Covid compliant, feeling secure and cleaning all surfaces before and after use.
P. W.
Went straight here from the Museum. A most excellent eggs benedict for light lunch. Food is very good, great atmosphere, but maybe turn the music down a little, eh? If management could find the right staff then some more branches would do everyone a favour.
E. J.
Good coffee and food/cake options. Nice atmosphere - pleasant to work in early morning
H. K.
Convivial coffee shop with plenty outdoor seating. The food served is very good and generous portions. The fruit toast is very thick cut and served with butter and jam or marmalade and is highly recommended. It's not the cheapest place in town, but the prices are good for the quality and portion size. It always seems to be pretty busy.
There is a one way system through the cafe that is still used and when I was there a couple of weeks ago, all the doors were open which allowed for good airflow. The tables are also not crammed together. Recommended.
T. T.
Great service and delicious food (and a lovely doggy menu). It’s seems to always be busy which is a good sign that they are doing things right. No complaints here.
D. F.
Lovely staff who were happy to chat and advise, cracking menu, wished we lived nearer
M. A.
Stunning food. Great atmosphere. Had the Spanish beef brisket eggs royal. I'll say it again, stunning.
C. E.
Been to GoodRoots a couple of times. Always really busy and popular. Food is good although the skillets breakfasts are served on are more aesthetic than functional. Best dish for me are the waffles which are generously served and delicious.
Star lost due to being completely overlooked today whilst waiting for a table. I was first in line and a couple came in after me. The waiting staff went straight to them ignoring me completely even though I’d been standing there for several minutes patiently waiting. This made me feel that single travellers are less valued than couples and groups. Not sure the great food can entice me back again.
T. B.
The food and coffee were really nice, and there is plenty of outdoor seating. However none of the staff were wearing masks and got very close to us, leaning right across me to place our plates onto the table. This made the experience of eating here much less enjoyable, if it had felt more safe I would have given 5 stars.
C. J.
Probably my favourite place for brunch in Worcester and the coffee is great too. I try to come on weekdays as weekends and bank holidays are so busy.
C. B.
Good tea. Good toasties. Good service. Was a bit of plastic in the salad, which was odd. I'm sure just a freak occurrence.
N. G.
What an amazing discovery this was.

Definitely going to be a regular here

A real find. Friendly staff, spacious with a nice atmosphere, and the food was amazing. A slight twist from the normal but so tasty. A real treat and I look forward to next time.

This cafe adds width to the cities offering.
Fantastically well run, with passionate owners / managers and staff.
Coffee is great, served like no other currently in the city.
Food is tasty, Cuban eggs my favourite.
Such a good place to aim for when beginning or ending a walk around the river!
Keep it up!

This is one of my favourite cafes in Worcester. They do amazing coffee and sell the best sourdough bread.
I've stopped off for lunch here with a friend and the food has been great. It's always an excellent service and warm welcome.
Plus they have great vegan options!
E. C.
My favourite cafe in Worcester. Since lockdown they have taken their safety of customers extremely seriously. As they are limited on space inside they have always been accommodating when I have asked for an inside table. The staff are so lovely and the food/coffee is amazing. There is also a great baby changing facility 😊
C. D.
A busy lunchtime. We were informed, as we took our seats, that there could be a wait. Worth the wait though - food was excellent!
I. H.
Found this place when invited for a working breakfast. Returned because the food was so good. It was today as well
M. B.
Great place to grab some lovely food and drink, especially as it's located in a fabulous little courtyard - not far from the river! Lovely clean facilities, great service and I highly recommend the hot chocolate! Brilliant place to meet up with friends for al fresco treats and a chat!
C. S.
My mum and her friend were given free cake and coffee today when the waiter heard that my
Mums friend had just been given the all clear from cancer. Thank you so much for such a kind gesture that just put the icing on the cake so to speak. Excellent service as always.
Z. H.
Excellent food, friendly and efficient service on a busy Sunday lunchtime. We were a group of 7 ranging widely in age and taste: every one of us found something good to eat and we'll definitely be back. The vegan and gluten free options are excellent; but there's plenty for the more traditional palate too. Thank you
S. G.
Only been once but the staff were friendly. Service was quick. Had an iced vanilla latte but will be going back as the food looked lovely :)
P. B.
Fast friendly service. Highly recommended, especially as it is dof friendly
S. R.
Just having breakfast at Good Roots in Worcester. It has to be the best breakfast I have had in years. Everything was hot and fresh. The poached eggs were amazing. And there were two of them. Lovely. The toast was sourdough and really good. I will be coming again. 😊. And bringing our visitors.
S. W.
Delicious coffee, really friendly staff and great interior
G. R.
Lively place, wide selection of food and drinks. Had to queue for a while for tables to be cleared though.
S. M.
Excellent food and coffee in a family friendly environment. Loving the new look and comfy seating. Having smaller tables are so much more practical. Great to see GoodRoots so busy on Sunday morning.

Fantastic sandwich.. 😁 Great service. Plenty of space and a very relaxed atmosphere. Coffee was excellent too, served in eco friendly mugs made from the outer shell of coffee pods I think 🤔. Well worth a visit. Enjoy
S. S.

I went after only a few days of them opening and it already looked amazing. The coffee was amazing, the food was amazing and the service was also very good. Thoroughly looking forward to going again and seeing how they transform this excellent space.

Incredibly slow service, it took 20 minutes to get a coffee that wasn't even very nice. I highly recommend oatly batista milk, it doesn't leave a strange after taste.

Super jídlo, milá obsluha a hezké prostředí ❤️

(Translated) I ordered a Red Peanut Curry Bowl, the rice was so hard it cracked under my teeth. I like the vegetables to be crispy and not cooked, but then I don't like to eat the woody broccoli. The chicken breast is very crumbly, juicy - it’s the most ingenious in its food. - It was completely cold, I can warm up, that's not it, but it's. Not bad, but not the best.
(Original)
