Had a really nice evening on Friday, 28th January 2022 - listening to live music and eating pizza. The food was excellent - Gluten free no problem even Gluten free beer a bonus. Staff really lovely, nothing too much trouble. Wish them the best with their music evenings.

What a charming place to catch up with friends. The staff member serving was so sweet and you could see she had real camaraderie with the regulars. Friendly folk making tasty coffee in a good location, just a little outside of York. Sitting outside is nice and a good people watching spot if you can ignore some of the louder vehicles on the road. Great to have options for milk alternatives, such as oat or coconut. On our last visit, we took the suggestion of the owner to try coconut milk in our drinks and it was an excellent recommendation. Though we’d usually have oat they’d just run out and we were happy to have the alternative.

Had some lovely pizza, the staff were nice, and there's a park right in front for a nice view. I'll probably go there again to try their cake! (they have veggie food but if you're vegan all their veggie food has cheese so probably not the cafe for you)

This is a great little place for coffee with friends or family. At the moment it's outside only or take aways, There is a light menu to be ordered in advance, again due to current circumstances, and fantastic ice-creams have been added to the menu this spring. Easy to find half way up East Parade in Heworth and opposite the bowling greens, hence the name. Please try the place, I believe you will really appreciate the efforts by Bean on the Green to make you feel welcome.

Amazing service! Staff were quick and friendly and really nice tasting coffee. The tables were maybe a little cramped but would love to go again, especially when indoor seating opens up again.

Fab place - my 8 year old had a pizza party there - the lovely Bea and Sally were amazing (7 and 8 year old boys can be a tad noisy!) The children decorated their own plates and pizzas and they tasted amazing and all the children had a great time. My 8 year old said it was great 😊 For those not wanting a party the star of the show was the mango and lime cake - this is the best cake I think I've ever had 😊 (but all the other cakes looked pretty good!) Looking forward to my next visit for pizza and cake

This is a comfortable cafe with nice views and great staff. We stayed long enough to have breakfast sandwiches and then a cake each. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was tasty. There is a lovely playroom in the back of the cafe so you know it is family friendly

Visited here with hubby, son and baby last Saturday lunch time. The staff were friendly and fully able to accommodate my toddlers cow's milk allergy. The food was tasty, atmosphere is relaxed and there's a great play area with toys at the back. We'll be visiting again.

Cafe quite trendy, relaxed and unpretentious. Serves lovely selections of veggie and meat wraps, salads, baked potato. Also delightful breakfasts. Staff welcoming, prices reasonable. They do evening meals on selected days.

Best pizza this side of Italy and I'm not kidding. Hand stretched stone baked pizza with just the right amount of cheese. Recommend the sourdough cinnamon donuts and the chocolate sauce that comes with them!

Absolutely love this place. But today we tried the brunch of champions. Disappointed. Expected something walm. But no. All was clap cold. Bread, avocado ,chorizo. And even the poached egg. £6.95. hmmm!. If we didn't like Bean on the Green so much . anywhere else would have complained instead put it down to experience.
