Lovely place! I wanted to try their cinnamon buns because they looked incredible in the shop window, but they only make them on certain days of the week. They suggested that I tried a croissant; they said it was an Italian recipe, with less butter and sugar but actually sweeter than the usual ones. It was absolutely delicious!! Really light and sweet. Great place for a nice breakfast or sweet treat, and not expensive at all. Thank you!

The service and staff here are just wonderful, the coffee's and teas are lovely and the food is super fresh. I've eaten both from the lunch menu and the desserts here and I am super impressed with both. Offers vegan, veggie and gluten free options too highly recommend a visit and sit in their sunny courtyard if you can!

Since I discovered La Botega I can't just walk by! Not only the service is super quick (it felt like I got my drink within seconds) but the coffee is delicious. I had buffalo mozzarella and tomato sourdough as well which was very refreshing. The star of the show is definitely a Vienesse biscuit that I had few times already-it is truly mouthwatering. Lastly,their courtyard is a nice escape from the busy city centre. Would 100% recommend La Botega to anyone!

This was my 1st visit to this coffee shop here in York,Received a very special warm welcome from possibly the lady owner,who gave a very informative tour of all the cakes available to have with a drink .I felt this was a really nice touch & eventually placed an order (tea & bakewell slice ,coffee & lemon meringue)which was taken by another pleasant staff member ,payment can be made by cash or card .The drinks & cakes were lovely & i did mention this .I will definitely do a return visit again ,then iwas given a loyalty drink stamp card .Had a very enjoyable experience & recommend you should visit here wile in York .

Excellent breakfast and coffee. We were drawn in by the bacon focaccia but ended up with poached eggs, both were perfect and runny on tasty soar dough. You should leave room for an Italian doughnut, its worth it. Nice chat with the owner who was full of recommendations for places to eat in York and elsewhere and Italian holiday destinations. Great for breakfast or just a coffee and a chat.

Beautiful little, authentic Italian. We just had the Pannini but both were delicious and they had some really unusual Moretti beers which were lovely too. Food was reasonably priced for York.Lovely little courtyard out back with covered gazebo. Service good and quick and staff lovely.

Nice coffee, nice poached eggs and parma ham, the toast had a fair bit of fennel in which I like, but unfortunately my husband does not but overall he still enjoyed. We live in York and just went for a mooch round to feel like tourists and really enjoyed it.....there's lots of coffee shops to choose from in York and this felt like a nice independent, genuine Italian, spot which we hope will continue to flourish.

What a wonderful place with a warm, friendly staff! The coffee is great and the cakes absolutely delicious. Recently dropped in for breakfast a couple of times too and was not disappointed. As promised by the folks at Little Italy, I found excellent coffee here. I guess you just have to find the Italians. There is a nice window bar for people watching. I had a nice piece of quiche with cheddar and peppers with a double espresso.

I've been there twice now and I highly recommend it. Staff are friendly & warm, service great, coffee and food absolutely delicious! You can even practice your Italian if you so desire.I highly recommend the focaccia with prociutto, cheese and rocket. Nothing like I've had before. The focaccia was soft, and not oily at all. I love this place. The atmosphere is great and the staff are brilliant, very helpful and friendly. The food is so good too, I tend towards the porchetta, but they've got so much choice. Good place to go to brush up on your Italian as well, as most of the staff speak it fluently. Molto molto buono!

La Bottega just started doing food and drink in the evenings with a slightly different menu from daytime, tapas style. We tried a couple of boards and some bruschettas and there was plenty to keep us interested and occupied. Lovely crusty real breads, everything else extremely fresh, and prepared to order. Not many menu items, true, but it's a small independent and each item has plenty of content. (They do a little and do it well, let others do the cheap mass market stuff) We'll definitely be going back there.
