Delightful little place with some amazing cocktails one the menu, great references! We needed somewhere near the theatre and had the recommended, did not disappoint. Staff were really friendly. There is a outdoor steaing area but do note that it is on the main road.

A very pleasant experience to seat outside and bathe in the sun with a refreshment of choice. Surrounded by the local culture and nature of York, literally the castle wall, an amazing chill out experience! Dont miss it, would be the recommendation =)

Stopped off for a quick bite to eat and to do some work! Staff were super friendly, really cosy atmosphere and free Wi-Fi which was a bonus! I opted for a black coffee which was really good quality and also had a vegan cheese and pesto toastie which tasted amazing! Will definitely be coming here again next time I’m in york

Really tasty cinnamon swirls and friendly staff. Great place for a pit stop just outside the city walls and a stone’s throw from the York Art Museum. They also serve beer and wine and put on fun nights (check out their events on their board). Fab spot and ended up visiting 3 times during our stay as it was so welcoming and good.

Absolutely LOVE this place. I hosted an event here + Laura really couldn't do enough to accommodate us and make all our guests feel welcome. Love the decor, BEAUTIFUL coffee and the pastries are the best! I love working from here it's got such a lovely friendly feel! Thank you!!

We were staying in a hotel not far from this place while walking by one of our party fancied a bacon roll so we stopped,got a lovely seat outside.The coffee was lovely,tea came in a nice BIG pot for two and as for the bacon roll,the bacon was nice and thick but easy to eat and was very tasty Worth a visit

A lovely little spot on a busy thoroughfare in York. Delicious coffee, good wholesome snacks, and a gentle, efficient service from nice people. If you get the chance, try the bacon, brie and tomato ciabatta. A huge sandwich, with a huge taste! Well worth a stop for a coffee and nibble if you are passing!

Great decor, friendly atmosphere. Fab choice on the menu. Had brie and bacon chibatta. With proper bacon. Then if you fancy a drink you can get a cocktail or choose a beer from a wide selection. This cafe has it all covered. Well worth a visit.

Such a great (and I think unique for York) offering: a licensed cafe and restaurant that opens until midnight on several nights. Everything is prepared with love and care, from the food to the hot chocolate to the cocktails. A real eye for detail. All of the team are fun and friendly, too. Last but certainty not least, North South is dog friendly!

What an amazing venue, good food good coffee, great tea and even some craft beers for the sharp eyed! The unassuming venue is ideally placed just out of the hustle of the centre of York but within sight of the bar walls. The bacon ciabatta comes highly recommended. Staff are excellent!

Just up Bootham from where I live North South is becoming a real favourite, with baked goods from Haxby baker they make a mean bacon sarnie! They also offer a huge array of beers through and have an ale collection I’m eager to work through!

Came across this place by chance when I was looking for a drink and snack for my grandson. First difficulty for me was the lack of a wheelchair accessible entrance not even a moveable ramp. Why do local authorities give licences to places like this without even checking such basics are in place? No matter, there were outside tables but it was fairly clear they never anticipated anyone in a wheelchair wanting to sit there. I wanted to get my grandson a drink and snack so I plodded on. Good range of drinks. If you're looking for a good coffee. We didn't find the food menu at all appealing. Indeed in the end my grandson had a small slice of cake and I didn't bother at all. The service was good and I'm sure this place would suit other people better than me but I was left rather underwhelmed.

Just stayed in York recently, and came her several times and was the best cafe/bar ever! The bacon cibatta rolls is one of the best things I've ever eaten, pain au chocolat was also delicious exactly like the ones in France! Hot chocolate was the best I've ever had and the coffee was also amazing. and I came for cocktails which was also amazing. Such a shame I live so far away as I'd be here everyday! Will definetley be back and strongly suggest you visit here!!! :D
