Absolutely love the atmosphere in Ruby’s and how friendly the staff are. The food is phenomenal and you can tell the owner works so hard and puts in her all to her wonderful cafe. Will 100% be returning and highly recommend it to anyone else who is looking for a proper coffee and good cake.

Our absolute favourite place to eat in Acomb. Charlotte and the girls give impeccable service. They know everyone and take time to check in. I walked in the other day and they knew my drinks order. Flatbreads are our favourite. It's very small but they're always accomodating of us and our pram. The coffee is really outstanding as are the cakes

Visited for Sunday brunch and Ruby's handled our party of 6 perfectly. None of us could fault the outstanding food and drinks that we ordered. Service was friendly and enthusiastic throughout and would recommend anyone looking for a cosy independent café. Thank you for making our Sunday!

My partner suggested we pop in here after we went to the (excellent) York Cold War bunker. Lovely and peaceful café; we had a hot chocolate, latte, pâte on toasted sourdough, and the hollumi sticks served with sweet chilli. All excellent -- served quickly and with generous portions. Thanks for being part of our long weekend in York -- we're glad we popped in :-)

Best coffee in the area - really flavourful and milk at the perfect Goldilocks temperature ! The avocado on toast is delicious, and they also have a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options - including lots of cake. They are very dog friendly which is lovely!

Nice but small coffee shop where I have been for lunch a couple of times. Lovely friendly staff. Plenty of choice of food and drink but not always managed to get a table as it is small and popular. Shame there is no room outside for seating.

Lovely to see the cafe busy today. My wife said it was the same yesterday. Chilled and friendly feel was just what we were looking for this lunchtime. The food was grand but the milkshake was a bit thin for me. Picked up a cake each to take away as we couldn't resist them and couldn't eat any more. Good luck guys.

Not before time Acomb has got a decent coffee shop, Thomas's just doesn't cut it when your in need of proper coffee and cake. Bit pricey (particularly for where it is) but good quality and friendly owner. Would benefit from a bit more outside space and air circulating inside (it is small/bijou) and sometimes gets a bit "close". Great addition to Acomb and I do return so she's doing something right!

1 full breakfast, 1 small breakfast & 2 teas £24 i think well over priced. Lovely staff ect but won't be returning Dog Friendly but nearly had a dog on my breakfast. So ok if dogs kept away from others when Eating 🤔 Full English in my Town, I admit it's not York but neither is Acomb, Hence the price!!!!
