Cute little cafe. Had the African wrap (i think it was called) had chicken, feta, avocado and other stuff in. Got lots of doritos on the side. The others in my group had date and walnut scones which they said were very good. Good location.

A lovely place to stop and have a brew and a cake Came here with my wife to get out of the rain and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not normally a cafe goer but I really liked the quiet and relaxed vibe this place gave off. The staff are nice and pleasant and the prices are good. There is a surprising amount of choice on the menu from burritos to cakes. I had the carrot cake (which was bloody delicious) and a pot of tea and my wife had an Iced tea and a fruit scone. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to relax after a busy day shopping and sight seeing in york

Quirky interior and wam welcome… marvellous! Delicious penini, but the only downside was sadly the tortilla chips and salad dressing were tasteless.

There are better coffee shops in York. We waited at least 10 minutes for the second batch of coffees, by which time the first people had finished theirs. The kids had milkshakes which were £3.69 each and for that they got a very disappointing glass of frothed milk with crusha. It was not a success. The only good thing was the story of the hanged highwayman and ghosts on the stairs. That got them an extra star

Visited the cafe recently. Agree with all the reviews that it's a lovely cafe and would recommend. I was amazed that when I went to pay I couldn't buy some scones to take away. I would be interested to hear from the owners as in the current financial climate they missed out on a sale.

Lovely little place for hot drinks. I ordered an after eight mocha and it was delicious, came with an after eight too. The food looked nice. There was also little decor faces on the walls for sale at decent prices! I would visit again for sure.

Cosy seating with a great atmosphere, delicious scones and coffee, staff very friendly, and rapid service. Only negative is that it is so well regarded that you struggle to get a table at peak times.

Popped in for a coffee and breakfast, we were not disappointed. The staff were super friendly Nd efficient. We ate bacon baggle and pancakes with fresh fruit. The food was lovely and the coffee decent. I would visit again if I came to York again

Really nice decoration and view from the windows. But the breakfast isn't as nice as the place is. Pancake are microwaved, fruits are refrigerated, making the overall really cold. I hope they get better food because the place looks is really cool :-)

Nice little place. Good deco and nice atmosphere. Basic food and pushing pricey for what it is. But nice enjoy. Hot Chocolate drink with a tot of brandy was nice. Some good garden stone wall hangings to buy they were are good prices.

My favourite stop for a bite to eat and a delightful coffee. If you like your medieval architecture with a warm welcome and great food, this 700 year old coffee house is for you!

Delightful stop for a snack and truly haunted. I went upstairs and set my camera for low light, took several pictures. When I had time to look at the photo’s that night... eek! Obvious activity.

Polite service. Coffee was weak, should be a double shot for a flat white as standard. Not one to complain. Face to face as I prefer making comments online after the event. Had to add sugar so the coffee tasted like something, hit sugary milk, not like coffee.

(Translated) I had a scone with tea and dates. The tea was okay, especially the scones, which were warmed up moderately and served with warm butter. The sweet date palm melts the scones in your mouth even without the jam. The cozy atmosphere makes the taste even better! (Original) 티와 대추야자가 들어간 스콘을 먹었습니다. 티는 무난했고, 특히 스콘은 적당히 데워져 나와서 따듯하게 버터를 녹여가면서 곁들이기에 좋았습니다. 따로 잼을 바르지 않아도 달달한 대추야자 덕에 스콘 맛이 입에서 녹더군요. 아늑한 분위기 덕에 맛도 한층 업!
