N. S.I came from Hong Kong a few months ago, and I absolutely panicked when I wrecked my mom’s laptop screen. I know no one here that I can entrust my laptop to and have it fixed, without stealing any parts of my laptop (I know tons of IT technicians who do that back in my home country). I generally have no confidence in getting my laptops/phones fixed other than going back to the manufacturer’s place (I always use Apple so I don’t know what to do when I wrecked a Lenovo!)
After a night’s research, I decided to go to Cocotec, because of the overwhelming amount of 5-star reviews on Google it gets. I have a few requirements in mind when I search for a repair shop:
1. Somewhere near where I live
2. Gets it fixed quickly (I consider within a week to be reasonable and a few days to be quick)
3. At a reasonable price (so I don’t need to break the bank; I was expecting it to take within £200 for this level of repair)
4. Trustworthy (as I have trust issues with IT technicians back in the days)
I decided to call early in the next morning as I am worried about it. Tomasz, the founder of Cocotec, quickly answered and I told him how I wrecked the laptop screen, all my worries and stuff. He sounded reassuring to me and can meet my requirements 1-3 (coz you can’t tell if someone’s trustworthy that soon!). So, I went to his place ASAP and gave him my broken laptop.
At his place, he examined the laptop and quoted me the repair cost which I thought was quite reasonable. Then, I went home and he texted me saying that after double checking, the screen is a nice one so it will be slightly more expensive than the quoted price, and asked if I still want to go on with it. At first I hesitated for a while but given that my laptop is slightly configured and different from others, and it is still within my reasonable range, I can accept that. I am happy that he asked me about it before ordering the screen.
After 26 hours (the next day - Saturday) he told me the laptop was ready for collection! It was extremely fast at least in my point of view. It is never going to be 100% new for my case but I can hardly see any traits of repairing done on my laptop now. The repair is of a high quality. I have been staring at the new laptop screen for another day until I am confident that I can write this review. It looks pretty nice to me as if I have never wrecked it before😂
Anyway I have already recommended Cocotec to my friends. I will also come back in case any of my Apple stuff are broken (I own a few Apple gadgets and I’m hoping I don’t wreck the same Lenovo laptop again!). He really gave me the confidence I needed and I can see where the other reviews are coming from: that he solved the problem quickly in a professional, friendly manner, as well as charging a reasonable price. I hope this review helps anyone who is like me before, panicking to find someone who is willing to and is good at dealing with broken laptops!

T. M.I found Cocotec online as I needed to replace my slow mechanical hard drive in my Imac. And after looking at a few reviews I decided to contact the firm and find out how much it would cost. I spoke to Thomasz and he explained exactly how much it would be, he had to send away for the adhesive to place my screen back. But in a couple of days he text me to say that I could take it in. It took him just under an hour and that was cleaning the inside and replacing the thermal paste which was extra but I had agreed to that previously. I asked him about upgrading the RAM whilst he had the computer open, but he said that the amount I do on the computer would not see any extra speed. I would like to thank him for his honesty. B. 5.At first I thought my laptop was a write-off with the CPU being slow and the GPU underperforming and the fan not really spinning, even at high temps. I went to one laptop repair shop company, and they told me that I should flash the bios and charge me £200. I found this company, and Tom managed to make me see the problem was with the fan. He got the fan replaced and changed my thermal paste for me aswell. Very reasonable price, very professional and very good at explaining things. Would love to come back here again. He installed a new SSD drive in my 6 year old Macbook Pro (which Apple now class as a vintage model), updated my OS and revcovered the data from my corrupted hardrive. It now runs as if it was new, so will last me another few years. Also ran a diagnostic check on my Sony Vaio tablet, revealing over a a thousand minor viruses. He removed those and installed an antivirus programme, it's now working better than ever.
For anyone unsure about Tom's credentials, I personally wouldn't hesitate recommending him and will definitely use him again if I have any hardware or software problems with my laptop/pc equipment in the future.
