My son's laptop needed a new GPU fan which I was struggling to find a replacement for and, in honesty, didn't have the experience to replace. Emlyn managed to find a replacement which arrived weeks earlier then expected, charged a very fair price for the fan and fitting including replacing the thermal paste. The new fan works a treat. I honestly could not recommend Emlyn more - what a polite, professional, and genuinely lovely gentleman! My partner and I felt we were being ripped off at a different repair shop in town, and I was lucky enough to hear of Laptop Chap through Google. Yes as others have reported, Emlyn is a really decent chap. I went to him for a new lead for my secondhand Dell laptop. He didn't have one but instead of ordering one and charging me extra, he got me to photo the specs of the laptop and Whatsapp them to him. He then promptly sent me a link for me to get it directly. Took my broken, demolished phone in on the Monday at midday (12) it was done and ready to collect at 16:00 (and he was working alone!) being my only way of contact with the world and also work phone, found it so helpful that he went and got the parts there and then from his supplier to have it fixed on the same day. Would recommend this gentleman over any other of the pop up cheap phone replacement stores you now see on every corner. I went in saying how much is it? £60? (due to the damage being so bad) and he said no £50 for your damage, very rare find a business that is that honest and customer focused, most people would grab at the money dishonestly and over charge. I went there on a recommendation from a work colleague and will be going back again in a few weeks to get my iPad repaired. Definitely recommend and now be using as my go to! Emlyn is brilliant, can't believe I've been trying to do DIY and other local provider repairs for the last 10 years and he's virtually on my doorstep. He kindly referred to my issue as 'liquid damage' rather than 'idiot with a pineapple and spinach smoothie' (it's a thing, honest) and while he could fix it, he found me a replacement laptop that was a grade up from my sticky one, that would be cheaper than the repair cost plus parts, thus basically doing himself out of the payment for his efforts in order to get me a good solution. AND he refurbs PCs to send to kids in Rwanda. Now, my only complaint would be that when I raised the subject of reviews he told be I would be the 50th and I'm the 51st.
