I got a free charger replacement for my hp laptop. Very patient and helpful staff. Best place ever. Totally recommend.

It took a laptop in to have data recovered following a corruption. Unfortunately they were unable to recover the data nor were their preferred specialist data recovery laboratory. The cost for looking at my PC was free!! Despite the amount of time and care they took, the phone calls, updates and discussions. I cannot fault the service, which was second to none. Everyone in the shop is friendly and welcoming and take the time to understand your needs and explain everything clearly. I also bought a new SSD drive and a RAM expansion chip for a 10 year old computer after taking their advice and after having satisfactorily installed both my computer is now running better and faster than when it was new!! I cannot recommend Colchester IT highly enough. I'm so grateful to them for their help and guidance. If you have an IT problem, seriously, take your computer to these guys first. It'll save you a fortune when you consider how much the "big boys" charge for a service Colchester IT provide free of charge!!

My very old Lenovo ThinkPad has been upgraded and is now to a speed ! Friendly staff & efficient customer service, comes with a year warranty! 🙂 Comes highly recommendable👍

Helpful, informative & efficient. We took our PC to Colchester IT, despite having a care contract with Currys because we wanted our PC back quickly & not to be sent away somewhere - where we would know not where. We felt more assured having it fixed locally, where we could discuss issues with the engineers. John & his team are very helpful in this regard. We have used them before and were very happy with their service and will, no doubt, use them in future.

I needed a machine to process photographs (100mb files) using photoshop really quickly. I was fed up with waiting for images to load and then take ages to enhance. I discussed this with Colchester IT who took the time to listen to what I wanted and then built me a machine to do just that using a lightning fast i9 processor and fast media card - they also built it the way I wanted it to look (chic and not jazzy). I couldn't have got this 'off the shelf' and anything that came close was a lot more expensive. I am more pleased than I can say. Brilliant service, incredibly quick from first discussion to delivered machine (5 working days) and the quality of build is amazing. I can't imagine ever going anywhere else for IT equipment, service and general help and advice. I cannot praise this firm enough.

A few months ago, I desperately needed some practical assistance to resolve several IT problems. There are plenty of people out there only too willing to give it a go, but who can you really trust to give fair and objective advice and not rip you off? After a lot of research and thought, I decided I would at least talk to Colchester IT. I was fortunate enough to speak to Jack, Branch Manager, who was very patient in listening to my many concerns and clearly had a grip on all the issues; I received a very reasonable quotation within hours. Since then, Jack has had my PC in for a service, upgrade and the installation of an excellent data backup system that is really simple for me to operate. He followed this up by servicing my wife’s PC, which was making some unnerving whirring noises (now absent) and installing a data backup system for that machine too. The cherry on the cake was when, at my request, he searched for and discovered a cache of long-lost photos, the disappearance of which had been very upsetting, in an obscure place on my wife’s very old laptop. I am absolutely delighted with all this excellent service and would like to offer a huge Thank You to Jack and Colchester IT. I shall not be looking anywhere else for my IT and computing needs. Brilliant!

This includes sending you elsewhere if they cannot assist you in your timetable. The staff is very friendly. It was almost like going into a local pub. Very willing to help. Hard drive failed on my computer, not only did they diagnose the issue and get back to me in less than 24 hours (despite informing me it was first come first served and they had stuff to do before my laptop) but they also installed the hard drive in impeccable timing and I had the laptop back the following day. I was kept up to date with everything that was going on with my laptop through calls, and they went out of their way to recover the data on the hard drive even though I had already backed it up the really important myself, which I found generous. They gave me the option between a regular larger hard drive or a solid state of the same price. They also agreed to drop the price down if they just installed the hard drive for me and I installed the operating system myself. It was a really fair price for the cost of the hard drive, the recovering of data, and the labour. And the best thing of all is now my laptop is working better than ever. Overall I am very impressed and will definitely be coming back again (if needed).

Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient repair service at a reasonable price. They put a new hard drive in my wife's Russian laptop and copied over the data without breaking a sweat. After certain competitors had shrugged their shoulders and told me it couldn't be done. Residents-only parking in this area, so park in the town centre and walk. About a 15 minute walk from Colchester Town station. Highly recommended, and this will be the only place I go next time.

If you are non techy but think you can save tiime and money by sorting glitches yourself, just STOP IT! I have had an email issue on my laptop for nearly 3 weeks and have tried to sort it myself at least 4 times by following official Outlook tutorials. Finally I took it into Colchester IT and Jack fixed it in less than a minute and didn't make me feel stupid for going in. All the guys are so knowledgeable and will explain things in a clear way, and will clarify things if you don't understand! We have been buying laptops and getting service support for years. Highly recommended.

Fantastic service from this locally based company. Went in with a very slow HP computer with a thought in my mind to upgrade it. Was informed that a solid state hardrive, general clean and tidy will fix the problem at a snip of the price. Left the computer with them and was kept updated and rang when ready to collect. Went through the basics with me as also loaded Windows 10 and gave me my old Hardrive back. Pleasant, friendly and happy to help with nothing being to much of a problem. Also added an Avast antivirus at half the normal rrp. When it comes to Computer issues to meet someone face to face and go through the problems is far better than explaining over the phone and I couldn't have asked for a better service. Even dusted the laptop for me upon returning it. Would definitely recommend.
