I contacted Mark because our 12 year old PC was unbearably slow. He was able to diagnose the likely issues and quote for the necessary upgrade work over the phone based on his knowledge of the make and model. He collected the computer and returned it 3 days later with a new lease of life, back to the processing speed it had when it was brand new.

Thought I had completely lost everything in my laptop as it was unresponsive and unusable but Mark managed to knock it out of the park with this one. Not only he managed to fix the recurring issue, he also fixed the touchpad that had not been usable for the past few years. Impressively, he did all of that in the space of 4 working days. As an active academic, despite my advanced age, I am heavily dependent on IT, but I lack technological competence when I encounter or create problems. As a Mac user in academia, I encounter a reaction from my three university IT units which seems akin to the treatment of people of colour in the apartheid of South Africa 50 years ago; they just don’t want to know me and my problems with my non-PC device. I tried several online agencies, but without much success, and with considerable embarrassment. Then I was advised to contact Mark at Computer Solutions. He visited me digitally on several occasions, for a range of problems over the months that followed. I always encountered a warm, friendly, caring voice supportively asking me about my problems. He gently but swiftly took them on board and resolved them effectively, impressively speedily, and comprehensively. Great service and highly recommended for PC repairs. I was having trouble with Windows 10 not loading, and Mark was able to diagnose and repair the problem in a few days. It turned out my computer needed upgrading, but Mark explained everything and made the process easy. Would definitely recommend Computer Solutions Edinburgh for laptop and PC repairs. They have recently Upgraded one of our laptops and repaired another. Today we had them here for a 3rd visit to remove viruses and malware from our other computer a Desktop PC and it is now running like new. The customer service and communication were excellent throughout and there were no hidden costs even though some extra work was involved. The computer guy that worked on our machines was obviously experienced, worked very fast and explained what he was doing as he went along. If you're googling where to repair your laptop in Edinburgh like I did, I'd recommend Mark: Firstly, his prices are quite reasonable. He quoted me the price before hand so my final bill was like he said ( I once repaired my computer elsewhere and they unexpectedly charged me much more than their original quote..). secondly, he's got lots of experience. he's been fixing computers for companies for a number of years. thirdly, I liked that he listened and remembered every detail I said about my laptop to him over the phone and in person. My laptop's repaired just as I hoped (it needed replacing a hard drive) and is certainly in a better state than it was before repair, with Mark adding some minor improvements to it as well as the main repair. So he definitely ticks all the boxes for a good computer repair specialist. My review is totally independent and based on the service provided.

When my 8+ year old laptop refused to load Windows (7) and all repair attempts failed, I was fairly certain I had lost all of my personal files, including music and pictures from the last 10+ years. I was ready to buy a new computer or at least a new version of Windows and start from scratch when I thought I’d try to find a local expert first (something I had never done and was a bit nervous about). I selected Mark based on his reviews and was thoroughly impressed by his responsiveness, attention to my needs, and the end result. I contacted Mark very late on a Saturday evening. I heard from him on Sunday morning and brought my laptop to him that afternoon. By the middle of the same week, my laptop had been fixed with Windows reinstalled and all of my personal files restored! Mark also answered my queries after returning my computer while I was busy running Windows updates and restoring my computer to its previous state (settings, etc.). After consulting two other Edinburgh firms regarding my faulty laptop, which both claimed my motherboard and processor had gone due to overheating. I wasnt truly convinced and thought 3rd time lucky and stumbled upon Computer Solutions Edinburgh, in hindsight, i wish i had found them first. After dropping off the machine for a diagnosis, i recieved a telephone call 20 minutes later from Mark informing me he had repaired it and was ready to be picked up. I did not think it possible in such a short time period. I had beleived maybe the hard drive, ram, HDMI graphics card or other hardware device was causing the problems with the laptop, but not the previous diagnosis of burnt out motherboard and processor which would be too costly to repair. However for a very reasonable fee, Mark was able to repair my beloved laptop and kept costs to a bare minimum. Many thanks to Mark and his team and would happily recommend to anyone with any computer issues.
