John from PC Doctor has been maintaining my desktop for the past 9 years. He has always provided solid technical advice and helped maximise my PC performance. Due to the age of my desktop, Windows 11 would not download, so I knew it was time to upgrade. The specifications I sought would put my purchase in the region of £1,850, so I asked for advice. John said he could build me a hi-spec desktop which he did over two days and I am absolutely thrilled. If I were to make a recommendation when you next need to update your PC, speak to John and get the system you want tailored to your needs. Doctor without the scary "parts". You must know the feeling when you have something important to you that needs to be taken care of and the outcome is questionable. You might know a few things about the situation but over all you know that at the end, it has to be a trusted professional who will solve the problem, with the right advice. If this is what you are looking for well, than you are at the right place. PC Doctor is exactly what it is without wasting your time, money, leaving you hanging on quotes or not picking up the phone. A friendly chatter is what the experience is, without ever feeling in doubts about your choices in a field where someone could easily take advantage of you. PC Doctor does exactly the opposite of that. I have been contacting him three times in the past years and so far all advices he suggested me to go with worked out like a dream. Nobody likes when their times are wasted, that usually goes with wasting money and resources. This attitude is matched with an easy to chat to kind personality and a seemingly bottomless pit of professional knowledge of his industry. If you ever need a doctor, hope for the PC Doctor. You won't leave without outstanding results!

It was great to find a place where they could fix my MacBook after Apple suggested there was nothing to do but buy a new computer. PC Doctor has excellent customer service and accurate information on the status of your repair—overall very satisfying service from PC Doctor. I would highly recommend that Mac users try this place first before wasting their time and money on Apple's service!

To be fair, my request was a simple check-up and advice on a strange pop-up when I turned my laptop on. The Doctor (I hope he doesn't mind me calling him that) looked it over to his best ability and for a reasonable price stripped it, cleaned it and returned it. It took 2 hours so if there's a restaurant nearby, you can wait there, or you can do what I did and visit the Edinburgh Zoo that's also not too far. My laptop almost stopped lagging entirely when I played some of the most demanding games on it. Needless to say, the doctor did his job well, and I recommend his services. And if I can just recommend one thing. If you're a foreigner, make sure your laptop can change its default language to English.

I called in to Roseburn shop to see if my laptop could be repaired as I required to travel to Wales the next day.. I had foolishly broken the hard drive connection. The gentleman at the shop was exceptionally kind and tried to fix but reckoned may need new hard drive. However, he persevered and managed to get it working. Alan did a fantastic job recovering my data, installing a new hard disk and setting my machine up again when my laptop hard disk decided to blow up at the worst possible time. I'd been having some issues with the keyboard on my Mac Air 2018, and decided (unintelligently) to pry off the spacebar to try and clean underneath it, hoping it would fix the issue. I wasn't able to get it back on after the fact, so I called PC Doctor and asked if they could help. John got back to me about the status of the keyboard within about 24 hours (admittedly I called at least once to ask--I'm a busy student with anxiety issues!), letting me know that he had managed to get the spacebar reattached but was unable to fully repair the damage it had sustained in my untrained exploits, purely because Apple products are designed to only be serviceable by Apple. Luckily Apple has acquiesced to doing free keyboard replacements for more recent models for an inherent design flaw, and I should be able to get mine replaced too--but John made sure I knew about the replacement initiative and gave me good advice. Really appreciate him taking half off the usual minimum price given the size of the job. Very appreciative and would definitely recommend!

Yesterday my iMac completely froze up and I thought that all my information was lost because after I switched it off it was completely dead ! Panic.. I called the Doctor and he came the same day and took my poor Mac to his workshop. Today I got it back fully repaired and a compete backup of all my photos document pictures etc. All at a reasonable charge and done with a no nonsense professional service. Thanks guys.

Could not get my Ipad connected to my PC, I spent many frustrating hours fiddling about and eventually had to give up ! I am pretty good with technology but this was driving me mad. I phoned PC Doctor and they talked through the procedure over the phone and managed to get it fixed. I brought my PC into the shop on the following Friday for a health check and when I collected it a couple of days later it was running much faster and they also put in some extra memory for me. My PC gradually became so slow it was unbearable - being a Software Developer it is important that I have a fast reliable PC so after a search for local repair shops I decided to give PCDoctor a try, a representative arrived promptly on the arranged date / time and quickly spotted the problem - one of my sticks of RAM had stopped working - the offending stick was replaced and my PC was once again bearable to operate. I highly recommend PCDoctor and the fast reliable service they provide.

Best service in town really, Specialists in modding and water cooling + repairs on top of that. My "hot" Intel CPU is properly cooled now with fitted custom water-cooling kit !!

Have had several pc repair folk over the last 15 years and this is the one I come back to. Shop in Roseburn or home callout. Reliable friendly service. Save up all your niggly problems and for £48.00 John will fix them all. (fixed my Samsung phone and gave me advice for no extra charge). If your p.c. is a dying duck - will take away and repair or replace parts and return (within 2 days this time) . Callouts from about 4.00pm till very late .Always turns up. Will phone to tell you when he will arrive.Has even given me advice over the phone.

Would highly highly recommend John and Pc Doctor, looking for a gaming rig for streaming and john bent over backwards to make me a sweet rig and around the holiday season in his own time, much respect will be back again. Highly recommend++++++++++
