We always use Source for our screens, protectors etc, always brilliant to deal with. Recently my Mother-in-law went in to enquire about a new washing machine. She was in the shop at 2 on Saturday afternoon. By 7 o’clock it was fitted, working and the old one taken away. Fantastic service by great guys to deal with. Forget about the big chains!

Came here to find out if they could do a battery and charging port replacement for quite an old Huawai phone, and turns out they still had official battery stocked for the model! I expected to have to come back for the phone in a few days or a week, but they managed to finish the job in less than an hour, and were very helpful in general and even threw in a free screen protector. I have been here in the past too when I used to live closer to the shop, but still will definitely return for any repairs, purchases, and queries about other electronics, even though I live much further away now. I highly recommend Source Electronics to anyone looking for a reliable electronics shop with friendly, informative, professional and efficient staff!

I had my MacBook updated here. I was given expert advice and guidance on the phone first. When I brought my MacBook in for the upgrade I was offered a number of different solutions. The upgrade was completed by 5pm on the same day. The cost was not only reasonable, but about half of what I expected. Everything works perfectly and ten times better than before. The people in this shop are amazing, so friendly and efficient! I had a problem with the trackpad and keyboard of my Mac, and the staff in the Apple store had told me it would take a week to fix and would cost £93. I decided to get a wired keyboard and mouse to be able to use my laptop, and this is why I got into the shop, but they told me they could fix the problem on the spot, within less than an hour, for £60! The laptop is now as good as new, for a very reasonable price, and I did not even have to part with it for more than an hour! I also got a warranty. Never going to the Apple store again.

Friendly and super professional! After going to the Genius Bar to fix my 'vintage' MacPro, where they said the computer was lost, I went to Source Electronics. They fixed my computer as if it was the most simple thing in the world at a super fair price. My smashed phone screen was also saved with new and original screen. Spoke with Alistair via email for a quote to change my phone battery as phone is a little older so wasn't listed on their website. Alistair was prompt with a response and offered to put one aside as I wasn't able to come in right away. Popped in about a week later and the battery was still set aside. Alistair managed to change the battery out and start charging it within an hour. Overall excellent comms, great price and service. The store is clean, well lit and stocked with all sorts if you're in a pinch. Highly recommended.

The charging port on my phone was broken. I had been to several other places who offered to fix the port for upwards of £50 or £60. I came into the shop and they offered to just replace the port for the cost of the part (under £30) and it only took half an hour. They were nice and welcoming.

I needed the screen on my phone replaced. Hex wanted £89 and Source Electronics did it for £60. They were a pleasure to work with, fast, good communication, and Alistair was very helpful and just lovely and intelligent. Been here a few times over the last couple of years - great reconditioned laptops and brilliant service every time. The reconditioned gear is reconditioned properly too - lasts a long time. The only reason I had to go back in with my laptop at all is because I'd had it for long enough that I needed to update the OS to Windows 10! Their repair service is excellent! They are two brothers who work collaboratively, who are, evidently, immensely experienced within the Apple repairs area and are really passionate about technology. They're definitely very professional. I've personally used their services on multiple occasions. They're incredibly helpful, friendly and approachable too. Their price range is beyond reasonable as they do not charge a "diagnostics" fee (which is commonly done by most mobile/computer technicians I've encountered) and they have a "no fix, no fee" policy, meaning if you experience any problems they're there to assist you. I've returned to them several times and they've been empathetic to the problems with my phone and have definitely placed all of their effort and energy into resolving the issue. Additionally to the "no fix, no fee" policy they have a 3 month warranty so they're available to help you, and do so, free of charge for an extensive period of time. They're incredibly reliable, despite problems that have occurred, they're there and very trustworthy in my opinion. They do not charge extortionately like most repair technicians do, they palpably care about their customers. I would like to reiterate that they're very reliable and friendly, both of the brothers are lovely guys and are very considerate to the needs of their customers. I've personally witnessed this with their engagement with other customers and also the help they've provided whilst I've had issues with my iPhone. They're VERY fast paced, they don't make you wait too long but they take their time to assist you. Genuinely, the best repairs technicians in Edinburgh in my opinion. Summary - Hugely impressed with the fair price, friendly helpful staff, quality and speed of work. I'd strongly recommend to anyone. My iPhone 6S wasn't charging. I went to one their competitors, simply because I wasn't aware of Source Electronics. The competitor recommended a new charger, which I bought, and which didn't fix the problem. I Googled the problem, figured out what was wrong and searched the solution, there I found Source Electronics online. They fixed the problem within 30 minutes and were cheaper than their competitor and what I had seen online. The Staff were really friendly, professional and helpful, the quality of their work is perfect. They told me if there couldn't fix the phone, there would be no charge for inspecting it. BEST IN EDINBURGH for RELIABLE QUALITY REPAIRS at SUPERB PRICES Top quality reliable repairs at fantastic prices. FREE estimates. I've been visiting them for five years now and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Unlike so many other shops that either do poor work, overcharge or charge for unneccissary work they do brilliant work and only charge for what needs to be repaired. I just took my Zbook Laptiop to them with water damage and they only charged an hours labour to repiar it. Most other shops would charge that to just look at it. Superb service and just like new. They are also super friendly great guys that are very easy to explain your problem to and get straightforward help. Totally trustworthy which is rare these days. TIP: Call ahead and book your repair in as they can often fix things within an hour and you can grab a coffee nearby and while you wait. They fixed my laptop within the hour. Most phone repairs are done within the hour also is booked in with them in advance.

This is, by any and every metric, the best place for tech repair in Edinburgh. Have been in several times and each time it's great. To recap the last time I went in: -phone's not detecting headphones. Call up when they open, explain the issue to them as best as I can. They're able to determine the issue has to do with a worn-down part and they tell me they can swap in a replacement. They tell me the (very affordable) price and the time it'll take to fix it (less than an hour). -I head up there and drop off the phone. I'm ready to pay but they insist I pay only after I got the service I came in for. -Come back 30 minutes later. Not only is the problem totally solved but they fixed an entirely different issue with the charging port (which I hadn't even mentioned, but which had been ongoing for months). I ask them what that'll run me, they say it's free of charge. -noticing the phone's got some cracks, they ask me if I've got a case. I say no. They just go and get me a case and add it on free. I ask what I owe them for all these extras but they insist. This is just one example centered on phones; they've also helped me with computer issues and replacement parts for other machinery in the past. Couldn't ask for better help--it's the best in the city.

My Kindle was diagnosed ( by another company some 15 mins away) as having a cracked screen. Their advice was virtually - ‘too bad you’ll need a new one’ - that, in sharp contrast to Source Electronics who, although providing the same diagnosis, immediately went on line & sourced and ordered a replacement (original manufacturer) screen from China - job done, with the minimum of fuss & maximum of efficiency & courtesy. I accidentally smashed the screen on my mobile, so i was shopping around for repair prices. A colleague recommended Source Electronics so I gave them a call. Cheapest quote, they had the part in stock and offered a same day service, telling me it would only take an hour to repair. I took my phone in and the guy serving was really polite and he advised that it would more than likely be around 30 minutes since the shop wasn't busy at that point, so I just hung about locally whilst my phone was being repaired. Came in with a smashed Huawei P9 screen which was speedily fixed. Unfortunately my phone developed a battery fault after the repair but when I took it in again the guys in the shop looked at it quickly, admitted responsibility and replaced my battery as quick as they could with no extra cost. I have been using this shop for circa 25 years and I can honestly say what a truly excellent service this shop gives! I came here to replace a cracked Samsung cell phone screen. I told them that Samsung offered to replace the screen and battery for 210 gbp. They said they would do it for 200 gbp, so I went with them to save the 10 pounds. They changed the screen and battery within 30 minutes. I used the phone for about 3 weeks but found the battery to be very bad (lasting only about half as long as my previous 1.5 year old battery). I took it back to the store and without hesitation they replaced my battery for no charge. My battery has been good since. I am very happy with the product (screen and battery) as well as services provided. The owners seem to be trustworthy and reliable. I recommend taking your business here.

Highly recommended. I have an Ultimate Bluetooth speaker which had a usb lead connector stuck. Having just been told at another repair place that it was unrepairable I was delighted, when the gentleman at Source Electronics, looked carefully, took out some mini pliers and removed the offending broken cable connector. All works fine and no charge. Brilliant! He also then went onto fix the headphone connection on my partner's mbl phone. Again refused to charge for such minor repair. Very impressed and grateful.

I went a few months ago to ask for help as I couldnt install my tv wall bracket as Sony has a special fittings that didnt come included with the whole kit, basically there are extra long screws which I couldnt find anywhere, the guy behind the desk, provided me with the screws I needed free of charge and told me how to install it from beginning to an end, he didnt want to charge me for it as Im eternally grateful to him for it. Had a very small technical issue with my phone and that staff fixed it for free. On top of that, they provided a USB C cable for my mac even though they were out of them. Not a dishonest bone in their bodies. I once left my wallet there with £3500 in cash and they saved the bulging thing for me. Also great for used phones. Desperately in need of one I traveled all the way from Leith because I knew I'd be treated right. Brilliant service and repair. My wife dropped her iPhone 4s last night and broke the display screen not the glass front. So thought it may have been to far gone as nothing showed up except faint green stripes. So I googled (mapped) this morning iPhone repairs Edinburgh. A few popped up around and now google has reviews which plays with your mind and decided to go with Source Electronics. And that was the perfect choice. Said they would replace the LCD screen for 35 quid in 1.5 hours. And they did. They put a peel off screen cover on like it was just brand new and charged the phone up for her. The shop and staff look and act 100% professional. Now Im from NZ and have travelled the world a few times and believe I am pretty onto it. This Nathan Wang who left a weird negative review to me seems like a 100% hoax. I read his review twice and believe he is working for some opposition is the only reason why I believe he left this review which is common like on trip advisor. I chatted to the dudes at the shop about his review for interest and they said he is a liar and there is nothing they can do to contest his review. Trip adviser and amazon let you do it - google should let you do it too, and they will have to in time. If you read Nathans English and his written content it simply doesn't make sense. I checked his google+ profile and the only thing on it is his negative review of Source electronics. I thought my investigation was quite an interesting thing today. But anyway cheers Source Electronics for fixing my ladies phone. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff! Always happy to help. We had a problem with the laptop battery which needed replacement as told by HP Support staff. As our warranty expired HP were not willing to help us out and that's how we found Source Electronics, who ordered the replacement battery for us and also offered fitting (inc. in the cost :)) However when the replacement battery arrived they checked it and told us it was faulty. Then they ordered another one and it arrived in the speed of light. Although we have changed the battery, the laptop was only charging when off. They checked the issue and found out it may have had something to do with the lower voltage of the universal charger we bought when we started having problems with the battery. These guys are honest and awesome !! Their no fix no fee policy is real. Came to their shop last month when I accidentally drop a SINGLE DROP OF SOUP on my macbook air trackpad. The damage is bad and my mac won't turn on. The guy said that he needs to replace the trackpad (due to heavy corrosion) but unfortunately he ordered the wrong type. Called me to inform that they failed to fix my mac. Next day I came to the shop and take my mac without paying any single penny. Miraculously my macbook could work again so they definitely already tried to fix it, but refuse to get any payment since they are not doing what they were promising (replacing my trackpad). But with the honesty, recommendation (to avoid s*****f**it), and the warm attitude, I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE and will definitely come back to them in the future 😊
