Just bought a TV from the Gloucester Eastern Avenue store. They had a great range of TVs on display and enough staff members available to answer questions and offer advice. We were served by Jack who was really helpful and knowledgeable. He even came out into the pouring rain with another colleague to help us get it into the car. They both got soaked through but never complained, they were a credit to the store.

Every now and again I'll go on Currys website to look at the price of something as they seem to be quite competitive. On this occasion I popped in on an impulse to look at monitors and I probably spent 20 mins going back and forth googling models and deciding what I was after. From what I could tell, the only stock they had was on the shelf at the back which was very lacking. In the end I had to order for next day delivery which arrived when it said it would on a Sunday which was good but my in-store experience was poor. The shop wasn't busy and no member of staff was in the computer section or came over to offer assistance.

Lots of great tech products on display including big screen TVs. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend for purchasing TVs as you can compare makes and models picture quality unlike an online purchase.

The shop /store in its self is great but on my last visit I went into store with a specific thing in mind whilst viewing the products on sale was approached by a member of staff asking if i needed any advice I pretty much knew what I wanted to buy and when I told the guy what I wanted he went into overdrive to dissuade me not to buy this brand of TV as it wasn't good in low light rooms and kept pushing another brand on me which I stated I wasn't interested in as I already have the Sony and wasn't enamored with it but still he tried bombarding me with why I shouldn't buy the Samsung and only stopped when I walked away I've now purchased the TV I was interested in and its perfect in everyway including low light rooms the only thing was currys/carphone warehouse lost a sale as I bought it from another retailer.

Staff are fairly knowledgeable although far from expects when it comes down to detail. A big plus point is that they have adapted and very often the cost is similar to that of Amazon , so if there is something very generalised such as a monitor it’ll likely be the same cost as online. Get their app and look for clearance items also

Very handy shop & service when needing something is important or urgent. And that's it in a nutshell. CURRYS have been on the high Street for many yrs. I only had to spend £50, and purchased from there own branding in store. But sadly I was shocked later to find well known higher quality similar same as items at Amazon online at least £15.00 cheaper.

Well I went to Currys Eastern Avenue Gloucester yesterday. I bought a LED TV from there quite some time ago, & took out some care cover which I have been paying for 7 years & never missed a payment nor made a claim before. But something went wrong with it, but the service to try & get it sorted out or Replaced was not very helpful nor was it picked up by a courier the next day 🤔 also there was a crack in the top of the frame and a scratch on the screen from a mishap plus I had to get in there myself only to be served by someone who didn't seem that helpful or interested in my TV?? I had hoped to be able to look for another one 😕 but that is not looking very likely either 😕 so what does Currys have to say about that??

If I was writing this about the customer service supplied by David on the TV section it's a solid 5 Star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 His manor when dealing with customers, product knowledge, obvious passion for the tech are outstanding! You get the feeling that after pertinent questions he's giving genuine advice about what YOU need rather than shoving what Currys want to shift on to you or trying to hit targets. I've become a loyal customer and refuse to be served by anyone but him due to his professionalism. Well done David! Sadly he's let down by the management who are either standing around pointlessly in a gaggle at the front of the store like some Dad's Army rejects. About the only time you see them doing anything resembling work is when they're being downright rude to colleagues, interrupting when they're serving customers, blunt, unprofessional and without so much as a shred of common courtesy! They could do with some retraining and a refresher on how their attitude reflects on the store/brand! As for the Barney the dinosaur uniform and rip off BT logo uniform they're now wearing.... Comical, teletubbies! I don't care what they want you to believe, the rebrand is like something a 5 year old would choose. There is genuinely nothing good you can say about it, it's just that bad! Stock levels weren't good last time I was there but nationally they are a bit naff right now and it's still about the only go to place you can go in Gloucester to see tech. It's a shame there's an obvious amount of duplicate products on display and Samsung seems to have been given a severely disproportionate amount of space. You'll spot the Samsung rep. Just look for someone walking around, all in black like a lost cowboy, scowling if you dare glance at any other brand and offering laughably bias pushy advice to anyone who dare make eye contact! Buyers be warned. It's a shame Currys they've devestated the Carphone Warehouse brand. They were my go to place for unlocked, unaltered firmware handsets with competitive deals from all the networks. It almost feels there's a deliberate attempt to destroy the brand and exit the market. The staff have obviously been cut off at the knees by the company. Pity. There are certainly deals to be had and, if you pick the right staff, you'll get some decent service, but there are absolutely loads of places the company could improve. It's a shame they don't invest in more of the 'Davids' in their ranks and focus less on see through targets and pushy managers.

Used click and collect even thou it says hassle free its far from that, once I managed to book in i was still waiting 30minutes with no item ended up having to walk in to find out where my TV was so completely defeated the point in no contact ! But staff were very helpful

With flat entrance and exit and wide aisles though there were some boxes and furniture some aisle which meant some they were mpassable for wheelchair access. Staff are available to assist if required but i needed to seek them out which was a surprise as the store was quite quiet.

Currys is the go to place for new TVs. There are certain items where the choice range is just too wide and confusing to just buy online without first asking loads of questions and to see them working. . I went to currys gloucester armed with a long list of tech questions. I wasnt disappointed. An 18 year old Russian lad was an amazing source of solid answers and made our choice of a new state of the art tele very easy. The service matched too with fast delvery and onsite setup available. Well done Currys! Perfect service!... However, a postscript follows !!! ...... Sadly the set up service didn't match up to the above. In fact it scored a big fat zero. When the delivery lorry arrived the two guys brought it in unpacked it, plugged it in and switched it on. They flicked it briefly throigh a couple of channels then pulled up the apps screen choices. I asked question about how to adjust the contrast as in my view the picture was way too dark. Oh thats just personal choice was thier reply. I again pressed my question but they just sidestepped replying by saying go to settings but didnt show me how. They then left without once showing us anything about how to use the remote or to switch to HD etc. So we paid £45 for them to take it out of the box and plug it in! Later, after they had left, we turned the TV on again but within a couple of minutes the picture started breaking up non stop. I checked the aerial connections but they were ok. So phoned the helpline. From hereon the currys service was a nightmare! It took ages to get through to anyone. Then finally we did, answered loads of thier questions and were then told they were transferring us to someone who could help. But after waiting quite some time we were cut off without getting to speak to anyone. Repeated this whole lengthy and frustrating procedure and guess what,? The same thing happened! Finally i called another number and after listening to a lengthy recorded spiel for the third timei got through. Went through the whole process of answering lots of questions for a third time was finally told they would send another crew to fix it but that would not be possible for a further week. After a furthrr long discussion i was simply offered waiting week, a refund of the set up fee or return the tv to the shop. I opted for a refund saying that i would get a local tv installer to come and look at it bu if he could not fix it i would return it to the shop ( a 30 mile round trip for us). What a frustrating waste of a couple of hours! I then managed to get a local tv installer to come and look at it the following day. After just a couple of minutes he found the problem. The currys drivers had set it up to the wrong transmitter, Midlands rather than West, with a signal strength of less than 30% which is why the picture kept breaking up! He retuned it and it worked fine. Moral of the story... Get a professional to install it rather than a Currys lorry driver!

I was looking for a new, bigger TV so went along to my local Currys this morning. The store is very customer friendly and today there were quite a few staff ready and willing to help (I was there for opening time at 10 am). Being somewhat technically challenged, my Son had given me some advice which I wrote down and took along with me and I was lucky enough to be served by Lauren. If all the staff are as good as Lauren then you will be sure of first class, friendly, professional, (but not at all patronising), respectful service. As a clinically extremely vulnerable person, just released from 21 weeks of 'Shielding' it was very reassuring to see staff wearing masks and respecting distancing measures. A very enjoyable experience. Came away with everything on my list and just one little extra recommended by Laurel which, thankfully, my Son approved of. Thank you.

With so much stuff disappearing online these days its nice to still have somewhere to actually go where you can physically see, poke and prod the item you're actually interested in buying. I'd already looked on their website and decided on a couple of fridge freezers I was interested in, so I popped in on my way home from work to check them out as they're open till pretty late on a Friday evening. After deciding which one I wanted I was promptly assisted by a very helpful chap who efficiently processed my order so now I'm just waiting for the free delivery; I also opted to pay an additional £20 for them to take the old one away, I'm happy with that, so a really great experience all told. Keep up the great work and here's hoping you're still around for many years to come!

Went into store to get some advice unfortunately though they didn't have what I wanted in stock they showed me on the website what I needed, so I have purchased online now. Picking up in the store as it's free and next day delivery, it also means I can have a nose at the TVs as I'm thinking of changing mine and they always have a great selection!!

My printer was in error mode, I tried to get one online but it would take a minimum of two days so I just went to the store. Very helpful man on help desk, got a replacement no trouble and paid just £10 for a no quibble replacement service for 3 years. Very pleased....just can't get the printer to talk to my laptop...but that can wait till tomorrow.

I have had to return to the shop to purchase required products due to being misinformed about many things especially in the Carphone Warehouse section. Don't expect to walk away with a laptop, no stock, several models on display can't be bought online either, so pretty pointless having them on display. I realise this is made worse by Covid, but we had the same problem last year getting one for our daughter for uni well before the pandemic. We just used them as a showroom to get an idea of what is out there, then order online from them or others.

The guy in electricals was very helpful with the laptops & periferals I was interested in & told me a workaround for the issue on my old laptop. However, I waited to speak to one of the tech support staff & twice other people were served before me, even though I was clearly disabled and on crutches. When I was finally seen, there were no real techie people there as they were all on lunch at the same time & the guy I spoke to didn't have a clue about the issue with my laptop & suggested I sit & wait until one of the others got back. I left totally unsatisfied with tech support but happy with service staff

Just been into Gloucester Currys for support for a product that we brought before Christmas that we could not get to work. What amazing customer service and help we had. Joe on the CCTV helped us more than what any shop assistant could ever do. He then went to Technical Services in the store, where a Lady (who we did not get a name) and Brendon, again helped and advised us what the next steps were. We would just like to thank Currys and the 3 people for being so polite and with outstanding services. Nice sized store with pretty much everything electrical you need for the home. Easy location and large carpark, the prices are very competitive too. It's nice to be able to browse and handle what you are buying, and know the price is the same or not far off an internet retailer. Everytime I have reserved online, it's always ready to collect.

The service was commensurate with a busy store, hurried a little off hand but nothing major, would I want to go back ? No not really certainly not on a Saturday afternoon. The store was well laid out, airey and car parking reasonable, product selection good, clean and tidy.

The Good: + huge shop, wide range of devices on display + ample parking The Bad: - not very knowledgeable staff (below of what can be googled) - a lot of the cameras were just dummies (ridiculous) - long wait before members of staff offer help A huge shop with not so knowledgeable assistants, displaying dummy devices. May be good for shoppers with very basic requirements. Otherwise has no advantages over shopping online.

Large store stocking a wider variety of the usual - fridges, freezers, Hoover's, TVs, computer and laptops + accessories. Plenty of parking, even when it's busy. Prices can be competitive on some items and OTT for others, as is the way in this internet driven age. Biggest complaint is the service at the tills....I don't think I've ever had a nice, smiley, person serve me at the till here or even a nice experience, the central queue set up doesn't help and the lack of customer action by those bimbling around behind the counter just adds to the confusion.

Helpful staff, though there stock levels on their own system and online are often wrong. So if it states they have 1 or 2 items left in stock don't be surprised if they actually have none or they themselves can't find the stock. Has happened to me on half a dozen occasions now.

This is the biggest Curry's PC world I've ever been to. If you are after some sort of electrical goods there is a good chance they will have it here. It's full of staff who seem very willing to help although I did not ask for any so wouldn't like to comment on how knowledgeable they were.

I can say normally I would not review, I have been to Currys quite a few times, I have to wait until a assistant, then the entire process just takes a long time, BUT this time I met a awesome chap called Ryan, he was chirpy, knowledge and really nice in general, I wish I could have Ryan whenever I go to Currys in gloucester ( eastern avenue) thank you Ryan for your brilliant customer service.
