Paul was extremely helpful. He quickly confirmed my very old laptop was not able to be upgraded (as I very much expected) and pointed out several second hand ones at different price points from their extensive range of used models. I took photos of their (clearly labelled) respective specifications so I could check what would suit me best with my knowledgeable friend before purchasing one. Fantastic friendly service given on a Saturday morning when my father-in-law's ancient Windows 7 laptop crashed. Not only was it promptly restored to its previous sluggish glory, but he was also able to upgrade it to a nearly new Windows 10 laptop (and have all of his previous files uploaded onto it) for a fraction of what it would have cost elsewhere. Paul is clearly a man who knows what he is doing, but doesn't try to rip you off in the process. Even my father-in-law was impressed !! Thank you.

I had a problem with my laptop today and went to Peckhams for advice. Paul was really helpful. He identified the issue straight away and told me exactly what I needed to do. No fuss, no issues, just excellent service. I'd totally recommend them.

I had a very old Dell laptop on which the hard drive had failed. They fitted a new one whilst I waited in the shop...with good rock music on...and did all my file transfers and setup. The laptop now starts up in seconds...fantastic job and reasonable price. I will use them for anything else in the future and have recommended to all my friends and family.

I bought my laptop here, although mine was 2nd hand, i have no problem at all. Prices are cheap, the owner is very kind as well as the staff. I suggested this store with my friends and they bought their netbooks here as well, there are also brand new PCs. Highly recommended for those wanting to buy quality laptops, computers and pc accessories but in an affordable price. Kudos!

Great service. Replaced my broken laptop screen within the hour, had to wait whilst he found one that fit but I didn't mind. It's immaculate and working perfectly for £40!! Really grateful that he took the time to find one. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I dropped my laptop at work this morning and the screen was blank. I took it to Peckham's and Paul diagnosed the problem as a loose memory card. He sorted it in ten minutes and charged me a tenner. I was so relieved I offered £20 but Paul said he only wanted to charge for the work that he did. So I bought a £15 memory stick to show my appreciation. I cannot recommend Peckhams enough. Quick, reliable and honest.

I highly recommend Peckhams, my laptop was desperately needing replacing so I started searching online for the best place to buy a new one, and after looking through all the expensive ones or bad reviewed websites, I came across here, first thing I noticed was the fabulous reviews and he was local So I sent him an email explaining what I needed and he replied out of his business hours and told me exactly what he had and what's the best for me, I paid the same day and it was delivered for free THE SAME DAY! My new laptop is amazing and works perfectly for what I need it to do I cant get off it! He also repaired something on my mums laptop for free, we really did receive a friendly and professional experience with them, so thank you so much we will tell our friends! Jessica.

I contacted Peckhams with an enquiry about selling my damaged laptop for parts, as I had been quoted almost the laptops original value by other retailers to repair it. Paul was straight forward and honest with me, helping me to source and replace the damaged parts quickly and efficiently. Had very a pleasant visit to this shop today. A small start up problem with my laptop was fixed without charge even though it took half an hour as I had been a customer in the past. Very helpful tips and advice given freely by the business owner who is an experienced expert in his field. These people are genuine sales and aftercare providers not the usual box movers. Took my desktop computer in with an unidentified problem. Paul spent the best part of 40 minutes trying to track down the problem by swapping components before eventually concluding it was the motherboard. As Paul didn't have a replacement in stock he didn't charge me a penny for his time as the problem hadn't been fixed. He then gave me advice on upgrading my old processor based on my computer usage. A really positive experience, can't recommend him highly enough.

Bought a laptop from here, didn't realise the BIOS was locked with a password. The owner explained the situation, it's not really a problem and doesn't stop you updating or using the laptop. He even offered to install any other software or operating system for free. Unfortunately we had already purchased a slightly newer, but more expensive laptop, so he refunded our original purchase in full. Very helpful, all good.

I had two poor performing lap tops which national companies could not sort. Peckhams were excellent in diagnosing and repairing them. They reset them and they now work very effriciently. The service Peckhams provided was excellent and at a reasonable price. I would recommend them highly.

Went to peckhams for an old cpu fan to fix a pc for my son did not have high hopes as their old parts but was given 2 used fans for free. Great honest guy to give them for free although I offered and was expecting to pay. Pc works great now thank you.

Fantastic service, highly recommend.

Went to the shop to buy components for a gaming computer and I was helped the whole way through. Paul helped me pick the components and even built the PC for me for only £25. When the motherboard we had purchased wasn't compatible with the rest of the machine, he bought a better one (at his own expense!) to make it work. The shop also offers free servicing once a year on your PC and assistance should it break down. I most definitely will be going here again, thank you Paul!

I had a problem with my laptop. I knew exactly what was wrong with it and how to fix it but was too busy to sort it out myself. [At first all I said it wouldn't turn on] he didn't even want to look at the laptop, but told me it had burnt out and was useless. (**without seeing it first** it was an immediate answer) As soon as I mentioned that the thermal paste needed replacing he confirmed it as been "overheated" but he was willing to take it for scrap (He said he wouldn't buy it for the parts as they wouldn't be useful). I said no and fixed it at home myself. It has worked perfectly for a long time now and still works today with no overheating at all. (for over 6 years. This post was made over a year after my experience). He never said "If you had been inside the machine yourself we would not look at it" (I didn't need to get inside the laptop directly to find out as the paste had already broke apart and when it dried again it came out in small piece of the vents directly below this is when I looked it up online which confirmed it was the paste that had melted and probably because of a hard knock it caused air to get in between. It was a very hot day, I was stupid to do some heavy projects that heated up the device a lot as well as the fact I accidentally hit the desk quite hard when I was picking something up that fell; this is when it stopped working. Opening just the bottom lid should not be any reason to refuse as this allows people to clean the laptop to keep out dust. There are no screws just a small flap to open a small section of the cover. I'd understand it if someone was to unscrew everything or replaced components inside such as the RAM or a HDD he also didn't know what model it was as the statement came before even showing the device which was in a unmarked bag in a standard brown box. There was no mention that he didn't have the parts either. The shop at the time was not busy. The model I have was not prune to overheating. Though this can be said to any band/model. HP being the worse but my laptop wasn't a HP and not that prune (I have a another that is a HP, the fan doesn't work but it never overheats amazingly. I've never opened it up. I use £1 base fan from Poundland with it). It only happened because the inside temperature (my room) and on a very hot day was too high and the laptop was running heavy tasks. I'd already had it for just over 3 years at the time. Many devices automatically shutdown to prevent and protect against overheating. The laptop does give warnings it'll shutdown if it gets higher than 80 but most of the time it's around 40 and it's limited to 70 where it'll throttle processing so it can prevent it from going higher which in turn makes things lag on the computer. When doing it myself, I found that paste for the GPU was just fine and didn't need replacing (until I removed the heat sink which cracked it a little but it was all there). Only the part where the CPU was had very little paste on and had gaps. I know which was which because it had the names written on both of them along with serial numbers and model.
