Great store great service I only went in to look at a pair of speakers to upgrade to in the future They let me listen with no pressure and although I did not buy them there I did purchase them at a sister store. I went back and talked through other options and to date have bought an Audiolab 6000A which is fantastic and the CD Transport that is in the same range fantastic pieces of kit. The service is so good that I am writing this review whilst listening to a Project Carbon which will be the last part of my system for a while. If I could give six stars I would !!!!! This was the Swiss Cottage branch can’t comment about the others but why go elsewhere.

I visited the Holborn store last weekend looking for solutions to improve my DAC and streaming system. The staff (Stevyn) was particularly friendly, helpful and informative while guiding me through the different options (he explained as something I was looking into would be a downgrade from my current system and suggested four different solutions at different price ranges, clearly highlighting the benefits / downsides of each). Thanks again for your politeness and support, I never felt pressured to make a purchase and was given plenty of time to think and decide. I will definitely come back for more.

After flying in from South America, I went straight to the store and was very pleased by the extremely-helpful staff and the selection of goodies. Dealt with this branch remotely during the covid lockdown. They were very helpful and knowledgeable indeed in describing the condition of some ex-demo speakers and kept me updated on the delivery. An excellent service during trying times for retail, ignore the negative reviews, this branch provides excellent service.

Andy and the team were very helpful in arranging demo sessions for me new hifi purchase. They let me come in several times to demo different speakers and amplifiers and were helpful and informative while also letting me have some time alone to listen. Would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for some new hifi gear.

They’ve been absolutely fantastic. Not only in recommending the right products but also installing them to work with an existing system. The result is absolutely astonishing. Really don't understand the negative feedbacks here. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Steve, the consultant I was talking to, was very knowledgeable, suggested multiple options regarding my relatively budget stereo system, sold nice cable with a good discount. He also offered to arrange a listening session in a convenient time. Definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in Hi-Fi !

Bought some headphones here 1 year and 8 months ago. Unfortunately the headphones stopped charging, rendering them almost useless. Even though I currently live in Amsterdam, after I contacted the store they sent me a new pair and I couldn't be happier with it!

Cannot recommend Steve and Andy highly enough! Having visited a few 'so called' expert AV retailers locally and found them to be aloof and disinterested in helping me find the right solution for a barn conversion home cinema it was a pleasure to meet Steve and Andy and finally get the straight talking advice I was after. After exchanging a few emails I arrived on a Saurday morning and spent a very enjoyable few hours listening to different music and movies on a range of kit. Steve had everything on my wish list ready to listen to before I arrived! Nothing was too much trouble and I felt genuinely valued as a customer. I placed an order but the excellent customer service didn't end there. I got a call first thing on the Monday to check Sony had contacted me with a delivery date. Two days later Steve phoned to say they had all the kit I had ordered in and when would it be convenient for them to arrange delivery. Everything arrived exactly as ordered on the date and time agreed. Steve then called a few days later to see how I was getting on and whether I had any questions or needed any help. SSV Holborn is a real find. No hard sell, genuinely interested, highly knowledgable and friendly staff who don't talk down to you and are interested in keeping customers for the long term not just for one purchase. If like me you find AV confusing and the huge range of options daunting and overwhelming I strongly recommend you pop in and see the guys here for a coffee and a chat. I had been putting off shopping for new AV kit as I was frankly dreading trying to get the answers I needed to make an informed choice after being well and truly given the brush-off by a well known retailer in New North Rd in Islington. I am truly delighted with everything Steve and Andy helped me choose, especially the monitor audio silver 200s. Absolutely awesome speakers. Thanks guys for all your help!

I don't really understand the few poor reviews on Google. I have spent tens of thousands of pounds here over the years and my observations include - a) staff steering me away from more expensive products when there are cheaper, better options b) 100% reliability with their promises and c) 100% flexibility when doing listening auditions etc. Expert staff who, in my experience, care more about keeping their customers onside than inflating a sale. Absolutely rare in the hifi world and absolutely the reason that I don't bother with anyone else anymore.

I couldn't rate Sevenoaks Sound and Vision more highly: I described my issue over the phone, they were helpful then and even took the trouble to come and look: in the end, they simply detangled my amp and made it work with speed and charm. I will absolutely use them again.

Bought a Naim streamer, carried it back to my home on the other side of the world (Thailand). Then had difficulties connecting. Most shops would have taken advantage of the distance but Andy has been an absolute star. Preparing wiring charts and walking me through the whole process until I was up and running. Even during UK holiday weekends! I'm so glad I bought gear from these folks and have no hesitation recommending others to do the same.

Andy is just brilliant! I bought some Dynaudio Emit m10's, which are jaw dropping-ly superb, straight out of the box even! I am in awe of the sound. Just as superb though, is Andy's customer service, he went above and beyond, in a difficult situation. Sometimes things don't go as planned, and it's then that you find out just how good at your job you can be, Andy excelled, and made a bad situation a very happy one. On a personal note, he treated me better than some of my friends even do! Thank you Andy! Dear, Sevenoaks, please look after him, and don't you dare ever let him go, he is a huge asset to your company!

These guys are amazing. I have bought equipment for myself and for a friend here and, even though they don't stock some of brands that I might have been interested in, I couldn't bring myself to go anywhere else, so good is the service. These guys don't fawn, but they are really interested in your journey. They go the extra mile, they tote big speakers, even when you are asking to make the comparison for the second time. They are passionate about music, and it shows. If you don't understand something, they inform you without that irritating smile of patronising condescension that some hi-fi gurus have. They are genuinely helpful and love what they do. And they have Naim. What's not to like? They have just introduced me to Chord Ethernet cables - a wonderfully cost-effective upgrade (cable deniers need not contact me, just Google 'hearing test'). One of the great pleasures of my life is wandering into this shop...
