Amazing service - had an issue with my laptop not registering when I plugged in a second screen and they took such good care, spent ages diagnosing the problem which took a while, and managed to get it working within a day, only charged me £10 on top of the hardware that needing buying for the time they spent finding a solution. Friendly, efficient service, really went above and beyond and even offered to lend me a keyboard from the shop to plug in, while mine was repaired. They fixed my laptop kepboard, which I had spilt tea all over and broken several keys. Only charged £40 and was able to collect the next day. I have been in here often for new chargers etc as I live locally and they never try to upsell me a more expensive piece of kit.

I already brought my old Acer a couple of years ago and the guys replaced my hard drive. This time (as well due to buy another laptop), my hard drive was ticking like a bomb. It was pretty much the end of it. I brought it to Stamford Hill computers and one of the guys working there put a brand new SSD. Even though this will become my backup laptop now it work faster and properly. Hopefully they will be able to retrieve all my files and music recordings from the previous hard drive. That would be so priceless if they can make it happen! Great customer service and sense of humor :)

I tried to fix my 10 year old Samsung TV volume control which was 'stuck' and tried all the advice techniques on various forums without success and presumed I would need a new volume control 'switch'. I wasn't sure if a computer shop would deal with TV's but I brought it along and I was expecting to need to open up the back of the TV etc but all it needed was an alcohol spray on the TV volume control to release any dust that was probably causing the 'sticking' and it is working fine. A speedy, honest service and I had to force the shopkeeper to take some money for his services . ..rare these days .

Should've come here years ago. Had been aware that my computer fan needed a clean for a couple of years. I determined to clean it myself, never got round to it and it got worse and worse. Took it in to Stamford Hill Computers and their friendly helpful staff had the fan cleaned and oiled in less than 24 hours. My laptop is now much quieter and cooler. Reasonable pricing too.

I bought my laptop a few years ago from Stamford Hill Computers. They gave me excellent advice about what is most suited to my needs. I am still using it and it's fine. I went back to the shop several times(the last time was this afternoon) regarding renewing the virus checker, new software and technical advice. I would highly recommend. I took my laptop here at my wits end and they had it fixed within a couple of days at a better price then I'd been quoted elsewhere. Best in the area! Macbook charger wasn’t working so I went to a nearby one, they tested it and were going to charge me £40 for another. I tried to this shop instead and he tested it and realised it was just rusting on the plug, scraped it off and got it working again for free! Amazing

And an update: Another problem, a conundrum of screen/PC interface; but they didn't let go till they'd solved it. Sensible, treat customers as humans and good value. Added to ..... This is where I go with computer problems and I always get a great, friendly service. Just today they quickly and cheaply fixed a Linux PC, which is a bit specialised, and were keen to let me know how I could correct it myself if the same thing happened again. The time before that was when I bought the wrong part on the web. I discussed it with them and they immediately put me to rights. It's a fantastic local business.

These guys were great! Really quick and friendly service, they seemed honest about my computer's problems and didn't try and rip me off like other places have in the past. I traded in an old laptop that no longer worked for parts with them and in turn they knocked a load of the price of the repairs so it all ended up quite cheap. They also gave me a new UK adapter (previously I had a US one) without me even asking which was so kind. They went above and beyond which I've never experienced before in a computer repairs shop. Really great place offering honest advice! Took my laptop in as the earphone jack had been snapped in half. Rather then repair my motherboard at a more expensive price they suggested I purchase a USB sound card for £9.99 which has solved the issue. Can't recommend them highly enough as it's so difficult to find a reputable computer repair company like these guys are.

I popped in to see if I could get a second hand battery for an ancient MacBook - just so that it doesn't die the second the mains power is disconnected - and the owner of this place delved around and found one, checked as far as possible that the battery was OK, and let me have it for a very reasonable price. I went in yesterday to get my computer fixed at Stamford Hill Computers, the engineer wasn't in as he was out for lunch but i was able to just leave the computer there with my name and number. I got a call back later that day with them explaining what the problem was and what needs to be done. I picked my computer up the next day, my 4 year old Mac is now working as if its brand new. Not only was it only £110 pounds to get my computer completely fixed (re-installed a new and larger harddrive+missing part) but i inadvertently left my phone on the counter and they kept it for me when i came back for it panicked and out of breath. Great service, really friendly and honest staff.

I recently needed my mac book pro repaired, It had fallen dead and no longer started-up. I took it to SHC and was surprised at the speed and diagnostic capabilities of the engineer, he ended up rebuilding my laptop the same day but most importantly they are very honest, trust worthy and friendly, giving the reasons for what went wrong and how to prevent it in the future. And last but not least the price was more than fair to say in the least. I strongly recommend SHC for all computer problems, I know i will be using them for the foreseeable future.

My Apple macbook stopped working. Took it to apple authorised workshop. Was quoted £350 for hard disk replacement. This old macbook is only worth £400 or may be a bit more but for sure not worth paying £350 for repair. I was desperate for all my pictures and documents and £350 repair quote did not include any attempts to recover my data. Called these guys in Stoke Newington and they offered me to have a look at it for free. They took my old hard disk out and recovered all my files. Then they offered me options to either repair the computer with old hard disk which is not completely dead but is failing or a new larger capacity hard disk. I was worried about the cost and didn't want to have surprises. They told me that new Hard disk will cost £55. Repair charges including Data recovery will be £100. I could not believe that for £155 I will have brand new hard disk fitted and all my data recovered. Agreed with a bit of scepticism. Next day they called me and told that my macbook ready for collection. After finishing work in the evening went there and was pleased to see everything done as promised. What ever they have done my computer works much better now as they explained that new hard disk has no junk on it, that I had collected over the years of internet surfing. Therefore it works like brand new Computer. Strongly recommended

Help...my computer has crashed! Yet another operating system..yet a new laptop, tablet, mobile...pant pant pant...how can I keep connected? All you need is a good GP and Stamford Computers. This is a really helpful independent Computer Store/Service that feels your computer 'pulse' and offers you what you need not what the big corporations think would be good for business. No hard sell...helpful advice...reliable...very reasonable and fair charges...and if you get fed up with talking about Kbps per second (and there aren't people waiting) try talking about philosophy or politics...the best place to keep you connected!!!
