I can’t praise Fix Computers highly enough. Took a VERY slow laptop in, with more than just basic malware/virus issues. My laptop is now so fast, it’s genuinely considerably faster than it was new, thanks to new SSD hard drive. Everything is instant! To top it all off Harvey was great. He took the time to explain everything in detailed and more importantly a more simplified way for me to understand, he couldn’t have be more helpful and patient. Excellent turnover time. Laptop has been slow for months and begging for help. Finally it crashed and spat me out with a blurry nonresponsive login screen. Harvey managed to get in, assess all the issues and fix the corrupt windows. Whilst we're at it He replaced to an SSD hardrive. It's now as good as new and ready for another 2 years of good use. Much more affordable than having to buy a new laptop. I'd say affordable professional service with honest updates.

I contacted Fix Computers after my PC was water damaged. A speedy diagnosis was made and parts were recommended to order as replacements. The PC was then reassembled with the new parts within 24 hours (Motherboard, Ram, Processor). I was walked through all the changes made and sent off with my PC. Now up and running at home perfectly. Excellent service, thanks. Very reasonable price and I would thoroughly recommend Harvey to other users. I used Harvey 5+ years ago when my laptop had a virus and he managed to sort things out quickly and successfully so, just recently, when I spilt a large mug of red hot tea all over my current laptop I quickly got on the phone to him once again. He was very calm and reassuring over the phone and made some good suggestions that I had not thought of in my panic. Whilst he is happy to collect items, I wanted to get the laptop to him without delay, so I drove around to his home and dropped it off. He clearly explained to me the potential problems and provided me with a very reasonably priced quote which I readily accepted. He noted that the charge would be about 50% of the repair price if the laptop could not be repaired, which I also think is reasonable as you obviously have to pay for his time and expertise. He also gave me an indication of the cost of any parts likely to have been damaged, but advised that he would give me an update before any decisions are made. Thankfully, within 48 hours, Harvey had rescued the laptop and completed the repair. No parts were needed, not even a new keyboard, and the laptop is now working as it was previously, without the drama of me having to recover lost data and/or having to fork out to replace a damaged machine. Overall, I am very relieved, but also very grateful to Harvey for helping me out and getting me back up and running. Many thanks once again!

My PC wouldn't start up so I took it to Harvey to have a look at it. Left it with him and he kept in touch with regular updates, unfortunately the hard drive was completely ruined which meant the job was quite an expensive one but this was unavoidable and I think the price was fair. We tried the place I originally bought the laptop and they were unbelievably rude and unhelpful (not what you expect from a big chain). I was originally going to contact PC World because they're well known and in truth, I knew nothing about Harvey. But after reading the reviews, realising that all these reviews couldn't be from his mates! I decided to take a risk. Thank goodness I went with my gut feeling. I was welcomed with a big smile as he quickly took a look at my laptop and told me what was wrong. My Toshiba had no internet access on both wireless and Local Area Network (even when the cable was connected)! On the third day, I finally accepted that it wasn't going to magically reappear, so I searched for 'computer technician in Manchester' off Google on my phone and Fix Computers was right at the top! Simple webpage, right on point, I didn't check any reviews and called them anyway. Right away Harvey was courteous; assured me he could fix-it and true to his word, not only are the Network Adapters fixed, the whole operating system was cleaned and boosted...its faster now, and he installed extra stuff to continue cleaning the system. I'm using it for this review days after Harvey fixed it, and it's still performing just as new. Its like having a brand-new computer all-over again! Very professional service at an affordable price especially on a student budget. I particularly like that he explains IT-stuff in a non-technical way. This will be Harvey's 50th 5 star review (from 50 reviews!), and from my experience it's well earned. Had some issues with my laptop's hard drive and feared massive data losses, rang around the houses and was quoted from £150 to £600 to get it fixed, and even some companies saying the hard drive was finished, don't bother trying! Harvey managed to recover all 192gb of my data in just under 24 hours and even got the hard drive up and running again for less than half of the lowest quote elsewhere. Excellent!

I have had a problem with a sticky keyboard for almost five months now due to a friend spilling lemonade on the keyboard. A techy friend told me simply to buy a replacement keyboard and he would be able to fit it "No problem". When he went to fit it however he discovered that Samsung had made the keyboard very hard to access and that it was above his expertise, so was going to be a very hard job that required disassembling my entire laptop! I spoke to numerous repair shops and £50-£80 was what I was quoted by the majority, Harvey got back to me very quickly (even on a Sunday) at a much cheaper price. I dropped off the laptop and also asked for Harvey to speed it up for me as well, less than 24hours later it was fixed, even though there had been numerous complications with the keyboard. My laptop is now fixed and running faster, the service was excellent and I will definitely be using Harvey again, I can't recommend him enough!

When I phoned up Harvey I was sure I was calling in vein as my water bottle had spilled all over my laptop and I had tried to turn it on twice.... Which is usually a death sentence for electronics. He advised me how to drive it and offered to take in the laptop that day. Hard drive was giving me problems, contacted these guys to change it for an ssd. They installed a samsung 850 evo (very reliable and fast model) and charged me retail price for the part, and not much more for the install. I had a Netbook Acer that was 4 years old, there was a virus on it coming up with a blue error screen. Harvey cleaned out the system, he also put a free anti-virus for one year, also added other anti-virus programs that speed up the laptops performance. He did all this within three days. Harvey also offered to install a RAM chip if I needed to free of charge. All this was for £60. Best price I could find locally within Wythensahwe.

It's not often that you find a service that you genuinely want to recommend to all your friends and family- but here is one! Okay the main thing is my computer got fixed quickly at a really reasonable price, and I know that I wasn't being ripped off on parts as we ordered it on ebay right there and then. But the reason for my 5 star review is because Harvey goes above and beyond the call of duty- he was a really friendly, trustworthy guy, who explained everything in detail to me about the problem and the way to fix it- so generous with his time. His enthusiasm for all things computer is infectious, and he inspired me to develop my own web presence with lots of really useful tips. To top it all off, he couldn't resist tuning up my PC so that it runs faster and more effectively, and showed me the quick way to use the anti-virus and clean-up programmes (nothing dodgy- just Avast, CCleaner, Revo and DiskDefrag) he kindly installed for me, so that I can maintain a happy PC. I will always use Fix Computers in the future- and would recommend them without hesitation. I'd also add that for me it's really important to support local businesses and here is a shining example of one right on our doorstep!

Accidentaly spilled a full glass of water on my laptop and the keyboard wasn't working anymore. Well where do I start in praising the service I have just received? My lap top had completely died and I was at the possible mercy of somewhere like Pc world!! Lucky for me I was passed the number by a friend for fix computers. Fix it he did, he was quick(my laptop was only gone 1 night) and brought it back to me for an extra nominal fee which saved me loads of hassle as I dont drive. The lap top was up and running again and I could continue to work, he had kitted it out with everything I need to prevent future problems! and above all the fee was in my eyes super reasonable considering what some out there are charging.. DON'T PANIC ring fix computers!!
