Needed to visit this store to complete a Currys trade in on a old phone with a promotion on.
I initially read the reviews and thought oh god they probably won't want too help me with this as its a little time consuming.
I was completely wrong. The service received was to a very high standard which to be honest I wasn't expecting from the reviews shown.
When walking into the store to a staff member near the door greeted me and was more than happy to help with my query, friendly and professionally he checked store stock for me and unfortunately it wasn't available within Currys themselves, but offered delivery (Next day) and then also went out of his way to ask the Carphone Warehouse in-store staff if they could process it. Luckily enough they had stock in-store and allowed the trade in to be processed. The second staff member who dealt with the trade in, again very friendly and professional, really high standards of Customer service, the whole trade in process quick and simple! Top service.

Had a fantastic experience buying an oven in this store - Izzy, the customer assistant, was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help my partner and I, listening to our requirements and budget and helping us make an informed decision. She was absolutely brilliant and helped two usually really indecisive shoppers leave the store completely confident in our purchase. We'll definitely be shopping there again!

I wanted to buy a TV.
On previous visits to other Currys I've been very unimpressed by the "children" being employed in the TV department. I can't say working because they were just there, chatting about football, gaming and other stuff. They weren't at all interested in customer service!
Then I went to Currys Plymouth where I met Daryl.
Daryl is a TV nut! He knows everything about TVs.
He is also a very good salesperson and whilst I didn't buy a TV "on the day", I did buy a TV later, recommended by Daryl.
So, if you want a TV just go straight to Currys Plymouth and ask for Daryl. He will give you good advice and make sure that you purchase the right TV for your needs.

Similar to other reviews, a great place to see what you are buying in the flesh. However I got stuck could not buy a TV for 30min as no available 'seller's ' but there appeared to be alot of staff tellu g me one would come in a minute. Don't get the reason for that myself.

So, my laptop died just a couple days before my masters dissertation deadline, thinking I’d lost a fair chunk of the work, I ventured to curry’s as the last glimmer of hope. Upon entering, I was directed towards a fabled man named Liam. Fearing the worst, I told Liam of my problems, and handed him my laptop. Within minutes, the mighty Liam worked his magic, and saved my dissertation. Thank you Liam.

I visited my local store in Plymouth and had the best experience. Joe assisted me in finding the right fridge freezer and washing machine. He was very helpful and i purchased both items at a competitive price. Joe enquired if I had my broadband sorted as I am in the process of moving house. His colleague Selina assisted in this matter. Went there the other day to look at kitchen appliances, there was only one assistant in the whole of the top floor with at least 6 couples waiting. Not good, went down to customer services and whilst waiting in the queue an assistant completely ignored us and pushed another customer ahead of us in the queue. We were not happy. Once he realised what he had done when we spoke up he apologized but his attitude when doing so was not sympathetic and quite aggressive. This needs addressing as it was very disrespectful.

Unfortunately my experience was poor. I wanted a cheap printer but everything I looked at was out of stock. In the end I had to pull the guy away from the till and send him into the stock room to actually find one I could buy. A ten minute quick trip turned into a half hour nightmare. Hopefully when normal supplies return this will not be a problem, for now though prepare to be frustrated.

I came here to buy a TV.. the sales person basically was not that invested.. half the TVs i wanted to look at in the size I wanted on display were not turned on and he made no effort to do something about it. So frustratingly I walked out empty handed. Thankfully i went to a competitors store the following day & received a completely different experience with someone who actually wanted to go out of his way to make sure I got what I was looking for and yes I ended up with a great TV, fit for purpose. So if I do go back to this Currys it will be for something as a convenience, where I dont need any assistance from a sales person.

The staff are very helpful. I had to return a faulty toaster but I'd lost the receipt, it was no trouble for the friendly guy on Customer Services to track the date of the purchase down and replace the faulty item. A million miles away from the treatment you receive from the Customer Services in another large retailer in Plymouth (motto 'no receipt - no exchange... even with faulty goods!), mentioning no names!

They where really helpful when we told them about our washing machine breaking down and sort of thing we needed urgently and they took us to two machines right away that would do the job and then some. We where given some information about the machines however I do think we could have done with a little bit more as we read a bit more about them online and found out that there was more to them than what we originally bought which was a plus.

If you are looking for a new TV this is the place to go. There's not many places where you can see so many TVs on display so you can really get a good idea of what is available, quality etc. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are happy to explain in detail and answer any queries.

Currys usually my go to place when I need certain household items. Always well laid out and not hard to find what your looking for. A great selection of items from various brands. From the lower price range to the more expensive. Depending on your needs and budget. And if your unsure of what your looking for. They have a great team of staff who are very helpful and very knowledgable. Where I'm concerned I know little about technology but they always put me at ease and explain in my terms what the items contain. For that in grateful. If you need these household items make this your first place to visit.

Had a query about my laptop repair. Went to the PC World store. Had lots of help from an assistant lady named Enya in trying to get through to the tech team. No joy. Quite busy. Was given a number to contact tech team directly from home. Spoke to a chap named Gary, who got things sorted in quick time. Never had a problem in any way with PC World staff. Always polite, friendly, informative and helpful staff. For me. That's impressive.

Had an issue with my son's laptop. We took it in to the store to be greeted by a lovely gentleman on the door who pointed us in the right direction. We waited at customer services and was served by a lady called Sam.
She was very helpful and booked our laptop in to be fixed.
Unfortunately it took a bit longer than expected due to waiting on a spare part but Sam called a week later to inform us and kept me and my son up to date. When we came to collect another lady served us with a big smile and explained what they had done at the repair, think her name began with a 'P'.

Would have gave no stars but the gent at the front was polite in his greeting, all down hill from there . Absolutely horrible service. Went into the store and was told ovens are upstairs. Go up there to see an older lady talking on her mobile. I waited patiently by ovens for one of the other staff to become free as they were both busy. A young lad at least looked over and said he wouldn't be long and would help when he was free. After ten minutes of waiting I approached the older lady and asked for help. She said certainly and followed me over. I told her want I wanted and was told to go home and look on the website! She was so rude and blunt, didn't give me any advice or help (that's why I had gone into the shop) just said that you didn't do gas built in ovens and I'd have to do it myself. I saw her name badge and it said Ann so maybe she needs some lessons in customer service! Went home and came back the following day, to my delight she wasn't in! I was helped by a guy who's name was Firki (I think) he was so helpful looked online for me and even offered to print off all the paperwork and details. The three stars are for him and the guy at the door. Glad you have some members of staff who are willing to help but I won't be in a rush to come back!

Really bad service. I wanted to look at the Garmin watches. I got told they were only trained it that area and couldn't help me. I explained I just wanted to have a look at two watches to try the sizes before buying and just got dismissed. Would have ended up buying one or the other but ended up leaving and I will buy from somewhere else with better customer service.
Have had it followed up by customer services online and have to say that the team there were very friendly so hopefully more training will now be given.

All you would expect from a large Currys /PC World store. Chances are they will have what you want. Got good advice from staff but I don't like the way they try and get more £ out of you. Ok if you need something quickly, but nothing can come close to justifying the price of their cables. The 'essential' range seemed to be about 3x as expensive as other shops had to offer, and up to 6x the cost from online retailers.

P C World is the only place near me where I can try out a number of keyboards and such before buying. With RSI in my right arm, this is essential. So yesterday when I needed a new trackball I checked online then visited the store at Marsh Mills.
This store has just been refurbished and merged with Currys and Carphone Warehouse. The enormous, bright showroom for such a multitude of different items on sale gives it a 'department store' feel and one could spend hours there! The staff are very welcoming and try to help, but I could not help noticing they seemed slightly ill at ease with the new set-up - which I'm sure will soon disappear.
However it was the young lady at the main desk who really knew her stuff! Despite recovering from a broken wrist, she went to the trouble to search in the warehouse for the item I wanted. She was knowledgeable and nothing was any trouble. Five stars to her; one deducted from the overall review because they only had one trackball in stock despite their computer saying they had two.

I asked the assistant to get on the net and I identified what I wanted.
I was told they were not in stock.
I stood outside the store and began to place an order on my mobile phone which said they were in stock.
I went back in the store to be told there were six in stock.
It turned out that the model on display was not in stock but an identically named but cheaper model was in stock.

Went in to see customer services about a problem. Sylvia was brilliant. A HUGE pity was the system she has been given to work with its as much use as a chocolate fire guard. The call centre she had to contact was a joke, at best. She was given the wrong information and had to call back another number. Total time for the 2 calls, 68 minutes at PREMIUM rate! Left the premises problem not sorted and never want to deal with their customer service call centre again. Sylvia and her colleagues where brilliant. A pity they get zero support from above. If I had a £1 for everytime one of them apologised, I could of bought a vacuum cleaner!

It's a mixed bag to be honest with you, they have LOADS of stuff but customer service is all a bit weird, feels like going back to the nineties - no I don't need the excessively expensive USB restore stick (we bought a Chromebook FFS), no I don't need the £100 insurance (the Chromebook cost £250) "I'll do it for £90", no, "I'll give you a month free" I mean, do shoe shops still try to sell you polish? To be honest I do all of my shopping online, but my wife needed to see the two models of Chromebook to choose. We bought it there purely because it was the same price. Maybe everywhere is like this but I didn't feel confident in the advice my wife was getting and she kept desperately calling me over (whilst I tried to stop my over excited 3 year old from destroying everything) to check their advice. If you are over the age of 50 and suspicious of the internet then go PC world, if not save the stress and the fight - order online.

Went to pick up my Chromebook Series 3, The store was well kept and the staff had good characters however I seemed to know more about all the PCs and Laptops than the staff. Although I love technology they had to google/check on some statistics on the PCs I was looking at and also had never played around with the Chromebook before. The items on sale here normally offer good value for money. The shop is clean and well organised and there is ample free parking outside.
However, staff here, just aren't particularly helpful. There is often a long wait to speak to staff and they seem to be sales people rather than computer experts.
They regularly try to upsell customers, recommending software that is not needed.
There are better pc shops around.

This Currys PC World has everything you could want, from televisions, to ovens, to kettles to mobile phones. The store is well laid out making things easy to find. The brand tends to be priced in line with everywhere else but can and does do some fantastic offers. Worth a visit for any home electrical needs!

I've also found that it's usually quicker to go to the store and pick up what you want rather than do click and collect, as they don't tend to pick up the items into you get there anyway... Purchased an Epsom 3 in one printer, took the optional auto delivered ink jet refill package.
Epsom Envy was very easy to set up via blue tooth.
Epsom has worked very well without any issues, auto refill is received by post before running out of ink.
Ink jet automatically retracts and self cleans, so if not in regular use it does not clogg or block up.
Very good purchase price and auto refill cost.

Im an I.T. professional and although i don't use PC World as my main supply i do sometimes need the odd item quickly (e.g. a 4 port switch or in todays case a decent netbook) i find the store to be well stocked and clean and with staff that while not i.t. trained they are helpful, just don't expect too much accurate unbiased advice, after all they are sales people who are given sales targets and incentives on certain products so its unfair to judge on that part of their job.
Today i came away with a decent device running windows 8.1 which i will be using to dual boot linux for one of my offices (needed it today close to Christmas) i paid just £329 and couldn't be happier with the service.
I have also written a five star review about the PCworld/Currys mega store in torbay as they were both professional and informative and very apologetic about the que at a very busy time, the guy who served me smiled and assisted me with my reservation of a 24 inch monitor (again for an office last Christmas time) so for all the negative results here i would say people are less inclined to write when something good occurs because they think its normal, instead they write negative stuff out of anger when in fact they don't have the full picture or in some cases don't want to tell the full story.
I have seen public persons get angry with many people in the service industries and i find it vulgar, people in their work places deserve the same levels of decency as your family do at Christmas so think before writing something here and think about the company and the pressure they may place upon their employees.

A game of 2 halves. We went in to get info on a tablet, and specifically wanted a demo of the Nexus 7. The first guy we approached was monosyllabic and couldn't be bothered, even claiming that there was no wifi access so he couldn't demo anything. Instead of walking out and going to car phone warehouse around the corner we complained to a manager who produced a young guy who really knew his stuff. He gave us a great demo (there WAS wifi available) and he couldn't have been more helpful without being at all pushy. It's likely that we will be back to buy.
