In December, I purchased an iPhone 13 from the Oracle Apple store; however, the phone developed a minor defect in April, and the store offered me a replacement refurbished iPhone 13. I was OK with it till the same phone had camera issues!
I went to the store yesterday and expressed my concern to Ead who is the team lead . She was super friendly, understood my problem, and sent me to Ricky, another fantastic Genius Bar technician!
Ead and Ricky are both amazing people who offered me a fresh new iPhone 13. Aman, the sales guy, was even more gracious, providing a free £50 iPhone 13 cover!
These three team are true gems who are a valuable asset to the company. I honestly can't say enough good things about them. I am delighted! Thanks Apple!!

Not usually one to add a review but just wanted to say a massive thanks to Katherine (not sure on the spelling!) for being so kind and helpful earlier today! She took the time to explain various chargers/MagSafe accessories, and allowed me to try cases on the demo phones before committing to one.
Spent a good forty minutes chatting, and it was just nice to have a sales associate who was interested in have a conversation while shopping. Massive thanks and shoutout!!

Visited the Apple Store in Reading yesterday and was seen by a very helpful person called Shaq! He sorted my problem immediately after checking the problems I was having with my IPhone 6SE. Great efficient service and then passed me on to Katherine who again set up my new iphone. Both are a definite 5 stars category in my book, couldn’t have asked for a better service. Was also nice to speak to a person rather than an machine….. would fully recommend.

I have nothing to say other than words of praise towards the management and staff. There have been a number of different occasions when I needed help with various complicated queries and the staff at Apple were more than helpful. They have promptly responded to my queries and met my needs. I was astounded by the level of service received every single time. Also the store setup is Covid compliant and secure.

I've taken your advice about not relaying totally on mains power and using battery power instead from time to time. This has made a huge difference; my 10 year old MacBook is now working better than it has been for months.

Called to get an appointment for a replacement battery for my iPhone 6+. Unit taken in and told come back in an hour which I did only to be told do I want the bad news or good news. I chose the latter which was we have messed up the phone when de soldering the battery. The good news is we are offering you a brand new boxed phone for the original cost of battery replacement £25. They're doing the best despite the fact it's still social distancing. I went in to drop off my product as it was faulty and the service was excellent; everything was dealt with in about 15 minutes. (Also the store was nice and cool)

It was a mixed experience. The genius bar was not the best experience as we didn't feel that the technician want to help rather felt that he is a bit annoyed that we even came with the macbooks. However, later, the sales person was absolutely excellent. He took his time and tried his best to give us the best deal and made us feel welcomed and valued.

We went in whilst it was quiet, served by a nice friendly guy. But for some reason half way through the sale / process of transferring my girlfriends phone to her new one he was told to go do something else whilst we sat there with someone periodically coming to check we were ok. I'm not a fan of apple anyway as they are absolute thieves, £45 for a plastic an silicone case. £30 for a screen protector you can get off the internet for less than half the price. So the sales experience is where they should shine... Sadly let themselves down a bit.

Great staff, from whom I have always received brilliant service, even when the store has been crowded and the staff are stressed - a real credit to themselves really!!! - a real pity though their company can't do student discounts, nor can it continue the best products - ipod nano (7th gen) - doesn't need to connect to the internet - small enough to tuck into a pocket without being obvious. It's also been my lifeline and due to it being discontinued, as my current one is getting on a bit, when it goes, so does my lifeline (I get stressed easily, and being able to have easily available, ad free music, to just plug in and listen too really helps) - would like to see apple start producing them again - especially with the increasing backlash against constantly being connected to the internet.

Love the cleanliness of the store and the staff are extremely helpful and some are quite funny, which makes the whole experience better. I did find though that as they are usually quite busy, it’s kind of hard to find someone who is available to talk to, but you are never waiting to long as they tend to be with more than one person at once (depending on what the task is) we just went in to pick up a phone that we’d ordered online, so we didn’t need a lot of attention and help as we were just waiting for it to come down from upstairs. Would recommend going in and having a look at the actual products before buying online as seeing them in person does them a lot more justice.

Went in today to look into an I-Pad for use for my girlfriend for college. Weren't too sure what we needed but thanks to our allocated memeber of staff, Marcus we managed to find something very suitable with great savings too! Walked away very happy that we weren't pressured into any purchase and happy with all the knowledge and information imparted to us. Called this Monday am with a problem about my iPad. Store was very busy but the staff were coping well - despite one or two folk expecting instant solutions - and after a short wait a member of staff explained the procedure for getting the iPad looked at.
After about 90 minutes received a text informing me that my turn for a member of staff to look at the problem was coming up. Returned to the store and after about 15 minutes a very helpful staff member came up. Shak was his name and he was as helpful as possible, taking the machine away to see if there was a solution. In the end there wasn’t but I consider that Shak and the staff were both friendly, polite and helpful in a hectic environment.

Visited the store recently for an IPhone exchange, store is well equipped, quite ample, although it gets crowded easily given the layout. Plenty of staff members to help out but make sure to have time to spare even if you have an appointment as you will be waiting to be attended. Picked up a new iPhone for my wife this morning. There were delays due to systems failures but the staff dealth with the situation admirably. Harry was particularly good but all staff faced staff and customer frustration with a cheery yet professional demeanour. Great experience even with delays.

Staffs are professional, but it can be slow in terms of process. I made a multiple appointments at the same time slot for multiple devices repairs. I arrived on time, but i had to wait at least 10 mins before a member of staffs picking up my appointment and unfortunately he can only deal with one appointments. So I ended up talking to 2 different staffs at the same time. And they had to run through all sorts of diagnose and checks before contacting the repair room. I had 2x iPhone 6 for battery replacement - one can be done in the same day, and the other one has to be next day!! This is because it took them a further 20 mins to check before contacting the repair room and then it was too late to send 2nd phone in. Although the staff was friendly, the entire process and waiting time has let me done!

A very vibrant and convenient store with very helpful, attentive and knowledgeable staffs. The service is fast if you are purchasing a product but you have to make an appointment if you have an issue for repair or advice. This process may be fair but is cumbersome and you have sometime wait as most of the times they are late in calling you.

Brilliant service, couldn't ask for more !! After having some troubles with my ~5 year old laptop unexpectedly turning itself off, I did some diagnostics and reinstalled the OS but came to the conclusion it was a hardware issue.
I made an appointment to see if there was anything that could be done, but expecting it to be uneconomical to repair. Instead I was told that it was indeed a problem with the logic board, and that it would be repaired for free !!
Originally told it would be 10-14 days for the repair, I received a call 4 days later to say it was ready for collection. Im writing this on my newly repaired, good as new laptop. Brilliant service, will certainly be purchasing my next laptop from there too.

Unbelievably good service. Went into the store needing to get my MacBook fixed ASAP with imminent work deadlines. While I didn't have a genius bar appointment, they managed to squeeze me in when they had some free time (thank you BEN!!!!) Incredibly helpful, extremely patient and very friendly--it's the great products and the service like this that more than justifies the price of apple products. Outstanding Service. Brought in old 6S for the battery replacement programme and it was replaced same day with no issues. A week later and i brought my 3 year old Macbook Pro in for the reflective coating that was peeling off the screen and again fantastic service - screen replaced in 30 minutes. I was lucky enough to get Ken who was knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, cheerful and patient. And was able to offer many useful suggestions that will improve my Apple experience. Got my screen fixed for my I phone 6 here. The store is always extremely busy as you can expect from an Apple Store, therefore I always make sure if I have no appointment to go at 7.00 am and wait when the store opens. Lovely customer service and they fixed the phone in warranty, was very helpful and quick. For my MacBook Pro I came in as the hardrive gave up and I had extended warranty. Again very helpful staff but because I came in at work with no appointment, they were quick to tell me that there was no appointment for today. I waited for the next day and came again at 7.00am with no appointment and got it fixed within 1 hour. I think Apple with BMW are the 2 companies that really stick to the warranty promise and will exchange at the smallest issues. That's why I always chooses apple products!! They might be a bit more pricey but the customer service and the support is classes above Samsung and all the other rubbish..

I've updated with a better star rating because they sorted out my problem quickly when I got to the store, and were very helpful. They couldn't replace the faulty part that caused the problem as they don't stock that item, but Apple have sorted that out separately.
The comments below about the poor telephone system - and the tip of saying 'manager' - still stand.
Trying to call this store leaves you trapped in a labyrinth of telephone menus. It has an 0118 number but there's no option to speak to someone in the actual shop (as I needed to do to change a Genius bar appointment - which I couldn't do online as the website wasn't functioning). Instead you get directed to an awful centralised phone line which only allows speech recognition answers and keeps trying to direct you to Apple Care, for which there is a 10 minute wait. Why can't we just call someone in the actual store - and if we can't, why pretend it's a local phone number?
UPDATE: when I got through to Apple Care and told them I wanted to speak to someone in the store, they told me to call back and say 'Manager' when the automated voice asked me what I wanted. That worked.

My six-month old iMac developed a fault which meant that it would not start. I tried all the suggestions I found online and also the Apple telephone help desk but all failed.
I was eventually referred to my local store here in Reading so that they could try. After trying all the normal checks they admitted that it looked like a part had failed and agreed that as it was within warranty they would repair it FOC.
A week later I received an email to say they had replaced the Logic board and I could collect my now working computer. Since then no problems so other than the minor inconvenience of having to take it in and then collect it I am very happy with the service I received. The staff I spoke to were polite, helpful and very well informed
The repair would have cost over £500 so I am relieved it was within warranty!
Happy to recommend this store.

You are paying premium prices here and the retailer gets enormous margins so really there is the opportunity and cash to invest in the customer experience. Could do better!

A couple of weeks ago I went with my little sister to the Apple Store in Reading as her 3 week iPhone had stopped working.
We we so lucky to have been assigned an Australian chap called Aaron to help us - He was knowledgeable and within 2 minutes had worked out that the Main Board was faulty. I explained that the phone was only 3 weeks old, purchased from Vodafone and he advised me to go back to them and tell them of the fault and ask for a replacement. He even printed off a letter to advise Vodafone of the diagnostics he has performed and of the fault found. He said if I had an issues, to come back and they would do the repalcement for us, but why should we have a refurbed phone, when this was only 3 weeks old? A very good point.
Vodafone were less than helpful and sent me back to Apple. Upon my return to the store, I explained to a lady that Vodafone would not listen and asked if I could please speak with Aaron again as he had said they would replace the handset. The lady advised me that Aaron had gone to lunch so I would need to make another appointment or call the Vodafone Customer Service number - Which she googled for me.
As I was leaving the store, Aaron found me outside and said that he's had the situation explained to him - He again said that Apple could replace the handset but it would be a refurb phone, so he felt it would be better to go through Vodafone and get the brand new, fully functioning phone I had paid for! He didn't need to take time out of his lunch break to come a talk to me, or offer advice. The lady in the store didn't need to google a phone number for me. They went above and beyond and were amazing!

I wanted to update the Software on a discontinued Apple iPhone 5S for a family member– I went to the Apple Retail Store in Reading without an appointment and received immediate support using an easy, customer friendly understandable language.
Knowledgeable and engaging – The Apple Staff were eager to help and went the extra mile to back up my device and explain Family sharing and providing insights into the features of the new OS Update so that I became more proficient with the iPhone. I enjoyed the personal, trustworthy “no pressure to buy” interaction with several members of the Apple Team and can only contrast this with the lamentable customer service I received at Samsung in Broad Street Mall, Reading – when I enquired about a repair to my daughter’s Samsung Galaxy. “As the model is old it’s not worth repairing the glass – unsure if we can source a replacement best to upgrade your phone.” –planned deflection to make me part with my money-unfairly nudged to keep up with the latest Galaxy model.
At the Apple Retail Store it was excellent user experience and engagement from the start–As a business customer I have and wouldn’t hesitate to recommended Apple to all colleagues and friends and prospective technology customers. The perception Apple is expensive is not true – Quality, Simple and relevant design. Well Done Fin – Thank you for your help at the Apple Genius bar and enabling me to Update to the joys of iOS 11 far from the chaotic and intimidating retail experience I had with Samsung !

I needed to speak to people at Mac to try & sort a problem on my mac laptop but I kept putting it off after reading the reviews. I tried booking a slot online but I don't think this is even possible! I had to go to Reading today to get my car serviced so I popped into mac with my laptop on the off chance they might be able to help. After queuing for 5 mins (at 10am) they booked me a slot & said they'd text me. I heard back within 30 mins & within the hour my laptop was fixed (& iPhone screen that was broken). Very impressed after reading the crap reviews & would definitely go back. My advice would be to go early as I can imagine they get VERY busy!
