All the staff are friendly, approachable, polite and avoid using jargon. Their service was really efficient. While they confirmed that my laptop was beyond repair, their email explaining this was enough evidence for a successful claim with my insurer. So a huge thank you to York IT Services, it was definitely worthwhile going in for an assessment.

Totally recommend. Matt was very clear about the possible issues with my PC and explained in his emails what the options and likely costs were. As it happens the problem wasn't the worst/most costly of the two main possibilities and I had the PC back within 72 hours of leaving it with him. My PC stopped working. Normally I can fix such things myself, but not this time. Fortunately I took it to these guys and within 24 hours they had completely sorted the problem. I took my laptop in for repair on a Thursday and I collected it on the following Tuesday. Not only was work done rapidly, I spoke with Nat who politely and calmly explained the system of booking in a job. On Monday he rang to confirm that repair was done and I could collect the laptop. The machine is functioning perfectly. So very professional, very responsive and good quality. About value I have no idea, but I was very happy with the charge for the repair. I needed a screen repair for my laptop. I took it into York IT Services on 23rd December and left it knowing that there was no promise it would be repaired before new year, as they had to order in the part required. Having bought my PC from PC World a few years ago I upgraded the operating system to Windows 10 during the free download period without any problems, however a couple of months ago it started to install Windows 10 updates that would not install, after about a month of constantly allowing the automatic updates to attempt to install then failing I decided to return the computer to PC World and requested that they sort out the update problem. when I was given the computer back not only had they not updated WINDOWS 10 they had reverted the computer back to Windows 7 and lost all my data in the process (I would never take a computer to PC World again). I then took the computer to York IT Services who have done an excellent job of getting me back on to Windows 10 and recovering most of data from my backup. I would certainly use their services again when i require a computer repaired. Thank you York IT Services.

First time needing a laptop repair for a broken screen, so was rather apprehensive of it all. Yet everything was great and the service was really good. A new screen had to be delivered in from abroad and I was given an estimation of it being finished around February 6th to 20th. But to my delight is was done by the 3rd. Although the screen was expensive it was still reasonable and came to less then £200, which is really good compared to the option of just buying a whole new laptop. It seems to be working fine too.

York IT Services do exactly what it says on the tin. They're in York, they do IT and they provide great service. When I recently decided I was pushing my luck just a tad too far by relying on a 10 year old Windows XP system that was definitely well past its sell by date, I googled York IT and there they were. From the start they were obviously knowledgeable but not pushy. They gave me excellent advice on how to keep my legacy XP apps running within an up-to-date Windows 10 system. Then they built a machine to meet that specification. The result is that now I have the best of both worlds. Throughout the process they have shown exemplary expertise and patience (particularly necessary when dealing with an ancient IT pro who has forgotten most of what he once knew). Many thanks to the team and particularly to Simon and Luke.

With the help, support and guidance from Simon, Eddie, Luke and Tom at York IT Services I am now the proud owner of a brand new Desktop PC with Windows 10, Microsoft Office and a far better Wi-Fi connection due to them coming and installing a Wi-Fi extender which now makes my broadband connection extremely fast.
