Contacted Bratt Builders last December. We had water ingress in one of the bedrooms and could see some slipped tiles on the roof around the ventilation duct. Very quick to come and provide a quote and although was initially told it could take between 10 to 12 weeks to get the job done, it was less than half of that. Friendly and looks like a good job done. People tend to search for work by price but I was let down by 2 other firms that came in slightly cheaper. You get what you pay for!

Bratt Builders is an excellent company. They put right the dreadful job our previous builder had made of the roof on our new extension. Mike and Sean make a wonderful team: they uncovered the damage and awful workmanship on and in the roof, then made a superb new roof with far more insulation, solid beams, ventilation grids, new felting and a tilt to enable any rainwater to run off naturally. The roof now looks so good (yes, I actually enjoy just looking at it!), with every detail on it made to the highest standard. Mike and Sean are great to have around, trustworthy, knowledgeable and hard workers, and they left everything clean and tidy. The job took much longer than anticipated because of all the unexpected complications but we were charged a very fair price. We have no hesitation in recommending this company.

Bratts did an excellent job. They completely replaced the gutters , refurbished the large hip roof, re-layed the ridges, repaired two chimney stacks, took down a third stack, and replaced 100+ tiles. They gave good advice on alternative solutions to repairing the roof, they were clear on quoting at each successive stage and they kept to their quotes,. They showed considerable expertise in older roofs (1920s Rosemary tiles) and chimneys like mine. They were punctual, flexible in working round the weather and kept me clearly informed. They dealt with one or two roofing surprises competently. The team were unfailingly cheerful , they tidied up well, and the whole job looks good. I recommend them.

Second time I have used Bratt Builders. Came to repair and re-roof my porch roof. Arrived promptly, stripped roof, re-felted with new fascia, all done within the day. Excellent service . Like another reviewer we originally had repairs done by others that failed and left us with a roof that still leaked. We had wanted a quick fix without waiting for scaffolding but it was a false economy. Once our roof was assessed properly it became clear that we needed a new roof and during the work some new problems were found that required repairs to the chimney, new flashings and work on the underlying brick work. At all times we were kept fully informed by the team and the options for dealing with the issues that were found. The work has been of very high quality and the team were friendly, helpful and tidy, respecting our needs. We will certainly recommend Bratt’s to others and go back to them for any other work on the house as it has been well worth the money and we now have a solid roof under guarantee that we can be confident about.

Fantastic service provided by Bratt Builders. We had difficulty obtaining a scaffolding permit from the Council and Bratt Builders worked really hard with us to ensure the permit was obtained. We were then provided with a very tight window by the Council within which to complete the job. The team worked extremly hard to ensure this was done in good time. Firstly these guys are NOT the cheapest. If you want cheap you are going to have to go elsewhere. What they DO do is fix your roof properly. They show you videos of before, during and after and explain exactly what they are doing, how and why (unlike previous guys we’ve had who just did a patch up that still needed fixing properly). We need a lot of work doing but they managed to get in the leak-fixing work extremely quickly before more damage was done. They then clear up their mess, are extremely friendly and punctual and entertaining during the whole process and leave you with a roof that looks good and no longer leaks. They discovered extra work that was required (videos showing this) but didn’t charge the earth for this. Trust is a massive thing with folk working on your number 1 investment and I’m very happy with these guys. Thanks x

Whether for roofing, replacing tiles or replacing gutters everyone involved carried out their work efficiently and promptly. Would highly recommend, they put a concrete Lintel above a first floor window very pleased with the whole experience. Rang me the night before to confirm what time they would be coming and turned up on time. The two tradesmen were both polite and courteous, and kept me well informed if they had to leave to get anything. Removed all the rubbish and left site clean. Just used them again. Most people will say would recommend, well the proof is I have used them again to do a leak in my roof valley. Once again Steve came when promised to give a quote and although not the cheapest he was also not the dearest. The job was done when promised and site left clean. All though I had a small leak after which was difficult to find they came back to rectify the problem and were most apologetic, nothing seemed too much for them to satisfy me. The tradesmen were all excellent and I will use them again for any work that may arise in the future. Customer service cannot, in my view, be beaten.

I needed a roof repair urgently, and within a specific time frame. Bratt Builders were the only firm who were willing to do a relatively small job, promptly. It seems as if a lot of firms are just not interested unless customers want a complete re-roof. Steve came promptly for an initial assessment, and within a few days had sent his team to fix the job. This was done cheerfully and efficiently. They took care to swop replaced tiles from the back roof, to maintain the appearance of the roof. Highly recommended. When re-roofing is necessary, they'll get the job!

Our roof was leaking because the valley between the original roof and the 1930s extension was letting water in. We had quotes from several different firms and Bratt was the most expensive by a few £100. We went with another firm who promised they’d fix the problem but they ended up doing a substandard job and then trying to con us out of £12,000 to replace the whole roof. We had several more people out to try and fix the leak and ended up spending in excess of Steve’s original quote - it still leaked. We eventually had to admit defeat and call Steve from Bratt back. His team were the only ones who were able to competently fix the problem. He was shocked that someone had suggested a new roof was needed. That was over 12 months ago and the roof is fixed. I wish we’d gone with Steve initially and we would have saved £1600. Lesson learnt.
