Lothian Paving carried out a complete renovation of our mid-terrace front garden. It was fully excavated, 2 levels created, a recessed area for bin storage, evenly spaced steps, wrap-around steps with large step level with front door, sandstone paving throughout and walls to replace front hedges. Due to mobility difficulties I had some specific requirements that were thoughtfully considered throughout. The entire team were very professional and considerate and we were consulted at every stage to ensure we were happy with plans & results. We also had replacement railings, a new gate and handrails for the steps. All the metal work was completed by blacksmith Mark and his colleague. We wanted something simple and Mark worked closely with us to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. We’re thrilled with our new front garden and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lothian Paving.

I booked Lothian Paving to clear and remove existing tree stumps, build a supporting wall, fill the area, and then build steps and a terrace approx 45m². The 5 guys on the job turned up on time, worked incredibly hard, were great at communicating what was going on, and completed the job in just 5 days. I can highly recommend Lothian Paving to anyone due to the excellent job they provided when they transformed my front garden into a beautiful driveway capable of holding 5 cars. The service provided was to the highest standard from the initial discussions with Bart who was extremely professional and helpful in explaining all my options to the execution of the transformation from Maciek and the entire Lothian Paving team (Peter, Peter and Yanik (Daddy) and all the other additional men who assisted in pick up and dropping off of materials and tools). They were always polite and helpful with all questions. Maciek was extremely supportive in all work performed and changes during the build. Testament to the work rate of the guys was shown by all my neighbours who all commented about their effort and commitment from approx. 7.30am to 16.30 am every day. Many people have commented on the excellent quality of the job they performed. They also cleaned up as they went along and ensured as little disruption to all as possible. Maciej and his team from Lothian Paving undertook the removal of our old patio and the installation of our new one after our previous contractor had withdrawn due to Long Covid problems. As an architect I had designed the new layout and we had sandstone slabs specially cut for us. So this was an unusual and challenging project for them. They did an absolutely magnificent job! Maciej carried out all the laying himself, with the back up of his team, to ensure it was all laid as perfectly as possible. Including cutting all the curved section! They were all very hardworking, punctual and helpful. We would certainly recommend them!

We were absolutely delighted with all the paving, walling, turfing, decking with brushed steel and glass balustrades and general garden reconstruction work which Lothian Paving carried out for us recently in both our front and rear gardens. Ours was a complex job on many levels which required changes and adaptations as the job progressed, and yet, from the planning stage with Bart, who was very helpful and patient, to the very professional, hardworking team of guys, and Maciek who oversaw the whole operation, we were very impressed with all the help and suggestions they made and their willingness to change plans when it was necessary. The only access to our rear garden is through our kitchen but at all times the guys were respectful of our property and always cleared up at the end of each day, causing minimal disturbance or problems for us. The boys built a fantastic stone wall all around the garden (6ft high and a total length over 26metres) and a large patio area with a fire pit. They also laid a concrete slab base for our new BBQ hut. The quality of the work is first class and the cost was less than we were quoted elsewhere. They also put in a new fence at the side of our house and were happy to accommodate changes we asked for. They turned up every morning at 8am and left at 4:30pm with no lunch break! We're very happy with the quality of the work and the value for money we feel we've received. I'd happily recommend them to anyone (we've given their number to at least half a dozen friends who need work done). We'll definitely use them again when we replace our old patio (in a year or so).

4 years ago, after recommendations, Lothian Paving Ltd installed our driveway and front garden . Due to their work ethic and quality of work we obtained another quote from them for our rear patio area ( 5 retaining walls, 3 sets of steps and 70 sq m of slate slabs) . Their quote was the cheapest of 3 and during our initial discussions they gave good advice and recommendations. They arrived at 0745 each morning and did not finish until 1630hrs or later. Any questions we had were quickly answered and small alterations happily incorporated. Extremely happy with the finished patio and would recommend Lothian Paving Ltd to anyone.

Maciek and his teams are accomplished workers providing a professional and reliable service from initial consultation through to final delivery. At each stage care is taken to match customer requirements, taking time to explain any technical detail and any choices that may need to be made. Both projects completed for us required great care with levels on a driveway sloping as much as 20 degrees and the first time use of Geocell sub layer reinforcement on sloping areas where tree root radius protection was specified. All aspects of both projects were completed to a very high standard and exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend Maciek, Bart and their teams to anyone else requiring patio, driveway or any associated works.
