I can happily recommend J Barson Roofing. Jack came to carry out the survey of our porch roof & recommended re-felting, he also pointed out other issues & the leak from our gutters (which also got sorted out by them). A quote was given on the spot and we agreed a date for the re-felting. The two roofers, Jordan & Macaulay carried out the re-felting on the agreed date and stuck to the task till they completed it. Both lads were totally professional and extremely courteous. They did an extremely clean job with no horrible aftermath which workmen sometimes leave behind. We have been plagued with leaks for some time so obviously I was a bit anxious but Jordan, very confidently reassured me that there won’t be any leak and I am happy to share that there hasn’t been leak since the re-felting was done. Also I was given a 10 year guarantee, which shows J Barson’s commitment to their customers & the confidence they have over their workmanship. Please beware of extremely cheap quotes you get from random so called roofers & stay away from companies wanting to charge an exorbitant amount of money for carrying out a straightforward job. Albeit not the cheapest, the quote I got from J Barson was very reasonable and the workmanship of high quality. I will use J Barson Roofing again and have no hesitation in recommending them.

My roof was leaking like a sieve under the torrential rain. Jack and his team worked professionally for a week to stripe back the roof down to the rafters and rebuilt the roof to a quality finish.

Jack and his team have done two jobs for us. Prior to buying our house our survey showed the roof needed some work. Jack came over and went through the surveyor’s recommendations and added some of his own thoughts. He provided a clear proposal and despite the work taking place straight after the Xmas break ensured the scaffolding was erected in good time. The team delivered the works as promised and showed us photos of the work completed at every stage. The scaffolding was removed on time and the site left clean and tidy. Did a full re roof on my detached property in Birstall as I was experiencing roof leaks in multiple places. The roof was pretty complex and consisted of 4 separate roofs but the lads turned up everyday, some times in freezing temperatures to get the job done. Jack and his team came to us when our roof was blown away by storm Dudley/Eunice. He made temporary repair to stop the rain from pouring in from the roof. Once the weather was in our favour Jack and his team came and started work to replace the roof. Needed relacing a flat a roof above dormer. Got a number of quotes. Found Jack to be one of the cheapest. In my initial chat with him I found him to be honest, straightforward and very helpful. Job was quoted with the roof boards needing to be replaced. However once the work commenced Jack inspected the boards and found them to be in good condition . Jack advised that they dont need replacing. As a result he revised the quote down. I found the team to be very polite, punctual, neat and tidy. We had our complete house roof and extension retiled, lead work on a bay window replaced and chimneys repointed. The extension roof is sloping on the side and back of the house and incorporates a flat felted section and a velux window which Jack replaced for us. Jack and his team were very professional and worked over three weeks through the hottest day of March 2021 (21°C) and the following day which swung to snow flurries and temperatures of -2°C. They took great trouble in making sure every detail was carefully done, working to a high standard of craftsmanship and provided photos of the work done. They were friendly and helpful throughout.

They offered me peace of mind that the damage occured from the leak was not substantial and all that needed doing was the flashing. These guys seem to have a good understanding of being professional and did a great job for me, so if you need a roof replacing, tile replacement, valleys and lead work for roof and porch they are great. Also they did a fantastic job on another project for me which was a felt roof chalet, so I guess if you have a garage, extension, porch or shed they could do that too. If you need a roofer in Leicester I would recommend them.
