Acorn Construction did an amazing job building our side and rear kitchen extension (with utility area and shower room). They also installed new fencing and updated our garden. The 6 month project was on time and on budget and managed brilliantly by Colin. Colin and his team's work is of a very high standard. We worked closely with Colin who gave us really good advice on choices of materials and appliances. Colin and his team showed a close attention to detail and followed our brief delivering our dream house. The team were always professional, tidy, courteous and friendly. We highly recommend Acorn Construction.

Acorn carried out a loft conversion, rear extension, and redecorated the entire interior and exterior of my house. It was a massive task. I knew very little about this I needed a trustworthy team with a good reputation. Colin Forrest and Paul Hayes were super helpful and patient when dealing with the numerous challenges we encountered. Acorn carried out a rear extension with patio, garage conversion and refurbishment of our old and tired 1930 house. We could not recommend Acorn Construction more highly. Our experience has been pain free with the most professional, helpful, and caring contractors we could have hoped for. They gave us a spectacular and better than we could have hoped for finish on our extension. Our project manager was Colin Forrest, who was always on the end of the phone with advice, helpful information and often going over and above the call of duty. His team were efficient, respectful, tidy and any thing that did not go to plan was always dealt with quickly and fairly. Colin, Paul and the Acorn team transformed a rather unloved terraced house that had been a HMO into a wonderful home full of light and space. We had full confidence in the whole process, from the initial contact with and discussions between our architects and Colin and Paul, all the way through to dealing with our amendments and "extras" once the main build was completed. Everyone of the Acorn team took great pride in their work, as well as terrific care of our home. Since we moved back in at the end of June 2018, Colin and Paul have ensured everything is just as we want it, including a thorough 12-month check of the house and working effectively and efficiently - and economically! - to complete subsequent requests from us since the build. Thanks to everyone at Acorn we have a wonderful home, and we really couldn't think more of all you've done for us!

Acorn did the building work on a loft extension and refurbishment project at our house in SE London. For us it was a big undertaking, which involved work over several months. We were very pleased with the end result, which achieved what we had hoped at the outset. Technical challenges encountered along the way were discussed and managed between ourselves, Acorn and the architect in a way that produced very good solutions. Acorn personnel were friendly and very good to deal with, and the managers were contactable, responsive and usually quick to come back to us, something which was very important to us as the project progressed. In our view the quality of the workmanship was very good throughout, and where there were options to be considered/choices to be made along the way, these were discussed and agreed with us in a way we found very helpful. Costs throughout were as quoted, with any variations due to change in specification agreed in a timely and transparent way. We would go back to Acorn for other work we might have in future, and are very happy to recommend them.

Acorn did a fantastic job of renovating our house. The tradesman were all professional, polite and reliable. We are especially pleased with the finish. Paul Hayes oversaw the project for us, and was always available and helpful. We were recommended them, and I would strongly recommend them too.

Colin and Paul have been absolutely amazing through our rear and loft extension project. They lead a team of successful and very hardworking guys whom were all super throughout the project. It has been an absolute pleasure working with them both and we are extremely happy with the build - it has transformed the way we live. Whilst at times we needed support and guidance through the large build we had taken on, Colin and Paul both remained so calm and professional throughout. They kept tight to the budget set out at the beginning and helped us through it to cut costs wherever we could- which was very much appreciated! Cant knock Acorn on anything. Wasn't the cheapest but came in under budget and everything was very clearly set out from the beginning. We lived in the build throughout and they made us really comfy and the various teams were very considerate and polite. Have already recommended them to a few sets of friends, which we wouldn't do unless we were 100% happy. Lovely people and great builders.

Colin and his team have very recently completed an extensive rear and loft extension coupled with complete internal refurbishment and external works to our house. Acorn Construction were recommended to us and having seen work previously done by them, we were happy to have them carry out all aspects of the work required to our house. The last 8 months in which the work was carried out have truly been a journey, as Colin had said it would be! The entire project has been effectively managed by Colin who has listened carefully to what we have wanted and made valueable suggestions throughout the process. He has dealt with any issues that have cropped up efficiently. and his utmost concern throughout the entire process has been that we, as the client, remain happy! The quality of work done, the attention to detail and the finishing have all really been excellent. Acorn have really gone above and beyond what was required of them to complete the works and it has really felt like they carried out the work with the level of care as if they were doing it in their own homes. We would not hesitate to recommend Acorn Construction to family and friends. They are truly a company to be trusted. Acorn have given us a beautiful home which we are extremely happy with.

We would recommend Acorn. We needed fairly major renovation work on our property, and Acorn completed with professionalism and quality - the project was finished on time and in budget, and we are very happy with the results. Acorn recently completed our rear extension and I couldn't be happier. The job was completed on time and the only changes to the budget were ones made by us asking for additional work. Acorn's communication with us throughout the build was excellent, keeping us up to date and answering our questions. All of the guys working on the project were professional and friendly and we appreciated that Acorn had the full range of trades and we didn't need to organise separate plumbers, electricians, decorators etc. I also appreciated that the budget included a cleaner at the end so we could move straight back in. I would thoroughly recommend Acorn Construction!

I can't praise enough Colin's job as project manager. He coordinated the extension of our house, a 4.5 months project, taking it over from a far than cooperative firm of architects. From day 1 Colin was proactively solving problems and putting our interests ahead of shortcuts which could have simplified his work. With his team, everybody very professional, qualified and polite, Colin delivered the finished project in time and within budget, a 25% cheaper of what we were originally quoted. If anything, I appreciate that our circumstances where quite peculiar (we were out of the country for most of the duration of the works, unable to oversee the progress), but maybe Colin can find a better solution for long distance communications, like video conferences.

We planned a rear extension on our house and discussed with a few local builders in mid-late 2016. Acorn were the standout in terms of the feel we got from them, their professionalism, experience, honesty and most importantly they listened to what we wanted. We definitely made the right choice and would not hesitate to go with them again (and will soon). Let me tell you why.. Communication - This was superb from well before we started the build (for various reasons - we couldn't start until April 2017) to even now after we've finished. There were no surprises, only sensible recommendations, they always made themselves available to discuss anything throughout the build. At no point did we feel as though we didn't know what was going on. Quality - The quality of the work from start to finish was beyond my expectations, we have a fabulous extension and I don't look at any part of it and think it could've been done any better.. It was done correctly the first time, they were professional across all facets - building, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating.. Nothing was out of their realm. Budget - We had a reasonable budget for our build and added a fair amount of extras in throughout but didn't go over by an unreasonable amount. This comes back to communication, we were given options and recommendations along the way on how we wanted things to go, be it fixings, build, layout.. We often saved money because of what Acorn advised us, it really felt like they had our interests at heart. This wasn't just a build, it felt like a bit of a journey, for four months we shared our home with a really decent bunch of guys, who I can safely say I would trust with my home again and again. I couldn't recommend the team any more highly. Thank you Acorn! Matt Ward.

Acorn were employed to refurbish a victorian terrace ready for rental. The project was completed on budget and to a high standard with the few issues that occurred on site, quickly and efficiently resolved. Scope of works, pricing and payments were clearly set out, so there was no ambiguity as to what was agreed. The team were courteous and professional and i would definitely use and recommend them again.

Acorn built a single-story rear extension on our Corbett house on Westmount Road SE9. They completed the work exactly on time and at a high standard, with a lot of attention to detail. The budget comprised some items which were not fixed initially (e.g. kitchen, tiles, bathroom supplies); the rest was all fixed price and there was no change to this during the project, other than additions requested by us. After the build was completed Acorn were very quick to fix any minor issues that became apparent over time (e.g. they installed a higher capacity gutter at no extra cost). Communication was very good all along and it was reassuring to know that we could find them at their office on Well Hall Parade. In summary, we're very pleased with their work and would recommend their services.
