I'll confess I am a bit picky when it comes to renovation work, dad was a builder. I ended up getting 10 or so quotes for the works, it we were a little caution from the passed. Dan and Paul came and spent the longest time with us just discussing our needs and planned use... we really appreciated this as no one else asked. There advise was then based completely on that, talking us out of some additional works that they felt wasn't needed... which we really appreciated. There quote was mid-range compared to others, but unlike most was fully inclusive and jargon free. We took the plunge feeling the most confident with them and so so happy we did. In short, they delivered on what they said, what we wanted and how they said they would. Admittedly this wasn't;t in the way we imagined, but once they explained it, this made sense. Working in a law practice setting expectations is key. Lovely chaps, great value and a fixed budget, excluding some add ones we opted for. Paul and Dangis are everything you want from your builders from the very get go. Approachable, honest, flexible, professional and most importantly, experts at what they do. We replaced our 1 room loft extension with a full hip to gable conversion and now have 3 wonderful rooms with so much more space. They listened to our needs, advised what they thought was best, and were always willing to tweak where required. The process began with a really detailed chat with Paul about what we wanted and what was realistic for the space. The quote offered good value and having talked to neighbours who’d used the company we were happy to go with them. The staff were quick and efficient and Paul and Dan kept in touch and visited frequently throughout to keep on top of the job and keep us in the loop. Payments were split by stage, which is great as you can control your budget and know what’s been delivered and when. The final payment is only made once snagging is complete - this was great as we’ve had experience in the past of builders never finishing jobs off. Not the case here! Overall really pleased, would use them again and very happy to recommend!

Our experience with this company was excellent from the initial consultation, through the building work on the rear dormer, to the final touches inside. The major structural work happened gratifyingly quickly (considering it was February), while the later internal work took a little longer. After much consideration and around 4 quotes, we decided to appoint Clapham Construction Service to do our loft conversion after meeting them last. Delivered our Loft 2 weeks quicker than quoted, saving a load of hassle, before our baby came. Quality very good, teams really pleasant and respectful. They pretty much delivered on everything they said they would and how they said they would. We were recommended them and we would definitely recommend to others. We initially found them through online reviews and decided to go with their quote as it was competitive on price and the reviews were good. Based on our experience I would want to use Clapham Construction Service for any future building work as they were truly excellent from start to finish. We engaged Clapham Construction to build a single-storey rear extension for our mid-terrace home in Clapham under the Permitted Development Scheme, with works starting in January 2019. Prior to breaking ground, Clapham Construction performed a site visit and drew up detailed architectural drawings. We had our own internal plans for a ground floor level design and were glad to be able to discuss these in detail with Clapham’s architects to ensure that there would be no conflict with the basic structural design. Once construction began in earnest, we were impressed with how pro-active Clapham Construction’s team was with providing progress updates as well as responding to specific questions and providing useful clarifications and recommendations with respect to our interior design ambitions. Clapham Construction was particularly adept at alerting us to unanticipated building challenges that could not be foreseen at the design stage. For example, the team encountered early on a shallow gas pipeline, which was not documented in any official gas network or municipal plan. Although we were warned that this could lead to a sizable budget increase and significant delay, Clapham Construction devised a creative solution to work around the problem, ensuring that only a modest cost increase was incurred and a relatively short extension to the schedule. Despite some delays in receiving materials from third party suppliers, Clapham Construction was able to waterproof the building site and complete its portion of the works ahead of schedule. The firm used professional and responsive plasterers, plumbers, and electricians, who were happy to meet us on-site and explain their scope of work, while checking carefully to see that they understood our interior design plans. We are very satisfied with Clapham Construction’s final product and would unreservedly recommend the firm to potential customers considering a home extension or similar project. In our view, Clapham Construction does quality work at a reasonable cost, and, importantly, keeps its clients fully apprised of its progress and unexpected challenges encountered along the way.

Thank God Clapham Construction Service came to save us. We have a top flat in a listed area in Tooting and we were having our loft conversion carried out by popular builder. At the very beginning everything ran quite smoothly until building control pointed out that the structure was incorrect. The work would need to be redone. It turns out the company we contracted with actually Sub contracted to a building team… they walked off and left us in the lurch. Our insurance covered the costs and we really liked the approach of Clapham Construction, they started work within the week and completed the entire Loft (Including structure corrections) in 6 weeks. They cost the same as the previous builders, but the service was so much better. How nice it would have been to have them in straight-away instead the B**t**ds we had first who were from a decent looking company as well. Take our advice, if you’re thinking of having some work completed…. At least get Clapham Construction Service in to discuss and quote you.

Nothing is too much trouble and the after-build care is excellent as I had an issue with the shower drainage. This was sorted within 2 days. A word of caution for other builders - Originally, we took on another contractor who was £2000 cheaper, however it turns out that all they do is sell the project and sub contract the work to a 3rd party. When we received the contract to sign the first payment goes to the company and the remainder goes to the builders. The contract was actually between us and the builders… not the company. When I asked the company what this was about and what happens if the builders go bust… I couldn’t get a straight answer. Clapham Construction Service were straight and honest start to finish

I was heavily pregnant when we decided to build our loft with Clapham construction. At the beginning, I had my concerns due to my condition, but my husband insisted that it was the best period before our daughter arrives and to take advantage of the maternity leave. We met the owner and the project manager during the consultation, they set us (me) at ease about having the baby during the works, they said they had done this before. When they provided the quote, it came with a schedule of works, which allowed them to stop the works mid-way through. This is why we choose Clapham construction team. Loft conversion started and within 9 weeks we were ready to decorate. This included 1 week that they left site when the baby arrived. They left us for the first week weathertight and without noise. Had our loft converted with Clapham Construction Service and the end product was amazing. Alfred our project manager was always available to answer any of our queries and he kept us up to date with the progress each week. Paul is knowledgeable and guided us with all the complex decisions we had to make. All the tradesmen were amazing. The best thing is that we had the mobile numbers of all the management in the company… if you couldn’t get hold of one, the others would always pick up… I don’t know another business in any industry that does that!! We have bought an end terraced house in London many years ago and we were renting it out. The estate company that runs the house proposed us to build an extension and a loft as the return on investment in Clapham was good. We engaged Clapham Construction Service after searching around and receiving 5 different quotes. Although, I was not able to attend myself the building process as we live in Spain, I had weekly updates with the owner by facetime calls from the house plus pictures sent every day. The full project finished in 22 weeks slightly longer than we were expecting as we faced some issues with the party wall agreement and a difficult neighbour that disrupted the teams schedules a bit. This did cost a few weeks rent, but not sure we can blame the company as they had to send the team to another job for a few days before they could return. Anyway, I would highly recommend them and say you get what you pay for.

I have to say that from the very start to the very end (including snagging/aftercare) Clapham construction have been nothing but PERFECT. If you're in the market and looking for an honest, quality driven and solutions focused business, then you need to speak with Clapham Construction Team. The work came in on budget, they were very helpful in ideas and guidance and actually made something that was quite daunting in to a pleasurable experience in the end. One example to give you an idea of the type of people/company I'm talking about, is we were struggling to find alternative accommodation specifically with our dog. The Clapham management offered to look after our dog for a few weeks till we moved back in to our house. This was a genuine offer and just goes to show the level of customer service this team provides. These guys came, provided a really competitive quote.....which I advise everyone to check against others... Clapham construction initially looked a little more expensive than another quote, but when you look into the detail they include everything we needed and there were no extras... another company would have charged for every addition which would have come out more expensive in the end... which is a bit naughty really. Absolutely Brilliant. We are very happy with our new Loft conversion. Our flat is in Battersea and we were redeveloping it, we had a leaky roof, poor plaster, cracks and some subsidence. Clapham Construction... aka Dangis and Paul came in.... were the first people to spot some additional issues that no even the surveyor picked up on and gave us some real solutions, including how to safe money... rather than charging us for everything we asked for. Clapham Construction designed, planned and carried out our upstairs double dormer extension towards the end of 2019 and we can easily say it's been THE least stressful build we've done so far. It's also been the biggest piece of work we've had done in our house which hopefully tells you something about how well organised everything was! Paul and Dangis were in contact daily and on site several times a week, checking that everything was going to plan. The work was carried out to schedule with great communication and using highly self sufficient tradesmen. You certainly won't be popping the kettle on every 5 minutes as they crack on and power through the day, making amazing progress by the end of each week. Paul and Dangis knew we were on a tight budget and did everything they could (including the purchase and delivery of tiles to us at wholesale price) to help us stick to our budget. I have paid the final amount due to Clapham Construction Service this morning. They have asked me to share my thoughts online. I do not like doing reviews etc… especially when asked, but to be honest. After the experience of some of our friends with tradesmen and projects I think it’s important to make a point when one is due. Since the first visit every manager or owner I met from this company spoke about Accountability and communication… a little too much maybe. However, that’s exactly what we got throughout in our extension. We had an issue with the Bi-fold doors, with our kitchen supplier and with the ventilation. Each time the owner was on site the same day and either resolved it our instructed a solution. I do not judge people by the mistakes, but by how they deal with them. We felt, very quickly in safe hands. We paid a fair price, received a great service and excellent works. We couldn’t ask for more and we would recommend them (and we never do that lightly)

We had been trying to get someone to do our attic for a while, but no one gave us a guaranteed answer about the limited headroom. All we wanted was to know beforehand if we needed to lower ceilings, use space saving materials or it would squeeze in. The other 4 companies that can in wanted to give a price and give us a “let’s see response”. They were all confident it could be done but were a bit too vague on the how and by which method. After deciding that we wanted some extra space for the kids, we decided on having our loft converted into a bedroom/play den for them. For this we got quotes from a number of companies and Clapham Construction Service had given us a good one as well as assurance on time and quality. This came from their free consultation, which was a bit more than a salesman coming around for 10 mins and just email a price over days later, like a couple of companies. The workers always turned up on time, the work itself was done as planned, there were a few minor glitches, but we were quickly informed of them and they got rectified with no hassle. The kids are delighted, and they even made us video for us when the build was completed showing the stages on the works, which the kids all loved, as it was aimed at them. Really lovely, family friendly company and fun to work with.

The quotes looked great the communication was fantastic, especially as I am only on London a few days a week. I thought the price was very competitive so overall..... What a Great Team! I am a very mistrusting person by default so choosing a team to come and build us a new Loft conversion was a bit nerve racking for us. we had 6 quotes and they all but 2 sent 'salespersons' to us... who forgive me, just seems to be after a sale and not a client. Another company we liked who sent the 'director' turns out is using a subcontractor with a similar sounding name to them, but when I dug a little deeper seems like its a different company with bad reviews.... Clapham construction, or should I say Paul, Dangis (owners) and their teams, from start to finish did exactly what they said they would do, priced competitively but most importantly transparently. They were in constant communication and were really helpful from design to snagging. Most grateful are we for the completion of the project, which came about during this whole Coronavirsus/Covid19 pandemic!. These guys were really professional. They filled our garden with materials from plastering to carpentry stuff as soon as the news broke. They works upstairs for the last 2 weeks away from us and used FaceTime to communicate things, just so we weren't in contact... they even Brought us Milk last week!!! I mean who does that? The teams are clean and tidy, really responsive and the carpenter is one of the best trades I have ever seen. Highly recommend, 5 stars and don't hesitate... I found Clapham construction service on Youtube, when I was browsing, trying to educate myself on the process of a loft conversion. I was seduced by some lovely videos to be honest but invited them to quote for the works. To be honest without sounding so enthralled like some other reviews I’ve read… they did and acted exactly as they represented on the videos and website. I couldn’t complain about anything because they did exactly what they said on the tin. Having spoke to the owner a few times it seems they limit the number of jobs they do per year to ensure they the management can personally manage each job, that’s a good business model.

CCS recently completed a loft, bathroom and kitchen renovation on our South London Terrace. Start to finish the service and end product were excellent, specifically: -Initial quotation - Dan/Paul worked with us to understand what we wanted, work through challenges and refine our ideas. Compared to other contractors we felt they listened, and provided a quote that whilst not the cheapest was a fixed price with clear indication of costs for extras. -Design- The wider team guided us through Building Control process well, refining the design as needed to make all appropriate submissions to the local council/supporting Party Wall requirements as necessary. -Build/Finish - Great team, always professional, efficient and punctual. Quality of finish was excellent, managed COVID supply chain issues well. -Recommendation - Highly recommended. This type of project is daunting especially if like us you haven't done this before. If you're considering one of your own, i'd strongly recommending calling CCS.
